PHO2. Rare Round Steak Pho- Pho and Tai H1. Sizzling Saigao Crepe

We stopped in here for dinner tonight after not eating here for a long time. No real reason why we haven't been here because it's always good! The lady serving us (maybe the owner?) was so nice and even said she recognized us. I love that kind of service, when you almost feel like you're eating with someone in their home. The pho was delicious and my dish, which I'd only had one other time in a different Vietnamese restaurant in Greensboro, was good but not what I expected. I'd seen someone on social media making this dish and it was so crispy! When I had it before it wasn't crispy at all (at the other place), but this time it was. It's a very messy dish to eat because you wrap a piece of the crepe in lettuce with some other toppings, then dip in the sauce provided. Very tasty! They have banh mi and bubble tea so we'll be going back soon.

Ordered via Grub Hub, and I can tell you, they know how to pack a to go order and keep it fresh! Ordered the avocado fries which arrived crispy! It came with a mayo sauce which was not a good match in my opinion, so I swapped it out for my own sweet chili sauce - a much better matchup! Ordered the veggie tofu pad Thai with extra hot sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the restaurant missed the hot sauce note, but thankfully I had sriracha at home! Definitely recommend this dish to anyone who likes tofu! The flavor combo was spot on! This will definitely be a repeat place to order! I can't wait to try it at the restaurant!

Ordered the shrimp sizzling rice plate and fresh shrimp & pork salad rolls. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely cooked. Loved the crispy rice and the light, herb-filled rolls. Cozy spot and solid Vietnamese food. Service was quick and efficient as well

Rice Paper came highly recommended by a friend, and man what a great place to try out. I've been craving "something new", and since I don't eat Vietnamese food very often, this fit the bill. We went on a Sunday night when business is slow, and found the restaurant fairly empty. We were immediately greeted and seated. The service was extremely attentive the entire visit and despite other customers in the restaurant, I really felt like it was personal attention. The decor is cute, with bamboo conical hats hanging from the ceiling, calm oriental themed music, and dim lighting. There are some inconsistencies I noticed, like the menu saying they are open to 10pm, the sign on the door saying 8:30pm, and Yelp saying 8pm. This business owner seems to be active on Yelp since the majority of the images on the business page are posted by them. I would prefer to see more images from actual customers, but that is a minor complaint. I ordered the fresh lemonade, which was sweet but delicious. Notably, beverages do not include free refills which is not a big deal but a deviation from the norm in the region. We started with the shrimp and pork wontons as an appetizer, and while they were a bit oily because they were fresh from the deep frier, they were delicious and stuffed with meat. The accompanying sauce was very tasty as well, and we actually asked for extra later to enjoy on the Pad Thai. My wife ordered the chicken Pad Thai, which was fantastic. Many places I've been to lean very heavily into the peanut flavor to the point it feels like you're eating straight peanut butter, and it was very nice to have a sweet and spicy sauce with just a hint of peanut instead. I would absolutely order again. I had the house special Pho, and they warned me in advance that the dish contained tendon and tripe, which I'm sure is a negative for a fair amount of American customers. However, I knew what I was getting into and I was very happy with how tender and flavorful the dish was. It was a huge portion (I took a whole serving for lunch the next day home) and the meats were extremely tender. The flavor was great, and I really appreciated the spicy and Hoisin sauces on the table to customize it to my liking. We finished the meal with Mango Sticky Rice, one of my favorite treats. I thought it was interesting the rice was dyed green, and the rice was a bit dry and over-cooked, but it still tasted great and we really enjoyed it. Based on first impressions, this establishment looks a bit run down and doesn't readily catch your eye, but I really had a fantastic meal here and am glad I took the recommendation of a friend at face value. They offer online ordering with a drive thru window in addition to the inside dining, so you can enjoy this great food both in restaurant and at home. It's a hidden gem and worth a try!

Lowkey dining room with an old school feel that may not appeal to some but the food was very good. Prompt and attentive service throughout our meal. We started with the hot tea which came out steaming and was perfect for the cold weather. The Spicy lemongrass beef soup was good. Tons of flavor and spice from the chili oil and lemongrass. Healthy amount of beef brisket and Vietnamese ham which reminded me of mortadella. Beef was very tender and the ham was a unique touch. Good portion of beansprouts and basil on the side as well Rare steak and meatball pho was also good the steak was cooked nicely and very tender. Meatballs were juicy and soaked up a lot of the broth. Overall this was a nice meal and i want to come back and try their bahn mi

I went on a Sunday because I wanted to try a dish called hu tieu (dry noodles with the soup on the side). I second guess myself because it was lunch time on a Sunday and there were only a few cars. I went in anyways just to try it out. The decor was nice. But as I sat down, I noticed a lot of dust and windows that needed cleaning. The server was nice, but as I was still looking over the menu and I told him I needed more time. He just stood over me and I felt kinda rush. I got their appetizer tray and the hu tieu. The food was ok. If you're in the area, keep on and pass bye. I will not be back.

