Whenever I crave for soups this is my goto place It has the best pho in town ! I got vegetarian pho noddles it was the best I had takeout but they gave me all the veggies and sauces too !
This place has become our go-to spot and for good reason. Every Thursday my coworker and I come in for the beef stew lunch special, and my partner and I make it a weekly tradition for pho. When a restaurant earns a spot in your regular routine, that says everything. It's a casual, no-frills place but the service is consistently good, the food is always solid, and the prices are very reasonable. The pho is comforting and reliable every single time. Exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot. Highly recommend!
There was a line at about 4:50 waiting for them to open at 5 so clearly this is a popular place. Food came out fast and everything was fresh and tasty.
Pho Hien Vuong had some of the best pho I've eaten, at by far the cheapest price point. Though I'm not truly a vegetarian, I am fairly "meat-averse" at times, and if I eat meat or meat products, I prefer for it to not taste "too meaty." Not really a fair standard, I know, but it's what I prefer. So, for something like pho, with such a rich, meaty broth, and often chock full of meat, I struggle to enjoy it at times, despite my love of spicy, savory foods. This is all to say, I was thrilled to find that Pho Hien Vuong not only has a vegetable option (which most places do), but several combinations of just vegetables or with tofu, in either beef broth or a vegetable broth. I don't see that too often. I went the truly vegetarian route, with tofu and their made-in-house vegetable broth. The broth, despite its distinct lack of meat, was rich, flavorful, and deep. There were an abundance of toppings, and in addition to the included tofu and vegetables, I added jalapeño, bean sprouts, basil, lime, chili crisp, and sriracha. It was a fantastic meal, and while I could not come close to finishing the absolutely massive serving, I enjoyed every bite I did eat. Our server was quick and attentive, despite the restaurant being jam packed with a line out the door (a testament to its popularity, and by extension, its quality and value!). Tables were large enough to spread out on, everything was clean, and the volume level wasn't too bad even with that many people. I see many more visits to Pho Hien Vuong in my future.
This place is a staple of Vietnamese food in the GSO area. I have been coming here for more than ten years and the quality has not decreased, even post-pandemic. I almost always get pho or curry but their vermicelli here is also great. Service is extremely friendly and attentive; and the ambiance is usually very busy and bustling but not overwhelming. There are other Vietnamese restaurants with more "authentic" menu selections but for a good bowl of soup or just a tasty Vietnamese meal in general, this place will not steer you wrong!
It's been so long since I've been here (definitely pre-COVID), but the bigger space was a nice surprise! It meant for quicker seating even during a dinner rush. The food was delicious and the entrees were large portion sizes (aka leftovers, yay!) - the chicken wings were juicy inside and crispy outside. Not everyone in our party could handle spice, so chicken wings with no sauce was our choice. So so good, so I am curious about the sauces now!
I really like this place. The chicken Phó is amazing. The broth is so tasty. The noodles have a great consistency, never mushy or hard. The veggies, chicken, all cook right. The staff are friendly and there were many of them but it did feel a bit cold. The restaurant is decorated nicely and even being very busy it was clean. This one is all about the Phó!
This was my first experience here and omg i will be back. I had the seafood pho and a fresh spring roll . The pho was literally a warm hug in a bowl, like if I were sick I'd want a giant bowl od this. My only complaint was that due to how hot the broth was it continued to cook the squid which unfortunately made it very chewy. Other than that the remainder of the seafood was great. The spring roll was absolutely delicious especially with the peanut sauce and a hit of Sriracha. I cant wait to go back. If it weren't for the overcooked squid this would have been a 5 star
I walked in at exactly 11:01 am to beat the crowd. I've heard this place can get pretty crowded. First thing I noticed is all of the employees were sitting down eating their own food which is always a gd sign lol. Next, the establishment looked spotless and smelled very clean. Decided to introduce my mom to this place as the food is so good. We got ours to go. Food items we chose: shrimp spring rolls, beef drunken noodles, chicken basil lunch soecial with white rice and a spring roll. Food was very very fresh, hot, Flavorful. Excellent and nice customer service. I would totally return, but would eat inside next time around.
