Izet and his crew helped me remodel my kitchen in late 2020 which was an absolute godsend at the time as our old kitchen was incredibly dated and we were stuck at home so much during those times. He and his crew took my renderings of the kitchen layout + cabinet selection and turned them into reality. From demo to reconstruction, he gracefully handled the mid-project change of moving the location of the stove & re-routing the gas + alerting the plumbing for the sink to be in it's place, as well as some hurdles with inspectors & the electrician. The kitchen looks amazing and has served us well for the last 4 years until more recently when floor tiles started to crack and pop off. My house is built on clay, and every winter the building experiences some above-average movement, however tiles aren't coming off in other parts of the building... Upon investigation, of a single tile and consulting with some tile pros it appeared that the tiles had been laid incorrectly the first time. I called up Izet and he came out to see the situation. Upon seeing it he immediately offered to redo the kitchen floor, from subfloor to tiles if I would provide the replacement tiles. We agreed and his crew redid the work a few weeks later. Izet and his team installed a new kitchen in my house located in Alameda, CA. The whole process from demolition to final inspection by city inspector took about 10 weeks. For a new kitchen, you definitely need to have at least 4-6 quotes from different contractors, and select one that you feel most comfortable to work with. Don't hire anyone that promise you that they can do anything without inspecting the house including the electrical panel, plumbing, and the floor above or below the kitchen. In my case, one of the bathtubs in my house is sitting on top of the kitchen so the height of the kitchen is 7'-6" instead of 8'. One of the contractors stated he can build the new kitchen to 8' without even inspecting the 2nd floor or asking what is on top of the kitchen. Also, avoid contractors that recommend he or she can save you money and you don't need have a city permit (it is for your own protection), or getting you big discount on cabinetry by going to their recommended suppliers. Don't select the cheapest quote because you will get what you pay for. A new kitchen is a big investment so do your homework. Select a local contractor if you can because you want to support local businesses. Izet and his team did a fantastic job. However, some minor problems did happen during the project, but his team addressed and fixed those issues immediately. We hired Izet for an extensive remodel of the first floor of our home including: new flooring, powder room update, installing an exterior sliding door, custom built-in/fireplace work, and a full kitchen refresh (e.g., appliances, counters, cabinets, new wet bar). We had worked with a designer to pull together the grand vision and finished materials, but relied on Izet to make it a reality. This included figuring out all the custom work as well as permits. From the beginning, we were very pleased working with Izet and his team. We wanted to live in our home during the construction and Izet was very accomodating to us completing one room for us to use, sealing it off, then making sure our washer, dryer, and fridge were accessible. Since Izet is local to Alameda, he was able to come by when we ran into issues like our hot water heater pilot light being out. During construction, we worked closely with his team (Adis and Dawa) and really liked the way they asked for feedback as well as liking them as humans. They definitely were focused on making sure we would be happy with the final product rather than trying to get the job done. This was critical. They also showed a strong attention to detail, diligent craftsmanship, and they offered tasteful suggestions on how to resolve the numerous issues that come up during a project like this. One additional fantastic benefit I realized during construction was I was able to ask Izet and team to fix/complete small projects around the house like installing security cameras, fixing windows, installing outlets. As described in another review, Izet has a calm, quiet, yet extremely wise and experienced demeanor. Though I aspire to do more myself around the house, I'm glad I just asked him to do all these tasks. It's quite impressive to see him apply his experience and knowledge in every situation fixing and building anything you need in a matter of minutes, when it would take you days. We had major water damage to our master bathroom and our kitchen which is directly below it as a result of a drain pipe leak. Even though this happened at the peak of the pandemic, we had no choice but to move forward with an entire remodel of both the master bath and kitchen. Izet and his team were amazing!!! We bought our first home - complete fixer upper Craftsman in Alameda, built in 1914 - 2 years ago. The first year we owned the property was spent designing and obtaining permits, the second year was spent rebuilding the entire house that had been stripped down to the studs. Year two is where Izet and his RI Best Construction team came into play. We learned about Izet because he is our neighbor, but we did do our homework. We interviewed and got bids from a couple other contractors. Neighbor or not, Izet's personality - calm, cool, collected - was definitely the best fit for my husband and me - this was very important as we were going to be working with our contractor for the next year. It was also very clear during