This is a very nice authentic Salvadoran place. I have already had pupusas before at other Salvadoran places, so this time I decided to try something different. The main thing I had were the nuegados con chilate. Nuegados are these deep fried disc shaped things that come with a sweet honey syrup. They were okay. They reminded me of hash browns except bigger and harder. The chilate was a corn drink on the side. I did not like it that much because it was very bland. The two other things I ordered I liked a lot. One was a pastel de carne. This was what they call the typical half-moon shaped empanada found in many Latin American countries. It was very moist, flaky, and delicious. The second was an empanada de leche. However, their empanada was an oval shaped fried plantain patty, filled with a sweet milk cream. It was very sweet and very tasty! I also tried a piece of my friend's steak. The steak was also nicely made. It was not dry at all, well seasoned, and thin like I prefer my steaks. Review #451 None Elite Squad My honest Review and to say I've been to many Salvy Restaurants so I played closed attention to every detail to make a good review and here I go 0 1st the seating is super bunched up..you're too cramped up to dine in..or atleast the middle is ..and on 1 side the bathroom is there which is uncomfortable to eat and on the other the kitchen and in and out of the waitresses with plates and dirty plates. 2nd the Customer Service is Horrible. Waitresses and I'm saying waitresses are Rude! Ask another waitresses for anything she says ok and doesn't help you or bring you what you ask. I had a incident where the waitress messed up 1 order..even though we kept insisting we did not order that..there was no way she was going to fix our order..so we had to keep her mistake no matter what 3rd let's review the food, it was ok/good. Pupusas are small.. revueltas are not good in my opinion Bean, cheese and loroco is all beans Chicharon with Cheese is ok The cheese pupusa cheese is super colgate white and the cheese oozes out..as for flavor..good. The rice pupusa was all rice masa and it was ok The seafood soup broth was salty.. it had a leftover old crab leg..the fish piece was small..the clams old..the shrimps were good The Horchata was ok..it was all powder The trip was long and very disappointing.. I know to many New Yorkers think this place is amazing and I think I would think the same if this was the only place I knew that served Salvy Food. A local Mom and Pop restaurant. It's really hard to get a pupusa that has that authentic taste to the ones they make In EL SALVADOR. This is it. The best on Long Island and tri-state. Even how they serve them to you takes you back to central market in El Salvador. read more

Pupusas de queso and loroc are sooooo good! Along with the curtido y salsa. This place is a bit hidden and I probably wouldn't ever had guessed they had such perfectly shaped, and evenly proportioned pupusas. Love them. read more

I love this place, I'm a local and a Salvi, so I know my pupusas and pupusa spots. This places makes great tasting pupusas, hands down. Their curtido (coleslaw-looking thing) comes with jalapenos in it, I love spiciness, their salsa tomate comes with spice as well. I come for that and only that, they make a decent empanada de frijol as well, and I usually wash it down with a banana milkshake. They would get the full 5 stars but there servers are not good. The one main one doesn't know what she's doing, the way she spoke to me when I asked for something was baffling, she tried arguing with me about when to bring me more curtido, I've been a server, I know how it goes, if a customer asks for something within reason, bring it. The young woman at the counter, who rings up pick up orders and everything else, is very nice, she's the exception, though. In short, come for the pupusas but don't expect stellar or quick service, that's not their specialty (you're better off ordering to go.... but make sure they give you plenty of curtido). read more

Cheap and good food. The location is bit shady, but we chose to stay near the airport and this was the closest available restaurant. We do not speak Spanish and the staff did not speak English. However we did a great job communication each with each other. Ended up to be a nice experience as they accept credit cards too :). read more

I love this spot. I come from Bushwick for pupusas and other traditional dishes. The Salvadorian breakfast is one of my favs. This is a humble establishment full of natives (that do not yelp, btw). Reminds me of home. They also run a travel business so a lot of their cheeses, sausage and other products come from the mother land. Traditional Pupuserias from El Salvador do not even set utensils, it's a dish that's meant to be eaten with your hands. If you want authentic flavors and a glipse into Salvadorian cuisine then check it out and you won't be disappointed (unless you order an "American dish"). read more

The food is extremely good. Ive been craving pupusas for weeks now and finally got the chance to come to Marina's. Ive been to the other Salvadorian restaurants in the area and have always left disappointed. The only reason I'm giving them a four was because if Im dinning in, then i should not be getting my drinks in a paper or disposable plastic cup. It was very strange to me. I am salvadorean, quite frankly the food is excellent and the prices are very good pupusas are 1,50 each, you can have a nice breakfast for 7 bucks, my suggestion is to serve Rols with breakfast, in El Salvador breakfasts are served usually with role (Pan frances) not tortillas. I came here With my husband and how rude was the waitress and overall service , I had my elbow on the menu and she snatched it away from under me causing me to bite my tongue how painful was that and if that wasn't enough I was trying to explain something to her and she turned her back and completely ignored me .