We went for my father's birthday. We are got something new except for the Vegetarian Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut sauce that we always delicious. Its one of our favorite appetizer there. This time i got the vermicelli beef salad. It was absolutely delicious. To be honest, I think the leftovers were more delicious then when I got it at the restaurant on Sunday night. It is so why people marinated their food overnight. We were in the main room and it wasn't as loud compare to the back room.
Pho Hien Vuong is hands down the best pho in Greensboro (near UNC). It's always crowded and busy and parking can definitely be a challenge but that's how you know it's good! The broth is rich and flavorful, the portions are generous and everything tastes and smells fresh; especially the fresh green herbs, Totally worth the wait every single time. If you love pho, this will become your go-to!
Love Pho Hien Vuong! Great spot for a quick work lunch. I have not been out here in quite a while and was tickled to see that they finally paved their back parking lot. Parking used to be quite a challenge. They stay busy during lunch but we've never had an issue getting in and out in less than a hour. They have a nice selection of daily lunch specials. My usuals are the beef with onions and green beans or the thin rice noodles with fried tofu. I also love the chicken pho but usually wait until cooler weather settles in to order that tasty vat of delicious soup. Another favorite among my friends is the shrimp pad Thai. Specials come with a fried spring roll and tangy dipping sauce (not served with the pho or veggie street noodles). The spring roll filling has a different filler than what you might expect from your usual roll. It is not my favorite in town but that has never stopped me from eating hundreds of them over the years. Service is always fast and friendly. Make sure to grab yourself a punch card so you can earn a free entree. It is never too loud in the dining room no matter how busy so you are able to carry on a conversation without yelling. I have been eating here for about 2 decades and have never been disappointed. Quick, tasty, reasonably healthy lunch, with good service.
Met a co-worker here for lunch and even though it was really busy, we were seated fairly quickly. The service was excellent throughout. I ordered the shrimp noodle plate and it was fantastic. I noticed they had drinks on the menu too--something I'll have to try another time since this was a work lunch. Judging by the crowd and how smoothly the staff handled it, this place is definitely a hot spot. Great food and great service.

I heard good things about this Thai & Vietnamese Restaurant. So off to Greensboro to check it out. It lived up to the hype. Three separate rooms to sit people. Bright and ample spaces between tables. Service was great and followed up several times to check on me. My lunch choices were: Vietnamese Style Fried Spring Rolls. Shrimp Curry, Fried Rice and lettuce leaves. The Shrimp Curry was amazing. Loved the curry broth spices. So good. I could had just that to be happy! About a 35 minute drive from W-S. read more
Came on sat for lunch. Very yummy. We found this place through reviews. Definitely worth the trip. Appetizers tray is very good , try all of it and figure out what you like. I prefer the fried tofu dipping in different sauces. Mom ordered beef and lemongrass. Very good combination- beef is tender, and the lemongrass Adds another dimension to the savory flavor. Beef pho is pretty normal. Nothing outstanding. I liked my chicken and spring rolls over rice noodle and veggies. Very fresh for the hot summer. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese spots in the Triad. The staff is always so sweet and accommodating, which makes every visit feel easy and welcoming. The ambience is laid back with soft lighting, and depending on what time you arrive, you're either seated right away or there's usually only about a 10-15 minute wait, which is never too bad. The tables are always clean and set with fresh chili oil (super fresh and spicy), hoisin sauce, sriracha, and soy sauce. I ordered the pad Thai noodles with chicken, and it was so delicious. If you're looking for something savory, soft, and really satisfying, definitely try the pad Thai. Their drunken noodles are also up there as one of my favorites. Visited 27 SEP My son brought us here during our Parents Weekend visit to Wake Forest. It was one of the three that he offered up. We chose this one because we don't have good access to Asian cuisine where we live in Illinois. I have always said that you can tell the quality of a specific category of food by seeing the people of its origin dining there. There were people from all walks of life the night we visited. I suspect that is always the case. We had wait of about 30 minutes on a Saturday night, another good sign. The restaurant is in a semi industrial area. The parking is just okay, we got lucky. From the outside it looks no better than any other strip mall type place, do not be put off by that. The interior is fine, but also nothing special, it has the same "style" of many other Asian restaurants. The furnishings are