Simple chicken, rice and salad. The chicken is perfectly cooked!

This place is wonderful. It's not fancy. It's not exotic. It's simple food, friendly service and locals only. I've been here twice so far, and every time leave stuffed, with food left on my plate, a sense of calm, and happiness. I've been coming here on my breaks from Jury Duty over the past two weeks, and I cannot believe no one else from the courts frequents this place. Mostly, I've had chicken, always with a tamarin drink. The first time, I tried the basic grilled chicken, which was simple, but juicy and perfectly cooked. It comes with basic salad and rice, and the lady gave me a side of tomato sauce (not Marinara, but a salsa-like fresh tomato sauce). Nothing itself screams at you, but it's just well prepared, and hearty. My second time, I tried the stewed chicken, which was amazing. A-maz-ing. It's a slow cooked chicken, with a bit of sauce, and falls off the bone. So tender! Oh my god. Mix it in with your rice, and this is heaven. Again, simple, home style cooking, which just hits the spot. This time I had a friend, and we split an order of Papusas, which came recommended. They were good, and I had not had them before. Sort of a heavy pancake, with meat and cheese in the middle. My friend has had better in Brooklyn, but said these were more authentic than most, and good. Already stuffed with stewed chicken, I only had a few bites, for fear of exploding. I'll have to try them again. Their homemade tamarin drink is slightly sweeter than I normally like, but the thickness of it actually balanced out the sweet, and I couldn't stop drinking it. It's not too sweet, unlike fast food chains in the area. Try it, for sure. All in all, I highly recommend this place for a low key, delicious alternative to some of the less stellar places a black away, in front of the Court House. It hasn't been packed during jury lunch breaks, and just hits the spot. Friendly service, simple, comforting.

This place is honestly the best!! I didn't know they're CASH ONLY so I went in with only $2, one pupusa was $2.75 after tax but he gave me the pupusa anyway with this amazing spicy Cole slaw. The pupusa itself was delicious an extremely authentic!

I'm so glad I decided to get off the LIRR in Jamaica and grab lunch in that neighborhood on a blistering hot day. The scrumptious bean and cheese papusas at Vina Del Mar (not to mention the kind wait staff, the strong A/C, and the fact that you can't even see the restaurant when walking around the corner, because the awning is small and there is a big tree in front) were so comforting, and transporting. I can already envision myself booking tickets to/from Jamaica Station just to try more things from their menu!

This small place was great. Unbelievable fried chicken correctly seasoned. If you're longing for Spanish food go here

Hidden amongst a neighborhood…read morefull of mainly Korean restaurants, this El Salvadoran restaurant was a true joy to find and try out. They offer a lunch special for $13 but we all opted for the 3 taco set that comes in either beef or chicken that comes with rice and beans. The taco shell was a hard shell and tasted so fresh and crunchy like it was homemade. The meat was juicy and delicious and it was dripping it was so good. The tacos were generously topped with lettuce and slice of avocado. The beans seem like they were blended and very tasty. The only downside was the language barrier. We orders 3 beef tacos and 1 chicken taco and they mistakenly brought out 2 chicken and 2 beef. It was a little difficult rectifying the order. We finally decided to bring the chicken order and order another beef set but it took a while for them to understand us. I think it was just a mistake on the kitchen part since when the receipt came, the order was actually for 3 beef and 1 chicken. All food at the end. We also didn't know what pupusas are so had to try it. Omg! We picked the one filled with chicharonnes and cheese. It was $3. Came with a side of coleslaw and dipping sauce. Soooooo good! The decor is very low key- little but old school. It's definitely a laid back atmosphere.

I…read morewas pleasantly surprised that the pupusas were still reasonably priced for a full-service restaurant and bar, at around $4 each. They offer a good variety of fillings. My favorite was the jalapeño and cheese, which have a nice kick to them. The yuca frita was crispy but not oily, and made for a great appetizer before the pupusas. We came during happy hour and took advantage of the drink specials. The red sangria and margaritas were only $8 a glass and they were both strong and tasty, though I preferred the sangria slightly more. The music at Salvatoria was great and made for a nice atmosphere, with current Latino hits playing in the background. My only note, and it's minor, is that the curtido wasn't as good as I've had at other places. They do give you a good amount, but it lacked some of the crunch and acidity that a great curtido needs to balance out the pupusas. Overall, Salvatoria Kitchen and Bar delivers on food, value, and atmosphere. The bill for four pupusas, two drinks, and an order of yuca frita came out to just $45 before tip.

I was already kind of full but the entrees we got were also very delicious. I wish I knew how to cook fish or chicken that juicy but keeping the outside crunchy-crispy. 10/10 for all the food. Idk why but the music was so upbeat and it kept me feel rushed for some reason but that might be just me! Haha The service was great, the water kept getting filled and they were very attentive. Would definitely come back again!

That makes no sense, especially considering how quickly I called back. Even more concerning, when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, I was told there wasn't one available. That's unacceptable for any business. Instead of helping resolve a simple issue, they made it unnecessarily complicated. Customer service here needs serious improvement.

I was impressed by the large variety of options on this menu. I ordered an empanada to start followed by a mini bandeja. There was nothing mini about it! As you can see by the pic, portion size are not skimpy. Overall, the dish was good, only thing I would change was the steak. Had a little too much fat for my liking. But the chicharron and frijoles were great. The jugo de guanabana was delicious. Empanada was good too, though I would've liked a bit more of a flavor kick. They have a few tables and bar area for indoor dining and a covered section outside. Restaurant was busy, with customers dining in or picking up orders. Seems like a staple for the local community which is great to see. Service was friendly and moderately paced. Will return if in the area!
