I stopped by RibCrib BBQ & Grill while in town and was looking forward to trying a local barbecue spot. The ambience was actually one of the stronger points of the visit. The walls are filled with decorations and memorabilia, and there are plenty of TVs around the dining room, which makes it a comfortable place for someone dining solo. I ordered the three-meat plate and paid the extra $2.99 upgrade for the brisket. Unfortunately, the brisket was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It came with three slices that were roughly four inches long and quite thin, and the meat itself was very dry. They didn't appear to be much effort to keep it moist. It lacked the smoke flavor you'd hope for from barbecue. Almost felt like it was cafeteria produced and an assembly line for multiple meals, but yet I was maybe an hour before closing and there were three other solo diners plus a large party. I also tried the hot links, which unfortunately tasted fairly plain and again didn't have much of that smoky barbecue character. The St. Louis ribs, however, were actually very good. They were tender and flavorful, but the portion felt a bit light....only two ribs were included, and given how small the brisket portion was, a third rib would have helped balance the plate. The real standout of the meal ended up being the baked beans. They included brisket burnt ends mixed into the beans, and they were excellent. Honestly, I could have happily eaten a double portion of those. The Texas toast felt pretty standard likely the frozen variety warmed on a flat top. I sampled a few of the house BQQ sauces as well. The Memphis-style wasn't really my preference, and the spicy sauce had a bit of heat but it was inconsistent. You'd notice it in one bite and then not at all in the next. Service was okay overall, though it seemed like my server may have gone on break during the meal without handing off the table. I had to flag someone down halfway through to get a drink refill, especially since water isn't offered automatically. The mashed potato's used a breakfast pepper gravy which was odd tasting and you could tell it was a packet powder. Overall, the atmosphere was enjoyable and the baked beans were genuinely great, but the barbecue itself felt inconsistent and especially the brisket. As someone who enjoys cooking barbecue at home, I know how good it can be when it's done right. If anything, I might come back just for another serving of those beans... and maybe to see if they'll share that recipe. Haha read more

I was in town visiting for the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship that my son and his team were playing in. I visited RibCrib BBQ, and I will just say, if I could give 10 stars, I would! OMG. This place totally surpassed my expectations. I had a pulled pork sandwich and the house chips. Both were perfection. I usually don't finish my protein, but there was no way that I was wasting any of this! The coleslaw and BBQ sauce were also great compliments to the meat. Stopped in for supper. Not busy at all. Was greeted and seated in a timely manner. We ordered Ribs, sides were fries, coleslaw, sweet and smoky beans and a side salad. Water with lemon to drink. Ribs were dry and had been sitting under heat lamp, in a warmer or something. Coleslaw had no flavor and soggy. Beans weren't terrible but like paste. Not sure how my husband's fries and salad were. Overall very tasty. I had the motherload. The Brisket and pulled pork were great without any sauce. The link was ok and the chicken was very dry - definitely needed the sauce with the chicken. I tried all 3 sauce, wasn't a fan of the mustard sauce, but the other 2 were tasty. I opted of the mashed potatoes and gravy along with the side salad. Me and my sister and nephew were in town visiting relatives, and we were looking for a decent place to eat. Like, as in, something not found in St. Louis (back home). We went with RibCrib, which is pretty much no different than the Bandana's chain. But it was a typical "corporatized" BBQ place, with a cool atmosphere. Of the many things to choose from the menu, I went with the Club sandwich, which had chicken, and I believe some brisket on it. Very good. The fries were great (portion size too!), and the sauces on the table were all worth it. My favorites were the Carolina mustard sauce and the Ribcrib Hot sauce. Service was great, and everything came out perfect. Would return to any of their locations. read more

The hot link sausage was actually the weak link among the meats, with a smooth, fat-saturated texture that I didn't much care for. The Original BBQ sauce was very good. The fried okra and baked beans were both good but not best-in-class. Service was very good; our order came SUPER fast, and our drinks were kept well-filled. Not to bad, definitely not the best or worst bbq place. Chicken & brisket had pretty good flavor, but were dry. Pulled pork was ok. Ribs were good but over cooked. Seasoned fries were good for fries and the potato salad tasted like it came out of a box, nothing special. The onion rings were good and properly cooked, you could bite into one and not pull the onion out, very crispy. The Mac & cheese was creamy but nothing special at all. Management is completely rude. My family has never had rib crib, and we were wanting to order a family pack, so I called in to see if there was any promos or specials, or maybe an online promo code. We went to our local rib crib and had a nice lunch. There were 5 of us. We had a couple orders that were a bit difference due to personal preferences. The waitress was Sabrina. She was awesome. She took the time to make sure she got our orders just the way we wanted them. The food was really good and super fresh. Knowing that our orders were kind of out of the norm, the kitchen staff even came to the table and checked to make sure everything was as we wanted. I think the cooks name was Josh. Between Sabrina and Josh they checked back often and made sure our dining experience was the best ever. Great food, great staff we will be back. read more