the contractor decision period that Izet was very responsive and an excellent listener. Our house was torn down to the studs, Izet and his team added an addition to the back of the house, turned the upstairs attic space into a master suite - adding a second bathroom, added two stair cases, remodeled the garage - sectioning off a laundry room, storage room, and wine room (really big garage), added HVAC, ripped out all the old electrical and plumbing and replaced, turned the fireplace into a gas fireplace, all new flooring, new roof, painting, the list goes on... Then they added all the Craftsman detail back into the house that had gone missing over the years. I was Izet's main contact through the entire process, and I can't say enough about his responsiveness. Text messages were constantly flowing back and forth. Izet also managed all aspects of the City's inspections and permits and worked with all of rules of our construction loan and our bank's inspections. I had an Excel spread sheet with tabs for each room. In each tab I had pictures, descriptions, and links to websites for EVERY element of that room. I am not kidding, Izet made every image come to life. In the end, one year later, our ugly duckling of a house turned into a beautiful Craftsman home that people stop on the street to stare at. It was more than a kitchen remodel, it was a whole reinvention of the front of our craftsman bungalow in Alameda, but it's still not a big house - for us it was daunting though because it's our first house, and it was to be quite a reimagining of it, opening up walls and such. We were warned when getting bids from contractors, don't go with the highest (dur) nor the lowest, go for the middle priced one that you like the most, that's the least red-flaggish. One is also told that it'll be a mess, over budget, over the length of time it was supposed to be, the gamut. I expected a bad experience and hoped for the best. Now, these aren't the days to use superlatives like this is the best EVER, for obvious reasons, like NOBODY knows contractors like I do - it immediately raises alarms, especially if it's on social media, if you see what I'm saying. On the other hand, I'd be completely remiss and guilty of bogarding an amazing service. Izet and his small family based crew did everything perfectly, quickly, it cost by far less BY FAR than anyone else that bid (and in Alameda people either bid insanely high, or blew us off completely, mostly the latter). Izet seemed too good to be true. My two baby girls reached for him and insisted he hold them. No joke. Izet gives off the vibe of a very kind, smart, and competent grandpa (he's only just becoming a grandpa) that it's impossible to feel uncomfortable or agitated about anything, when you're around him. His son and son in law, and their two workers, all lovely guys, cleaner and more gentlemanly than me, and I'm a gentleman. We called three of his references, they spoke of attention to detail when it came to kitchens, and basically being a master kitchen craftsman - who knows why he charged drastically lower, and came and did the job quickly and beautifully like a prince, without a single iota of a problem, why given all that he charged just dramatically lower than the next highest bid?!! No one will ever know, but we are set back just WAY less than we expected, and they're done a month early! Anything I've wanted tweaked or changed, Izet has come right over to fix it, a flickering light let's say, or something really small, within just a few hours. The job is done, but he's still coming over if anything is up, however small, literally a few hours after I text him, and sorts everything out. We got incredibly lucky to find Izet. If you need work on your house, you will not find a more professional, competent, talented, easy-to-deal-with crew with the bedside manner of a Florence Nightingale than these guys - and the price they charge makes me feel guilty for spreading the news so far and wide. When we asked for a quote Izet was very responsive and came at exactly the appointed time and gave a very reasonable estimate. Izet and his co-workers (son and son-in-law) arrived on time every day, did a phenomenal amount of work, and repaired the dry rot in our garage, retiled a bathroom and installed a new vanity, patched the cracks in the stucco on an outside wall and around window framing. They also installed a new patio door which required some additional framing work as the new door is larger. We liked them all very much and recommend them wholeheartedly. We were just astonished at how much they were able to accomplish in five days. During this time of the pandemic, we were very pleased that they were careful with masks and physical distancing, and were able to get the multiple jobs done so quickly. In brief, RI Best Construction is an excellent construction company! We had a relatively big project: relocating kitchen to a new floor and demolishing the old one that required a lot of plumbing, gas, electrical, etc + a set of other changes that together was as big as the first part. I am a picky man, and this was our first project of this size. So myself and my wife spent about 8 months interviewing about 20 companies, while at the same time perfecting details of our plan. Some companies (including Izet's) patiently showed up a number of times to discuss our plans (of course before anything was committed or signed from either side). We selected Izet which at that time looked to be just marginally above our second choice. And of course, we signed the