I was happy to find a eyebrow threading location open on Sundays so I stopped by during the afternoon. Upon entering the place was empty which I thought was great because I did not have to wait. The threader for the day went on and on explaining to me that things would pick up and I should have scheduled an appointment because it gets busy. She stated she had 10 minutes before her next appointment: I was okay with that as my service wouldn't take long. During preparation, I told the threader my brows are thin and I do not fill them in so I just wanted her to clean them up. I sat down and had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. Once complete, I took a look in the mirror and notice small patches of my eyebrow were missing. Without stating a word, the threader asked if I usually have hair there knowing she had butchered my brows. I paid and departed with no plans to return. Later that evening I noticed my upper lip was irritated. I was disappointed with the service all together. The customer service was lacking and she did not do a good jobs. read more

Nice brow shop located in Federal Hill. They do take walk-ins but appointments are highly recommended. The environment is very relaxing. I loved the fact that the technician asked me what Iiked. Well, well, well! Winner winner, chicken dinner right here! I Googled eyebrow threading in my area since my usual salon is closed on Sundays, which is of course the day I needed my brows done. Google suggested Rhea as open on Sunday, and the Yelp reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I called and made an appointment but showed up much earlier than anticipated. The shop was empty and the solo threader(???) there got to work on my brows right away. She was so very gentle, the process, which generally feels like face rape, barely hurt at all. She then took additional care applying the brow tint I'd also requested. Almost the whole time we had either a nice patter of conversation or comfortable silence while she worked. She even seamlessly tended to another client while my tint was setting. My brows look great! I'd take a pic but I'm sitting in the dark, lol. At any rate, as I checked out, I added my contact information to the Rhea database and was given a punch card. Great visit and I may have found a new threading salon! read more

I normally get my brows threaded at one of a few options near my office but was looking for a place in the city to go to and a friend mentioned that Rhea's had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I will say up front that I was extremely put off by the fact that I wasn't greeted or acknowledged in any way when I entered the shop, or at any time during the almost thirty minutes I waited to be served. I found this extremely weird/rude/disconcerting and honestly, if my eyebrows weren't currently such a mess, I would have just left and maybe tried back another time. Having said that, when Rhea was finally ready for me, she discussed my brows and explained what she was doing and had a great technique-what others said about it not being painful or stinging after the fact was completely true, and to someone who's been getting threaded for 15+ years, astonishing! My eyebrows ended up being thinner than my preference, which I did clearly communicate ("I like to keep them full, so please just clean them up"), but they look really good so I would go back and just reiterate that I prefer a fuller brow . One other thing I would mention is that on her dry erase board, she advertises a discount for new customers, but when asked, she said that it was no longer in effect. Rhea is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! After multiple failed experiences at other salons (and having to wait months for my eyebrows to grow back in so I could start over) I decided to try her salon. I am so glad I did. She was extremely patient with me, took her time and checked with me every so often to make sure it was on the right track of what I wanted. My eyebrows hadn't completely grown back on one side so we agreed that we'd leave that part alone for now, but she was so good at working around it so that it still looks great and I could fill it in for the time being if it really bothered me (which it doesn't).
