I was promised a very well put together floral arrangement for my husbands memorial/viewing . we discussed the arrangements (set of 3) colors. flowers were supposed to be red &white , ribbons were supposed to be black with white writing and the outskirts of the flowers would b sprayed silver . The arrangements were suppose to be full length as well. once I arrived to the viewing I immediately noticed the ribbons were red with gold writing and they were half length and not full . I really would have given 2 stars but they did deliver the flowers for Mother's Day to my 96 year old aunt at 10:03 pm. Her day was well over. It would be best to inform your customer that there are delays before they take their order and money. It was a day late. No notifications were given. Horrible, horrible, horrible !!!!! My wife sent me flowers using 1-800- flowers. Rhodes was the local florist that filled the order. First the order was a day late which my wife forgave, then when the flowers did arrive it was after 7:00pm. I know it sounds horrible but the delivery guy looked like a vagrant and appeared drunk. The arrangement was falling out of the vase and though the flowers did look beautiful they fell everywhere once the wrapping was taken off. Called 1-800- flowers to complain. Excellent customer service and stated that they would contact local florist ( Rhodes ) and have new arrangement delivered the following day. I placed an order for $480 for two arrangements for my son's memorial service. The flowers were received when the service was over. This added additional stress to an already difficult day. I even called 20 minutes before they were supposed to be delivered and was informed they were on the way. I called the shop the following day, the owner was professional, however, the reason I was given included the fact that there was not a delivery time indicated on the order. I should have received a call, yet the owner was unsure why I didn't. We agreed upon half of the cost being refunded which I should have received in 4 days. I received it 2 weeks later. They were fresh and beautifully arranged (so she said) and their delivery service is prompt. I have to give them extra kudos for providing great customer service. However, I recently placed an order over the phone and asked if they can simply email me an invoice and they've not been able to do so after three phone calls. Each time they're rumbling through a barrage of papers and writing information down without follow through. Actually, I just got off the phone with Michelle and she responded with many unreasonable excuses and unprofessional tone for the apparent lack of organization. For example, she ruley stated "there's many other customers in the world other than you". I'm really disappointed in this florist shop. I'm associcated with one of the top hospitals in the world here on Chicago's very southside and I pride myself by supporting local businesses. However, I refuse to give them further business until they get some basic office organization and treat paying customers with professionalism. I try my best to patronize Chicago Black businesses; however, I expect professional and quality services from them in exchange for my hard earned monies. En route to a funeral, I stopped by Rhodes Florist, later then an agreed pick up time, for my floral arrangements, but they were bringing worked on, which meant I had to wait beyond my expectation. On receiving the late order I asked for a receipt for the same and had to wait again for it, but left without it to avoid bringing late for the family members' floral presentations, before the start of the funeral services. Later, I called Rhodes Florist and talked to Ms. Arlene, who apologized, with excuses, for the delayed floral order and promised to send the receipt via my e-mail address. However, and as of this writing, I am still waiting for it. Furthermore, when I phoned in my initial floral order to Rhodes Florist, my bank card payment was promptly processed - PAID IN FULL!!
