Rice to go is a one of my favourite lunch spots to pick up one their "Rice Bowls" , but I have also had take dinners her as well and its quite good. Lunch ranges from $5-7 and they have a frequent diner stamp card which gives you a free lunch after 10 stamps (I am on my third card..LOL) Clean and tidy..worth checking out.

Worst Chinese food i have ever had. Service was good, but our food was a soggy, overcooked mess.

Really good Chinese food! One of the best I've ever had. Everything was hot and fresh and plentiful. Would definitely return.

I wouldn't say it tasted bad or offensive. I just found it very bland, boring and lacking in flavour.

There is nothing Chinese about this place. Just look at who is taking your order. Food is so-so plasticky.

Always get the rice bowls with general tso or Thai red curry chicken. The pricing is really good and you get a load of food and quickly.

We tried the following Dishes: Bombay Chicken, Hot Sour Soup, Zen Special Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice with Chicken on Top, Manchurian Fish, Hot Garlic Shrimp, Papaya Salad, Thai Green Curry Chicken, Steamed Chicken Momo, Crispy Ginger Beef I normally wouldn't choose to order soup, as I like to fill up on the heartier dishes but I was absolutely blown away by their Hot and Sour Soup. It's not overly sour and to me it was the perfect flavor profile. It was thick and loaded with tofu and chicken. The Bombay Chicken and Zen Special Chicken were both flavorful and unique chicken dishes. The crispy ginger beef was cooked to perfection; i'd definitely order it again. If you're looking for something tasty to drink their mango Lassi is superb. It's sweet and creamy. I loved it! The Thai Milk Tea was also a knock out. It was sooo good!!!

They also have a very nice dining room if you want to eat in. You may notice that The Big Zen seems very, very similar to The Zen, also in Whitby. The owners say there is no affiliation between the two, but it is obvious it is the same place, with the exact same menu and great quality food, just different owners. Highly recommended.

Between the two of us, we ordered much more than we could eat, just to try the food. We had Beef with Broccoli, Singapore Noodles, Roast Duck, and Ginger Green Onion Chicken. Both the beef and chicken dishes were really good. The noodle dish could have used a touch more curry for our liking but it still tasted good. The duck was obviously reheated. The flavour was decent but the texture was a little off. Overall, the food at this place was pretty good. So were the prices and service. We'll be back! PS - They have some great weekday lunch specials for only $8.99 each, including rice.

I recognize the owner who used to manage and work at a different Hakka restaurant a few years back. We ordered takeout there is lunch specials at $8.50 which includes 2 small veggie spring rolls. You can add a pop for $1, upgrade to veggie fried rice $2.50, chicken fried rice $2.75, veggie chowmein $3.00, and chicken chowmein $3.25. Option to add 1 chicken leg or 4 chicken wings or 3 chicken balls for $3.25. Extra Bbq sauce, honey garlic sauce, and sweet and sour sauce $1.25. The owner told me she's been open for 8 months now. I love supporting local businesses especially when they work hard to provide quality food at very reasonable prices. I ordered the chili chicken on steamed rice and sweet and sour chicken. The chili chicken is deep fried and then stir fried in their chili sauce and onions. The heat level was tolerable and the seasoning was just right. The sweet and sour chicken also had deep fried boneless chicken thigh meat and covered in the ultra red sweet and sour sauce. I was so hungry and wasnt able to take pictures of the food. Portion wise, I would say it's fair for the price you pay however I would have liked just a little more chicken in each lunch special. The restaurant is fully licensed and serves beer and alcohol. The dining area has a nice warm caribbean decor. I will try to come next time and dine in because the food is more enjoyable when consumed right away. Overall, I recommend this place if you're looking for some caribbean, Hakka, and Guyanese flavours. Will try other items on the menu like the Lo-mein, Special chicken (fried chicken on top) chowmein, Pepper shrimp chowmein.