worn, but solid, we sat in a booth. I had pork fried rice, I had been craving good fried rice for months. The taste was spot on, the rice was perfect texture and moisture level. The pork was exceptionally well seasoned, and that perfect amount of tooth feel that I prefer. I like it not quite crispy, and almost as if it is was cooked the day before and reheated. My wife had been craving something with fish sauce (pretty specific), but it is a staple from her childhood. What we have available around us is the commercial americanized version. So she got a Vietnamese street noodle dish. She was very happy with it. The portions are pretty large, she couldn't finish. I didn't finish my fried rice either. My son got his favorite (he has been here several times) Beef Pho. It looked and smelled great and he smashed it all. He and I both started with a fresh spring roll, big fresh shrimp and a great dipping sauce. The prices are very reasonable and our service was effective, even though everyone was hustling about trying to turn the tables over and manage the crowd. It's not often that I have a weekday off while my wife is working, but when I do, I always offer to take her out to lunch. She's always excited when I show up at her office--and this time was no different. That morning, she took a few minutes to look up lunch spots near her office and read through some reviews. After narrowing it down, she suggested something a little outside our usual picks: pho. As it turns out, she'd been to Pho Hien Vuong before with some coworkers. Back when we lived in a colder climate, she had this small tradition she called "snow day, pho day"--anytime it snowed, that was her go-to lunch. Warm, comforting, and just the right kind of ritual to make a gray day feel better. So, Pho Hien Vuong it was. I picked her up around noon, and though the parking lot was packed, we managed to find a spot. Inside, there was a line of people waiting to pay--always a good sign. Despite the crowd, we were seated almost immediately at a window table near the front. From there, we could see more and more people arriving, confirming what we already suspected: this place is popular for a reason. The menu is extensive. My wife ordered the Special Beef and Seafood Pho--steak, meatballs, shrimp, scallops, onions, and beef broth--minus the calamari. I went with the Special Beef Pho, which includes steak, meatballs, onions, and broth. We enjoyed catching up and chatting about weekend plans while we waited. Our food arrived quickly and looked (and smelled) amazing. Neither of us had had pho in quite a while, but we were impressed with how generous the portions were--both in terms of ingredients and the accompanying basket of fresh herbs, lime, jalapeños, and bean sprouts to customize our bowls. Absolutely a great place for Vietnamese food. I came for lunch and I wasn't expecting to enjoy my food as much as I did. For starters I had the wings and spring rolls. The rolls was tasty and crunchy how I prefer, but the wings were fantastic. Great crunch, and taste to them. The lunch was served in Shareable sizes, so big enough for you and company. I had the ribs w/rice and noodles, and Vietnamese noodles with chicken and other vegetables(I can't remember the name exactly). The ribs were amazing really stood out. The noodles tasted really good as well. The chicken was infused with all the flavors from the vegetables and noodles gave it a great taste to follow up with. The service was solid as pretty standard. No complaints and it pretty spacious on the inside. Would recommend for you to try and will definitely try again myself. read more

10000/10 would recommend Pho Hien Vuong! I waited about 20 minutes for lunch on a Saturday which felt very reasonable. After being seated we were waited on and served fairly quickly for how busy the restaurant was. I ordered a fresh spring roll with shrimp and it was amazing. I was nervous to try the dipping sauce but I ended up enjoying it so definitely give that a shot. For my meal I went with the Special Beef Pho. The broth was flavorful and could not have been any better. The selection of toppings was plentiful, with hoisin, hot sauce, and chili oil on the table as well. It was fairly crowded during the meal but it did not feel too loud or overwhelming ever. The servers were quick, knowledgeable, and attentive. I will definitely be coming back the next time I want good pho! read more

This place has always been a gem in Greensboro. Always crowded but they have really good Pho! Surprisingly I didn't want pho when I went, tried something new. The grilled pork plate which was delicious! I asked for extra cucumber and tomato. The pork was flavorful and juicy! The appetizer tray is a must if you're with a group or on a date, great to share. I've been here years ago and I forgot how good it was! Will be back and recommend this to anyone looking for some good Vietnamese food! read more

