We really enjoyed talking to Alan and learning more the history of the house. And of course we got to meet the head of security, Mr. Cooper! The beautiful surroundings and the inn had a charming, vintage, and cozy touch that made us excited to stay. The owner greeted us warmly, and we appreciated the hospitality after driving all day from San Diego. The room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were able to take an evening swim before settling down for the night. When we woke up, we had breakfast right outside our room in a lovely setup with a garden atmosphere. I appreciated that they accommodated my diet and were more than happy to substitute food options to make me feel welcome. My husband and I decided right then and there that we'd be back for another stay and hopefully a longer one. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway from the city to relax and unwind. And if you're interested in the history of the area, Monica (a fourth generation resident), is a fountain of knowledge... and one of the sweetest people you could ever hope to meet. My wife and I were looking for a unique, relaxing get away, and Wicky-Up delivered just that... it was perfect: charming decor, delightful conversations with Monica and Jack, delicious fruit fresh from their farm... and Sweet Pea- an incredibly friendly pup who will literally lead you on a beautiful, relaxing walk through the almost endless rows of orange trees. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you are doing something similar! The campground has walk up sites. You'll park in a private parking lot and will walk to your site from there. All of the sites are pretty close to the parking lot - even if you have a lot of stuff, it shouldn't be a problem. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. We stayed at site number 6, which was pretty huge. I'd definitely recommend this site, with my only complaint being that the lights to the karaoke bar shine in a little bit. One thing to note is that this campground is not for parties. It is definitely a campground where you'll want to talk in your "quiet" voice. Overall, I'd recommend this campground!

My friends and I stayed here one night for a trip to Sequoia National Park. We would stay here…read moreagain on future trips, especially if you can't get a campground in the park. Here is some comments: Location: It is about 12 min to the front gate of the park, so super close. The campground is right by HWY 190. You can hear the cars but the traffic noise dies down to almost zero at night. There is restaurant/bar across the street which we found enjoyable especially since it was super hot outside! It had good food and drink. Price: It was very reasonably priced though you have to pay additional money for more than more car which it is due on arrival because you can't pay online for it. Staff/Facilities: The camp manager was very nice and welcoming. The bathroom and showers were clean and maintained. (Hot water too in shower!) Our campground was in the center next to others but we weren't disturbed. I included a camp map to help others with choosing a good spot. I would recommend 7/8 as they are in the back away from everything. Also, there is no potable water and while there is a camp store, it was closed when we were there. There are fire pits at each campsite. Overall, we had a good experience and this is a solid choice if you can't stay in the park. Just be prepared for some driving once you get in the park.

The place is pretty rustic - gas lanterns, no electricity, no wifi, no cell service - but it was nice to disconnect for a few days and really soak up the unbelievable beauty of the park. Even though it was rustic, everything was really clean and well maintained. I was nervous about coming up just me and the baby, but as other reviewers have mentioned, the people here are just so warm and welcoming, that we soon felt right at home. In the afternoons, the staff taught a free yoga class. There was even a massage therapist on site. You can feel how much everyone working here loves the camp and being in nature. We ate our meals outside and enjoyed a fire pit in the evening. I'd love to come back for one of the retreats they host over the summer.
