That is, however, no reflection whatsoever of my doctor or the staff at Summit Medical Group. In fact, I never had a regular doctor until I found Dr. Jeffrey Stevens at Summit. I floated around and made my way to emergency clinics and got my antibiotic fix or whatever wherever I could. What made me a one-doctor kind of woman? For me, it all boils down to the fact that I feel like Dr. Stevens actually cares. I don't go to the doctor often, but he always remembers me when I do and asks about things that he remembers from our last visit. He is personable and easy to talk to, which is important. He is professional and knowledgeable. He prescribes a healthy lifestyle before he prescribes pills, which I really appreciate. When I first started seeing him, he discovered that I was being overdosed on thyroid medication. That was almost 5 years ago and he still keeps his eye on it, though it's been stabilized for some time. His entire staff is friendly and never makes me feel like a nuisance. I rarely wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting room to be taken back or in the exam room for the doctor. The perform lab work on site. They perform them right there in the room and results are returned quickly. I have referred several people to Summit Medical Group and everyone has had similar experiences and have been pleased. No one likes to go to the doctor, but it's nice to know that when you do, you have someone you can trust.

I arrived on time and the doors were locked. I called and they said I went to the wrong door so I turned around on Kingston Pike to go back. There was no reminder or confirmation on my phone as there was supposed to be. I like my primary care provider at Summit but this was a little hard to stomach as I called to be seen that day,

His staff could not be more unprofessional. I have been going to this office for over a year and two months ago I started having really unusual neurological symptoms that arose from an area in my spine. Dr. Wakefield ordered several MRI's for me, including for the brain and the spine. When my MRI came back for the spine, something was detected and I was told I needed to get another MRI with contrast to rule out a lesion or tumor. Over these few weeks my symptoms have progressed to where it is affecting my ability to walk and even ended with me having to go to the ER because I lost feeling in the left side of my body. As I await this next MRI, my husband and I kept getting calls from insurance telling us that they needed the doctors notes and previous MRI test results to go ahead and approve the MRI with contrast and that they had had trouble getting ahold of anyone from my doctors office about it. Because of this, I have politely tried to explain this to a few members of staff. Never once have I been rude or raised my voice-- that is not the type of person I am and that's not in my nature. I got a phone call today from the office manager Janet who was beyond dismissive of me and made allegations that I was "harassing" her staff all because I called a few times requesting the information to be sent to my insurance company for them to proceed with my MRI. I am so incredibly discouraged with my treatment at this office. I have been nothing but kind and respectful to the nurses I hear speaking about other staff members and patients right out in the open, which is incredibly unprofessional in my opinion, and it is beyond incomprehensible for the manager to not take my issues seriously- she told me they cannot "drop everything for me," which is not something I have ever expected or requested of them. I just simply wanted insurance as well as my doctor's office to work together and submit what they need to in order for me to get proper health care. It seems like that is too much to ask for from the staff here at Norwood. I have also requested numerous times for a phone call with any of my test results, and the nurse refuses to do so even after being asked by Dr. Wakefield. I do not always have access to the portal so a phone call in the midst of the scary symptoms I have experienced to let me know where my health stands should not be a tall order. I feel like I am being pushed out of this office, which is incredibly confusing as I have never been a problem or cause for concern, and I have been nothing but respectful to the staff when I have been experiencing very poor health care. Threatening to discharge a patient over them POLITELY requesting that paperwork be sorted with insurance is a very bizarre move and really had me taken aback. People that behave this way should not be a part of the medical field or deal with people struggling with health issues. Looking at reviews on here, it doesn't seem like I am the only one and this is a recurring issue. Sadly I will be seeking a new doctor. I hope that the staff at this office is retrained to learn how to speak to concerned patients, but something tells me that won't happen.

Regrettably, he retired, and I was referred to a different provider who did not meet my expectations. Several months ago, I scheduled an appointment with the new provider. Everything was proceeding smoothly until I checked in a day before my appointment. To my dismay, I discovered that KOC had switched me back to the provider I had previously expressed dissatisfaction with. Upon contacting KOC, I inquired about the reason for this change. They informed me that I lacked the authority to select my preferred provider. This revelation has shed light on the circumstances leading to Dr. Ivy's retirement. I speculate that it may be attributed to the current operational practices of KOC, which differ significantly from their past methods. KOC's approach to patient care appears to be more dictatorial rather than empowering. By dictating which providers patients can see, KOC may inadvertently impact their health outcomes. Furthermore, the lack of respect shown towards patients' concerns is concerning. I guess I will be flying out of state again to see my doctors. Apparently, they have zero confidence in their patients abilities to make decisions about their own care.

I had also said "Oh mom!" quite loudly. The front office lady, Diana, did nothing. She just sat there while I helped my mother up from the ground. Once I got my mother off the floor, we approached Diana, and there was no greeting or concern. No "How are you today?" or "I'm sorry you fell, are you alright?" Instead, she started with, "Does she have her insurance card?" speaking to me as if my mother wasn't right in front of her. The lack of decorum and humanity was astonishing. Even without the fall, the absence of a greeting was unacceptable. Summit Medical should consider finding a new front office lady because the miserable lady with the teal glasses and gray hair, just doesn't cut it. I know that clinics aren't all about the mushy gushy stuff, but a smile can go a long way. Here's another thought, when you notice/hear someone fall, maybe, justtttt maybe, put the fork down, don't be so lazy, and help her??? However, I will say that Rebecca and Holly were so so kind and helpful and actually had personality! Diana could learn a thing or two from them.

Once I arrived, they gave me an eerily similar one to complete prior to being seen. My first and only appointment with Dr. Glow was great. I left feeling heard and on the right track. She did an energy test in the office, but it took me 16 days and three emails to get the results. Then came the at home tests. Eager to get started, I did an overnight urine (Dutch) test and a food sensitivity blood test (FIT132) the same week and sent them away. They arrived at the testing facilities on October 9th and were sent back to Forum on October 15th. On October 30, I sent another two emails asking for the results. I had to call a patient advocate at Forum's home office in order to get any traction. I finally got my results today with another, sorry for the delay, email from the office manager and some cut and paste response from Dr. Glow. I won't waste any more money on them.