Always a standout for fresh, authentic Vietnamese food in Greensboro. I tried the combo beef pho, shrimp friend rice, and the Vietnamese-style fried spring rolls. I've tried another Vietnamese restaurant in Greensboro more than a decade ago with a friend but this was our first time in Pho Hien Vuong. We went during weekday lunch time, and were surprised to see how the place was packed; we had to wait about 5 minutes to get seated. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating; and she served professionally with no issues. She even gave us extra condense milk for the Vietnamese coffee when my wife requested for it. I got the Thai tea. Each of the drinks are $5 - Pretty reasonable.. My wife ordered the seafood pho with the shrimps, calamari, scallops, and assortment of beef. I got the special pho with all kinds of beef, but the only negative thing I could say is, "Where's the tripe?" Despite the lack of tripe (or the option to add it), we both were satisfied with our phos. We were surprised to see the generous amount of meat; much more than most phos from other Vietnamese restaurants. The flavor of the broth, enhanced by self-served hoisinsauce and Siracha, is perfect. For our appetizers. we ordered 2x Summer Rolls for $3 each, and since my wife wanted pork on them, we had to pay $1 extra each to get them added. So $8 total for 2 Summer Rolls, which are larger than Summer Rolls we've tried before, so definitely worth it. They come with a good amount of yummy peanut sauce. Next time we might try 1 of their non-pho dishes. We noticed that they also serve Thai food and a variety of rice plates, so we might get 1 of those next time we decide to visit Greensboro. | Overall Score: 4.8/5 read more

Sooooo good, first time trying pho and this was a great first impression. Pictures is the basil wings and all beef pho, I love that it comes with a flavorful base and you add the spice and extras. Service was expert level, with a traditional ambiance. Going to come again when it rains. read more

Still my absolute top spot for Vietnamese, or really the best all around place to get most any cuisine of the Asian variety. They do it all right here. Flavor is on point, price is right, service is efficient, and the place is clean. They continue to set the standard for the area. The Pho is what brings all the people here, and really, you'll have a hard time finding better. It's a giant bowl as well, I have seen that you can upgrade to a "really big" bowl of Pho, and I would love to see what that looks like, or to see anyone finish it. I particularly like the seafood special pho, the beef stew, and just the pork. The lunch specials here continue to be an excellent value, and a must try. For all the reasons above and more, you should make Pho Hien Vuong a top priority for any visit to Greensboro. read more
Yes yes a thousand times yes. This is one of those places where my favorite dish (Tofu Green Beans in Garlic Sauce) is *so* good that I've rarely strayed to other items on the menu. However, when I have, it's always been the absolute heat (especially if you get it Vietnamese or Thai Hot, you brave foodie, you). Indulge yourself in a thousand perfect flavors in a bustling dining area where everyone is enjoying everything in front of them. The staff is courteous and fast, making sure your perfect meal is ready and delicious for you just when you need it. 10/10 goated Greensboro institution. When you live in a city where you have to choose between multiple great Vietnamese and Thai restaurants when you get the craving...well that's just the dream. read more
I was told this place can get really busy at lunch time, but we lucked out and got a table right away. They started out in one portion of the plaza and have kept expanding into the next section of the building until now where the whole building is dedicated to serving delicious pho. The lunch specials are crazy cheap, but for my first time here I wasn't worrying about price. I wanted an amazing bowl of pho and that's exactly what I got. And to be honest, the prices across the board are very reasonable. I started with a fresh spring roll and a fried one. The fresh was huge and packed three whole medium size shrimp in it. It's paired with a small bucket of delicious peanut sauce that was thick almost like actual peanut butter. The fried one had chicken and was tasty as well. For my entree, local legend Erik S recommended the Special Beef and Seafood pho which is loaded with rare steak, meatballs, shrimp, scallops, calamari, onions and served in a beef broth with all the fixins on the side. This soup was so good and I was wishing I could have taken leftovers with me because there was no way I could finish it in one sitting. Whenever I am in the mood for a huge bowl of yummy ummy, AMAZING pho, Pho Hien Vuong is my spot! I don't know how long Pho Hien Vuong has been established, so let's just say they have been here FOREVER. There is one thing I can tell you, they are ALWAYS consistent. The restaurant is very causal dining and is usually very busy. I normally get carry out, but this time I dined in. The staff was kind and so very helpful. The food arrived quickly and piping hot. The garnishings are always fresh and make something even more magical happen to an already amazing bowl of soup. The shrimp fried rice was plentiful and just as tasty as the pho. Most definitely! They'll pack the soup and the noodles separately so the noodles don't get soggy. As well as all the veggies!
