I love restoration hardware design and all the beautiful decor, unfortunately the Quarry location made it an uphill battle trying to make what should have been a simple, quick, purchase. I originally went in requesting quotes on multiple large items and to meet with a designer to help me walk thru my space and suggest items. The sales agent sent a quote to the wrong email address and when I followed up with her after several days she corrected the address and the quote was vague with "adjusted prices". When I followed up with her a second time requesting to have a designer come to my house she informed me no one would be available to come to my house for at least two weeks but that the prices she quoted me were sale prices that were to expire at the end of that day. This was news to me since when I originally walked in I asked if there were any sales and she told me no. She suggested I text her pictures and room dimensions. I did that... she responded saying she was in a meeting that morning and would get back with me. She didn't. The next day I asked if I could come in and meet with her. She said she was home sick but I could meet her assistant that she would set up the appointment. I went in and requested her assistance at which point I was told she doesn't have an assistant but I could meet with the girl she referred to as her assistant. I waited 15 minutes before I was told I would be seeing someone else. When I sat down with him he was very sweet but unfortunately was not very knowledgeable about the products, availability or pricing. I asked to see a designer and I was asked to wait... after another 15 minutes of waiting I left. I ended up calling a sales associate at the RH at the Domain in Austin who was very helpful and sold me several large ticket items over the phone in less than half an hour. I live out-of-town & it was my first visit to a Restoration Hardware Store. I recently built a pool house & needed to equip it with quality furniture that wouldn't be tossed around during a windstorm. A gf told me to check out RH. Yes, the prices are not the lowest in town. Although their products are elegantly designed, I find that the quality varies. I ordered a set of bed linens made of Belgian linen that are absolutely elegant, durable, and exceeded my expectations. I ordered a different style, also in linen, and the stitching was poor. I then ordered another set of linens and the care labels on the exterior of the package did not match those sewn into them. Also, they had a sticky label of an arrow attached to them, indicating that there must have been a problem with them at some stage of manufacturing. After many calls to the store and corporate, I received conflicting information. The store said that they'd stand by the product if it got ruined by washing, but corporate said that I'd be better off dry cleaning them. Who wants dry-clean only linens? And did I get a "second" that should have been sold at an outlet store? Back they went. The furniture is generally a rustic design, which hides manufacturing flaws. If you like the look (think reclaimed wood from barns), you'll probably be satisfied with a non-flat surface and rough wood grain. They also have some unusual pieces- reminiscent of airplane design, with stainless and lots of rivets. One desk is made to look as if it were a converted steamer trunk. Almost all of the products are in a pale pallet- this year's "pop" color is indigo. The catalog, massive and beautifully photographed, shows many ways to integrate the pieces into your decor. In addition to furniture, bed & bath linens, and outdoor & indoor accessories, the namesake is hardware. They sell hinges, drawer pulls, lighting, and more. Prices on these items seem high compared to other similar items, but if you have your heart set on a particular design, it can be worth it. During the holidays, they sell lots of nostalgic stocking stuffers. Previously they have featured artwork, based on classic rock photography. read more

Service was horrible, perhaps because I'm young but I was ready to spend 5-7k on new furniture. Recently purchased a new condo and need updated furniture. Product was nice but service killed it. Not very much of a selection. They have some outrageously overpriced items, and the inside of the store wasn't very inspiring. I've seen some very similar glass bathroom shelves at Home Depot for a quarter of the price. I don't mind looking at some expensive items for the home, but they should be unique for what they charge. Ok, so a month later and I still havent received my bed. Worst part is they actually called to schedule delivery and the day of delivery they called me saying they were 25 minutes away from my house. So, I leave work and as soon as im getting home I get a call saying the bed was not being delivered because they didnt have the correct hardware to put it together!!! Really?! They had the bed for a month in their warehouse and they didnt bother to check if it was all complete until after they called me saying they were 25 minutes from my house!?!? Who is running this place!? Michael scott from the office?!? I bet he would do a better job. We are in the process of finishing our new home. My wife wanted us to shop there for a chandler at the Alamo Quarry location. We were there for about 30 mins and no one acknowledged us. There were quite a few sales reps (around 6) available, and saw us looking around. They were to busy looking at their lap tops, or just talking among themselves. It wasn't until several more customers came in, is when they finally acknowledged us. They have awesome furniture, but really bad customer service. I was ready to buy a 4k chandler, but now I will be taking my business else where. read more

The absolute worst purchasing experience accompanied by a completely incompetent staff. A return policy that required them to charge me double for a damaged product and didn't receive the final product until 6 weeks after purchase. They call themselves curators but lack the professionalism to make up for the prices. Save your time and money and "procure" the item yourself. read more

My grandparents purchased a lamp for me for Christmas and the sales person did not mention that the lamp shade would be a separate purchase. After two months waiting on the lamp, I obviously received it without the shade. With frustration, I called Restoration Hardware to see what happened and what we could do to expedite the shade. I was told the shade would be back-ordered until May. So, not only did I wait for two months for my lamp (post), I had to wait another 4 months for a shade. I spoke to a manager multiple times and she had no desire to fix the situation. All she told me was that I could pack up the lamp and leave it outside my door for UPS to come pick it up. I decided to call back a week later in hopes I would talk to a different manager. Luckily, I did. Aubrey was SO helpful. She worked her magic and I received my shade a week later. Customer service gets a 1 star but Aubrey gets a 5 star! Thank you for your help Aubrey. read more