contract with a lot of doubts. We ended up liking Izet and his company more and more as time passed. I am a scientist, and therefore I am going to be specific in my review. I hope it helps: * When it comes to work with people, my first and most important criteria in life is to work with nice ones. The peace of mind that nice people around give us is priceless. Some may pretend to be nice, but time unveils who is nice deep down and who is not. Izet is a very nice person deep down. We did not know this at the beginning, but I can attest that now. This is something you can hardly tell when you meet someone for just a couple of times. But in the case of Izet's company, luckily our gut feeling was right. * Izet's company, RI Best Construction, does not have a made-up fancy business face. Some other companies sent us a very friendly and soft-spoken "sales" person, whom when we asked said they wont be here during the work, implying that they are here to get the job. Izet himself showed up the first day. He is a quiet man (not a typical "sales" person you see), and down-to-earth, but knowledgeable: In one of the meetings, We asked him about removing a wall that seemingly had a vertical post support in it (which would make removal very complex particularly in a two-floor building). Though he is often quite and calm, he enthusiastically said there is no post under the painted wall and it is easy to remove it. I looked at my wife and she looked back at me. All other companies we interviewed said there is a post there, or they won't know until they opened the wall that will commence after signing the contract. I asked Izet again, he said he is 100% sure there is no post. I said could you, as a test, open the wall a bit so that we are 120% sure. He said he could, but he is 200% sure. Well, we were skeptical. So, I insisted that he opens the wall before we move ahead (and that was a great sign whether we will move ahead with this company or not). He did, and you guessed right, he was right! there was no post. Izet is very knowledgeable. * I always do things by the book: getting permits, making sure everything meets the code, etc. Particularly, our project was a new kitchen with a lot of plumbing, gas, electricals, etc. Therefore, we asked Izet to get the permit and to do everything exactly by the book or even safer. And he did. Everything went super smoothly. He did all the work for the permit himself, went to different offices, got all the paperwork done (I would just show up in this city office and that city office from time to time to sign papers). He arranged for all inspection and we only got "Approved" signatures on the forms periodically, without any issues. Izet knows the construction codes very well and follows them. * We had this experience with a few other companies that once you sign a contract, then it gets complicated. They are not responsive, they come up with excuses that you need to pay more for things that you think should be naturally included, and god forbid you want to make a slight change to the plan, and they are going to charge you an unbelievable amount. And midway you have no choice to give up or to pay. With IR Best Construction, it was exactly opposite. Izet himself was always responsive. In fact, nothing changed after we signed the contract and paid the deposit. Conversations continued just as before. And we made changes along the way (not major, but not too minor). Izet was very accommodating, and gives us fair quotes for additional work. * In summary, we had a wonderful experience with IR Best Construction. , I cannot imagine how things could have been done any better: it is beautifully done, carefully done, meets all codes, and lasting so far (1.5 year) with absolutely zero issues. He was super responsive, reasonably priced, and easy to work with. When I asked him about an area of the wall along the window that he did not tear out, he said it was dry so there was no need. I told him I trusted his decision, but that PM, he went ahead and took out that section, too, just to make sure. He showed me how dry it was in there. He told me he didn't want me to worry! Izet the owner of RI Best construction is one of the most professional and honest contractors we have ever dealt with. We hired him to remodel our 2 bathrooms and to fix dry rot issue on the exterior of the house. We were extremely nervous at the start of the project because it was a big commitment for us and frankly all the stories we had heard about dealing with contractors from our friends started giving us nightmares. But boy did we make the right choice! RI Best team or should I say Swat team is comprised of extremely talented and dedicated people who show up on time every single day and work extra hours when needed in order to stick to their commitment. Especially Dawa and Enkhe would do work so meticulously as if it were their home. We were on a time crunch with my family coming to town and the project had increased in scope with few things we found along the way that needed to be fixed. But in spite of that, they finished on time by working late and even on Saturdays. The pricing was very reasonable. We had shopped around and got few quotes from contractors with high ratings on Yelp and the pricing was comparable or even a bit less I would say and with no hidden cost which seems to be the problem when dealing with most contractors. Also with the change in scope, the initial pricing did not change by that much. We are extremely impressed and in love with our bathrooms and so are our guests and friends.
