I had a great experience this week with RGB. In the midst of a stressful week, with most businesses closed, my hard drive of my computer failed. I called Bob and he set me up with a new hard drive and moved all of my old data to the new hard drive. He called and gave me regular updates. I was really impressed and would highly recommend using this business. read more

The hard drive in my computer froze up so I brought it to this company seeing the rave reviews on Yelp. They said they'd take a look and a couple of days later someone from there called to say my hard drive was fried and that to fix it, they'd have to ship it out and it would cost over a thousand dollars. I've had this type of work done before and it actually costs nowhere near that, so I went to retrieve my system. They told me the charge was $75 for basically telling me they couldn't do anything. Before I left a worker offered me a 10% off "coupon" to use at the "files retrieval" service they use. Yeah, no thanks. Instead I gave it to an IT friend of my wife's, who used a simple SATA cable to load all my files onto an external hard drive. He then told me "whoever you took it to before didn't even try." read more

Bob updated the OS on my iMac which allowed me to install TurboTax and send a bunch of money to the government, which they appreciate. For 2019 TurboTax requires High Sierra and my mid 2011 iMac desk top unit would not download this nor did Apple or Intuit provide any alternative. I was contemplating an internet hack but I was fortunate to find RGB. Bob had a way to do it, he had my computer ready the next day for a very reasonable fee. Most of the time I can handle whatever changes are necessary with my home computer, but when things get dicy I now have a new go-to shop. I had the greatest experience here today. My parent's keyboard on their desktop has been acting up for a while now and my mom asked me to bring it to someone to see if it was a bad keyboard, or if there was something to do to fix it. Today was a good day as Bob Black who fixed my Dell computer at his Hingham office brought computer back to my house and reconnected printer, scanner etc. and made sure that everything worked well before leaving the house. He answered my questions and left me with a fair bill. I have known Bob for many years now, he has seen me and my family through a few desktops and laptops and even tought me the basics of Photoshop when it was still Photoshop 7. Made a phone call this morning to inquire about a solution to repair a frozen screen on my son's laptop. The person that answered told me to bring it in for a check up and that it would incur a "bench cost" of $75. The computer is quite old and didn't cost a lot to begin with. So I thanked him and was about to hang up, when he quickly said "wait, wait - let me see if I can be of any assistance over the phone". Then he gave me some ideas and I was actually able to combine his suggestions with my limited knowledge and YES - got the laptop back to normal! Just saved $75 - but I will not forget the spirit of his extremely kind offer on the phone to give me a few hints to first try doing the repair myself. And, if and when I am ever ready for any future computer services, I will be calling RGB! read more

I found these folks online after another local IT provider ruined my work database (corrupting all the data). They helped me purchase a new system, set it up & keep it running. I think I'm a fairly high maintenance customer, and they are always super-patient, professional & accommodating. Anytime I've had an IT issue, they've worked on the problem until it's resolved to my complete satisfaction. On that note, they are very customer-service focused. On a separate note, if your desk is covered with cables, one of their employees is the "cable master" - I went from having a multitude of cables on my desk to none, thanks to this guy. I have a HP DV9000 that I paid $2,000 for. The hinge on the left-hand side was wobbly so I took it in to be repaired. After paying a $400 charge the hinge was more secure. I guess the large amount of black tape he used on the right and left hinge help. Later I found out the DV9000 was involved in a class action lawsuit because of overheating. One of the indications of the system not cooling properly is problems with the left hinge which is located near the heatsink that over heats. He mentioned nothing about this well known problem with the laptop. So happy to pull out my laptop with the black tape going across the hinges...very professional! read more
