He tore up my home, didn't follow code and wouldn't remedy it, but he took my money and caused us more burdens to fix all the damage he did! I feel he prices his work according to your status, gender, what kind of home you have, etc. and takes advantage of unsuspecting folks, even with his "smooth talk" manipulation. They would offer no estimate other that to ensure that I knew they would charge $149 fee to dispatch a truck to THEN get an estimate. Now I provided all the relevant information for materials cost. Sixty feet of 2-2-2-4 cable to connect a sub-panel, wired without a ground by the previous owner, to the main panel. The entire run would be in the crawlspace of the home. We would not be replacing EITHER the main nor sub-panel, but may be interested in a replacement main-panel with disconnect - should the work to connect the sub-panel go as planned. After 30 minutes on-site, I got a call from the dispatched electrician. They wanted to charge $968 to run roughly $100 (at my retail pricing at the home-center NOT what an electrician pays in bulk) of cable. I told them I would pass. Then I get the attached chat from the owner via their website. So they get my $149 for an estimate, and I get a lesson in dealing with so-called experts.

I found Jackson Electric and decided to call them. Mr. Steven Jackson was very professional and let me know that he would contact me the next day to schedule an appointment. Around lunchtime the next day, I got a call from Michael, who said they would be coming in 30 minutes. I had a training to do, but made adjustments so he could come. Three guys with masks arrived to find out what needed to be done. When I showed them what was going on and showed them that I had the replacement, they did the work in about 5 minutes. The workers were very professional, cleaned up after themselves, and the price was very reasonable and I was pleased the chirping had stopped. Unfortunately, about 3 days later, our other smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detector began chirping. I called Jackson Electric again because of the great service we received the first time. He told me that he would contact me to schedule an appointment. The next day, Michael called and said, "We are in your area - can we come now?" Unfortunately, I was unavailable. Michael said, "No problem. Please call Mr. Jackson to reschedule." I tried several times to get in touch with Mr. Jackson to reschedule with no luck. I left a voicemail with times that I was available to help with his scheduling. I left text messages to try and reschedule. My husband called him a few times to try and reschedule. We did not receive a response. My husband ended up calling someone else. I will say that our first experience with Jackson Electric was great. Not sure what happened the second time, though.
