Real talk here, I've had the real deal Salvadorian food in my country straight out of the airport upon landing in Olucuilta. Without prejudice, i picked the first pupusa place i saw and i ate there and the pupusas were amazing. The chicharron tasted like real pork, a bit fatty well seasoned and the masa for the pupusas also had a good taste. Having come back from my homeland, i go to Nuria's thinking all is going to be good. Let me start by telling you, if you read the other reviews. Well is true, if you are hungry do hope and pray you get service at your table. Waitress takes long to acknowledge your presence. Longer to put the order and because they do not write the order down they end up giving you items you did not want. I asked for black coffee, i got cafe con leche. I order a variety of pupusas, revueltas, queso y jalapeño, chicharrón and the special with frijol, queso and chicharrón and when they were delivered to the table the server had no idea what pupusas were on the plate. I asked politely if she could tell me and her reply was you did not ask for them to be separated and i didnt put them on the plate. The tamal de elote was extremely dry, not creamy and it was warm at best. The tamal de pollo had better tasting masa but the chicken bones had been crushed inside of the tamal so it becomes a chocking hazard. I asked for tap water and the waitress looked at me and she hesitated to ask and tell me if i wanted bottle water??? Really. I am salvadorian 100% and i am a shamed to say that this restaurant represents the cuisine of el salvador. Honestly they should really rethink their menu. The pupusas were mediocre at best. The chicharron had a lot fat, it was not well seasoned and it probably had parts of the pig that were either meat organ or just raw fat. I end up not eating the chicharron pupusas, what a waste. We got a small container with 2 or 3 ounces of curtido, really? I had to ask for more because it was only enough for 1 person, yet 2 of us were having pupusas. I am highly disappointed that they boast to have amazing salvadorian food when they cannot even make a pupusa correctly. Most places they bring you the drinks and water to the table, here they got it backwards and we got it last and it was the wrong order. Will not come back and waste my money at this place. The chicharron was so bad that it had a gamey taste. Never had such a bad pupusa de chicharrón in my entire life.

We were looking for a great El Salvadoran restaurant along jamaica Ave. We found this place conveniently placed by Van wyck expressway, Van Wyck E train, and the JFK AirTrain station. The food and service was amazinggggg. The portions are "take me home you will not finish me" size. We ordered a lot but the entrees not knowing how huge everything would be. But no complains here!!! From all of the dishes we posted, none can top the other. All bring equally as tasteful as the next dish. 100% recommend the Horchata, and the chicken enchiladas! We will definitely be coming back!!

Ok so l, lets stay off by saying how great the food is here. It's a close by restuarant in the neighborhood I truly enjoy going here for dinner or lunch with my boyfriend. There only one problem with this place, you literally got to go here way before you're hungry because the waiting time is insane for take out or dinning in. How the food is too good so I don't mind but sometimes it's way too long. Kitchen staff is too slow. I enjoy their passion fruit juice.....

The service is really great and the food was good! I ordered the fried snapper with rice and beans and salad. It was filling and I had leftovers for dinner all for $18!

Pupusas (con todo) Carne Asada (entrana)

I've been to the restaurant a few times now and they never disappoint! The pupusas are always fresh and delicious. I also ordered the carne asada meal and the steak was seasoned perfectly! Recently I ordered more from uber eats, and they have never made an error with an order.

Hidden amongst a neighborhood…read morefull of mainly Korean restaurants, this El Salvadoran restaurant was a true joy to find and try out. They offer a lunch special for $13 but we all opted for the 3 taco set that comes in either beef or chicken that comes with rice and beans. The taco shell was a hard shell and tasted so fresh and crunchy like it was homemade. The meat was juicy and delicious and it was dripping it was so good. The tacos were generously topped with lettuce and slice of avocado. The beans seem like they were blended and very tasty. The only downside was the language barrier. We orders 3 beef tacos and 1 chicken taco and they mistakenly brought out 2 chicken and 2 beef. It was a little difficult rectifying the order. We finally decided to bring the chicken order and order another beef set but it took a while for them to understand us. I think it was just a mistake on the kitchen part since when the receipt came, the order was actually for 3 beef and 1 chicken. All food at the end. We also didn't know what pupusas are so had to try it. Omg! We picked the one filled with chicharonnes and cheese. It was $3. Came with a side of coleslaw and dipping sauce. Soooooo good! The decor is very low key- little but old school. It's definitely a laid back atmosphere.

I…read morewas pleasantly surprised that the pupusas were still reasonably priced for a full-service restaurant and bar, at around $4 each. They offer a good variety of fillings. My favorite was the jalapeño and cheese, which have a nice kick to them. The yuca frita was crispy but not oily, and made for a great appetizer before the pupusas. We came during happy hour and took advantage of the drink specials. The red sangria and margaritas were only $8 a glass and they were both strong and tasty, though I preferred the sangria slightly more. The music at Salvatoria was great and made for a nice atmosphere, with current Latino hits playing in the background. My only note, and it's minor, is that the curtido wasn't as good as I've had at other places. They do give you a good amount, but it lacked some of the crunch and acidity that a great curtido needs to balance out the pupusas. Overall, Salvatoria Kitchen and Bar delivers on food, value, and atmosphere. The bill for four pupusas, two drinks, and an order of yuca frita came out to just $45 before tip.

I was already kind of full but the entrees we got were also very delicious. I wish I knew how to cook fish or chicken that juicy but keeping the outside crunchy-crispy. 10/10 for all the food. Idk why but the music was so upbeat and it kept me feel rushed for some reason but that might be just me! Haha The service was great, the water kept getting filled and they were very attentive. Would definitely come back again!

That makes no sense, especially considering how quickly I called back. Even more concerning, when I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor, I was told there wasn't one available. I was impressed by the large variety of options on this menu. I ordered an empanada to start followed by a mini bandeja. There was nothing mini about it! As you can see by the pic, portion size are not skimpy. Overall, the dish was good, only thing I would change was the steak. Had a little too much fat for my liking. But the chicharron and frijoles were great. The jugo de guanabana was delicious. Empanada was good too, though I would've liked a bit more of a flavor kick. They have a few tables and bar area for indoor dining and a covered section outside. Restaurant was busy, with customers dining in or picking up orders.