I ordered via Door Dash. My food arrived hot. I ordered wings, fried spring rolls, and what I thought was chicken fried rice but it was this chicken noodle stuff. The wings were absolutely delicious. They had this garlic herb sauce and were crispy. However, the chicken noodle stuff and the spring rolls tasted as though they were recooked. The spring rolls were oily and chicken noodle stuff tasted reheated. The flavors were there I just wish it was fresh.

Bún bò Huế...not sure if they really gave me that
    Will R.

Realistically I'd give this a 3.5. Rice Paper isn't amazing, yet it isn't bad nor really bad. They are solid for the most part but definitely lack in the typical Viet flavors you'd expect. Rice Paper has been open maybe three or four years now but not many people know of it. Kind of right in between Jamestown/High Point, it's in the middle of...really nowhere. I've never really been in awe of their food but I can see the effort and is a fair "backup" if you are in that area and wanting Viet food....fairly quick as it doesn't get too busy the times I've gone. The pho was average but very disappointed with their Bún bò Huế. I really don't think it was BBH at all that they gave me and more of a pho broth. It didn't have that sweetness nor spice, no lemongrass, and def not the reddish hue you're used to seeing. The Banh Hoi was pretty decent and the BBQ that came with it was very good. I will give props to this restaurant as you they do offer some dishes you do not find at other Viet locations. Service is good, the food is fair.

Not really a fair standard, I know, but it's what I prefer. So, for something like pho, with such a rich, meaty broth, and often chock full of meat, I struggle to enjoy it at times, despite my love of spicy, savory foods. This is all to say, I was thrilled to find that Pho Hien Vuong not only has a vegetable option (which most places do), but several combinations of just vegetables or with tofu, in either beef broth or a vegetable broth. I don't see that too often. I went the truly vegetarian route, with tofu and their made-in-house vegetable broth. The broth, despite its distinct lack of meat, was rich, flavorful, and deep. There were an abundance of toppings, and in addition to the included tofu and vegetables, I added jalapeño, bean sprouts, basil, lime, chili crisp, and sriracha. It was a fantastic meal, and while I could not come close to finishing the absolutely massive serving, I enjoyed every bite I did eat. Our server was quick and attentive, despite the restaurant being jam packed with a line out the door (a testament to its popularity, and by extension, its quality and value!). Tables were large enough to spread out on, everything was clean, and the volume level wasn't too bad even with that many people. I see many more visits to Pho Hien Vuong in my future.

An unassuming place from the outside, but a great interior space that is clean and inviting. Couldn't believe how fast service was, and how fast the amazing food came out. It was a weekday lunch, but it filled up quickly, and the well oiled machine was running smoothly in here. The food is top notch. Started with a fresh spring roll that was full of flavor. It was huge, no skimping here. And for $2.50 it's a steal. Went with the lunch shrimp pho for $11.50. Everything for lunch is $9.50-$11.50, and the rest of the menu is also well priced. I couldn't believe the size of this lunch portion. Whoever said size doesn't matter in regard to food is kidding themselves. And the size wasn't the biggest surprise...this was one of the best pho dishes I've ever had! The separate plated bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeños, and lime were unbelievably fresh. The beef broth was full of flavor (choice of chicken broth as well), shrimp perfectly cooked, and noodles delicious. I can't say enough about the extra chili crisp sauce on the side. This is gold. Took the flavor to a whole other level. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. This spot is top notch, and the prices are very affordable, especially given the portion size and top quality food. Go...you won't be disappointed.

That disqualifies it from being a hole-in-the-wall, but owing to its location, it is still a hidden gem. The service remains fast and friendly and the food excellent. For this visit, I forced myself to try something other than their stellar pho and went with a fresh roll and a beef banh mi. The fresh roll, filled with shrimp, noodles, and cucumber, was crisp and paired nicely with a peanut sauce. The banh mi's baguette didn't reach Banh Mi Saigon levels, but in fairness, nothing does. It was still a tasty sandwich, offering plenty of beef and toppings (pickled vegetables, cilantro, and jalapenos) alike. I may not get out to this area of Greensboro very often, but when I do, Jakjin is my go-to lunch option. Do yourself a favor and make it yours as well.

Almost everything on the extensive menu is $11 or less, and many in the range of $6-$7 including my sandwich and spring rolls.
