Ricas Pupusas & Mas is hands down my favorite pupuseria in Queens. The pupusas are always delicious and hit the spot every time. I love the wide variety of fillings--whether it's chicharron, chorizo, cheese, or something lighter like loroco, squash, and jalapeño. You can pick up to 1 meat and 3 other fillings per pupusa. There are a few seats inside but it's definitely more of a takeout place.

I haven't had many pupusas in my life but these were some of the best I've ever had! They are freshly made to order and customizable! Loved the variety and how filling they were!!! Cash only

The best pupusas I have tried - Fresh and tasty The owner is absolutely lovely You won't be disappointed! It is a small place but it was clean and the bathroom was also clean ...

Amazing hole in the wall spot. We came in after a long drive and made our own pupusas. I personally had a cheese and bean and a chorizo cheese and jalapeño one. They were both amazing. The cheese is a nice crispy layer allowing you to also taste the other flavors. I liked how thin and small, but still filling these were. Additionally, the beans are amazing and I wish I had gotten more. They have a dark red and an orange hot sauce. The dark red is spicier with the orange being thinner and lighter. Pro tip: mix both hot sauces for ideal taste! This place is 10/10

Spotted this place on Yelp a while ago, and I finally had time to check it out! I only came for the pupusas, but they also offer tacos/burritos and a few other items. The pupusas were great, freshly made and quality ingredients . I wish it had more filling, but overall it was good. They have outdoor seating, which is spacious. It seems like this is a family owned business, they were very nice and informative.

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile as I live around the area and pass by it so many times. I tried it and I must say it was pretty good. I had no idea that pupusas are Salvadoran and Mexican food. Never tried Salvadoran food before so I didn't know what to expect. I asked what was the most popular dish at this place and the person at the front said the pork with cheese and beans. She said that each pupusa should have either cheese or beans in it. I chose different ones and all were pretty good and tasty. It was ready in 15 minutes, gave me some sauce and some purple coleslaw on the side for takeout. All in all I'll probably go back.

I wasn't sure what to get so the host was very sweet in giving me the recommendations and introducing what the foods are!

Delicious pupusas that dare I say taste healthy? My order was fresh and delicious and not greasy like this fried stuffed dish could be and often is. Perhaps because I didn't order one with meat, so maybe that sways the assessment. But either way, my cheese-bean-squash-loroco order was fantastic and so filling! I could not get through an single order of 3 myself. I also ordered a large horchata and it came in a giant mug for dining in. Holy cinnamon! The horchata was one of the better ones I've tasted, and I have traveled to many a spot in the city to find the right recipe. It was hard to decide between horchata and also an array of fresh juice bar natural fruit juices they offer too. Whenever I'm in the area again (*tear* old neighborhood), I'll happily make another visit!

My new favorite papusa spot !! The menu is very big and have not just pupusas but tacos , burritos , tamales and more . They even have Salvadoran breakfast options which you don't see in many Salvadorian restaurants. As soon as I read their menu I was excited. They have not just meat pupusa options but at least 4 Vegetarian options as well I got the mushroom with cheese , chipilin and revueltas and horchatas Everything was so fresh and just made Usually when I get revueltas it's more of pastel inside because the meat beans and cheese are blended but these were a little different. I was able to taste every ingredient in them which is great The place has a cozy out door seating area plastic utensils for you to grab yourself and hand sanitizer located at cashier and of course the workers are wearing masks

Another pupusa eatery in Woodside, another win. Queens deserves many more pupusa options because there just aren't enough of them. Ricas has burst onto the scene to much deserved fanfare and folks are coming in by the dozen. Tasty food certainly has no limits. Let's start with the obvious: these pupusas are excellent. They are worthy from all the hype that has been generated via the NYT article. While they have a myriad of stuffing options, my favorite is probably their most popular: the mixed (revuelta), which consists of beans, cheese, and chicharron. All of them are $3 each. While the pupusas are fantastic, where I have docked a star is with their variety of Mexican fare. The tacos I've experienced were not all that great. I felt that my asada, carnitas tacos were a bit on the small side and definitely lacking in flavor. The same boats for their quesadillas, which certainly feel secondary next to their pupusas. I know it doesn't feel right to rate a Salvadorean joint based on it's Mexican food, but seeing as it's such a prominent part of their menu I had to see what it was all about. In addition to the pupusas, a significant part of Salvadorian cuisine includes tamales. The wet and soggy version that I ordered is not anything new to me but this one was somewhat more bland than when I was used to. Stuffed with a decent bit of meat, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of sauce I could use to give it more flavor. All in all I have every reason to recommend this place. The food is overall very good and the establishment is a family-run affair. I hope that they have a long stay in this neighborhood.

I…read morewas pleasantly surprised that the pupusas were still reasonably priced for a full-service restaurant and bar, at around $4 each. They offer a good variety of fillings. My favorite was the jalapeño and cheese, which have a nice kick to them. The yuca frita was crispy but not oily, and made for a great appetizer before the pupusas. We came during happy hour and took advantage of the drink specials. The red sangria and margaritas were only $8 a glass and they were both strong and tasty, though I preferred the sangria slightly more. The music at Salvatoria was great and made for a nice atmosphere, with current Latino hits playing in the background. My only note, and it's minor, is that the curtido wasn't as good as I've had at other places. They do give you a good amount, but it lacked some of the crunch and acidity that a great curtido needs to balance out the pupusas. Overall, Salvatoria Kitchen and Bar delivers on food, value, and atmosphere. The bill for four pupusas, two drinks, and an order of yuca frita came out to just $45 before tip.

I was already kind of full but the entrees we got were also very delicious. I wish I knew how to cook fish or chicken that juicy but keeping the outside crunchy-crispy. 10/10 for all the food. Idk why but the music was so upbeat and it kept me feel rushed for some reason but that might be just me! Haha The service was great, the water kept getting filled and they were very attentive. Would definitely come back again!

Really great authentic food!…read more There aren't many Guatemalan food spots in Manhattan so Tikal is definitely a gem. Yummy, home cooked, family vibes is how I would describe the food and the restaurant. The owner is also very friendly and service is speedy! We had the chicken en pulique and the chicken was so incredibly moist and fall of the bone tender. The tortillas also seem fresh and handmade which is amazing as well. I loved the cuchito. The empanada is very nice in that it's different from the typical wheat empanadas you see in NYC since it is made of corn. The loroco pupusa is something I would definitely come back for too. Essentially, everything was delicious!

We ordered tacos with beef and some with pork. They were delicious! The grilled skirt steak was fine if you like your steak well done. For those, like myself, who prefer steak medium rare, it was a disappointment. The chicken entrée in a creamy sauce was a highlight. The mixed green salad was unfortunately mostly iceberg lettuce. The sweet plantains were exceptionally tasty, and despite being fried, they were not too greasy. The black beans were prepared differently than we expected in that they were sort of mashed up and very thick rather than whole beans served in a bit of sauce. Nevertheless they weren't bad. The shrimp ceviche was outstanding! Try Tikal - you'll like it!