Good enough for what it is. While in Hutch for the day, the family opted for Rib Crib... The restaurant is apparently newer and is seemingly clean and well kept. Food was fine, nothing spectacular- can't say I'll ever crave it again but it was fine for the meal we had. Meats are good - I had the ribs and chicken. Ribs were ok, not a fan of their overall flavor / rub. Chicken could have been a bit more moist. Mac and cheese was pretty good. Service was fine. Prices were fair. I really love Rib Crib and this one was horrible compared to others. The pulled pork was really dry and tough to chew. I had to drench it in sauce and I hate saturating bbq in sauce. The slaw was bad. I think it was old because it didn't taste right. I did like our server. She was very attentive. Probably won't be back though. read more

We spent the day in Hutchinson and decided to stop here for dinner before heading home. I figured a place called the Rib Crib would have some pretty damn good ribs. I ordered the half rack, original ribs. Half of the ribs were so dry it was like chewing on jerky. They were really hard to get through until the last two ribs which were at least edible. These were well over cooked. They did have a nice bark and flavor, I'll give them that. The first back of the Mac N Cheese was good, I would have finished if it wasn't for the long 12in hair coiled around the inside of the container I found cooked into the cheese. The cowboy beans were the saving grace of the night. My wife had the Brisket which was on the dry side, but the sausage was good. The restaurant itself is clean and the service was impeccable is why I am giving more than a star. I don't know if we just ended up there on an off night or if the restaurant lost its passion for BBQ. I'd like to say I'd go back, but there are better BBQ offerings in the area. read more

I have heard of the Rib Crib for years from my friend who grew up in Tulsa. I don't expect for a BBQ place to try and push into the KC market so when we came into hutch we decided to give it a try. The place is clean and streamlined... two things I automatically see as indicators of substandard que. I want to question if the health department even knows that the place is operating. Terrible.. worst Rib Crib I've ever ate at.. Ribs were old and tough... End cuts from a slab that had been sitting in warmer for awhile .. Chicken had the texture of rubber.. I've had BBQ from all the major chains over 42 states as I travel for work.. This by far worst experience.. The place however was clean.. bartender was professional.. The ribs fell off the bone they where so tender. The brisket was Moist and not fatty. Unfortunately there was no flavor. Not a hint of seasoning and it differently lacked any smoke flavor. I was really impressed by the quality of meat from this place. I didn't expect much from a chain. They ribs were really tender and the meat fell from the bones. We grabbed our dinner to go, and to our pleasant surprise without asking for anything other than napkins and plates, they threw in all the sauces, from mild to spicy, wet wipes, silverware and mints. Try it while you can, because I don't think this place will be around long. Not with the variety of BBQ joints already here in #Hutchinslut The food here is good. The establishment is nice and clean. There are hot waitresses with amazing cabooses running around. Great cabooses. But, the food pales in comparison to the Hutchinslut BBQ standards like Roy's or even Dog Wild Pitbull BBQ. This is the Chilli's of BBQ. I thought lunch was rather expensive, but I gorged myself until the had to roll me out in a wheel barrow. I consider that excellent customer service. First time to eat here, I like the atmosphere a lot. We sat in the bar area, other parts of the restaurant were open and casual. The staff was friendly and our server was rent high. I do wish the portions of the sides were bigger I mean it's okra and beans they can't cost that much. Meal prices seem a little high but not enough to keep me from coming back. We have always enjoyed eating at Rib Crib ever since being introduced to it several years ago, so when one went into Hutch we were fairly excited. It's been a good place to take the family, especially on Mondays since on Mondays kids eat free. Only now they don't. With no notice they've apparently canceled their promo, and my family didn't find out until ordering. Will we be back? Yes, but not nearly as often. Other places still feed kids for free, so we'll be taking more business to them and supporting them with adult entrees for the small amount our kid eats in a single meal. read more

Visiting town for business this evening and was looking for some good bbq. Very appealing from the exterior and the interior is tastefully decorated as well. Staff was above average, very prompt and attentive. Ordered the two meat combo with smoked turkey and smoked chicken. Both meats were served luke warm and a bit on the dry side, there was no smoke ring on either of the meats and not much smoke flavor. Had hoped for a better experience, really had high hopes based on the establishments appearance. Have to wonder if this was an isolated incident or a predictable experience. OMG!!! What a plate of crap! The ribs were boiled and not smoked. Absolutely no flavor at all. I can't believe this place is still in business. I was a guest of someone else so I couldn't throw my plate at the worse people in the service industry. The staff was almost as bad as the food. NEVER AGAIN! If you want good barbecue go to Roy's Pit Barbecue, they actually smoke the meat! I had plenty of food left to give my dogs.
