    Pad see ew

The pad see ew was a bit plain. There's not much flavour. I do like the thickness of the noodles. Over all the service was average and the vibes are homey.

Oh boy, where do I even begin? After trying out this restaurant almost 4 years ago, it is still considered my favourite restaurant of all time! Since then, I have been recommending this place to my new coworkers and have brought old friends here as well. I have introduced more than 10+ people already and everyone all had something positive to say about the food here. Whenever my partner and I are in the area, we always suggest eating here if we don't have plans to eat elsewhere. Sometimes when I call to order ahead, I would ask the lady for the "Cindy special" and she would know what what I was referring to. My go-to order is the pad kee mao with chicken and made extra spicy. There were times where I was challenged (meaning the dish was spicer than what I could handle) but I always finished it haha. I have tried many other dishes/apps and a few that stand out include: - pad see ew - rhad nha noodles - green curry - mango salad - calamari I have been going here a bit more often, mostly during work breaks and service here has always been the same, awesome and awesome! So in conclusion, I LOVE THIS PLACE.

the khao soi ($18) was pretty good , not best thai food level but i would definitely go again for the price!

    Great spot! Check it out

Easily a FAVOURITE for the entire city. The woman who works here/serving/owner?, one of the most genuine and nicest people. And to top it off: incredible cashew nut chicken. Please check it out if u haven't already. I want it to last as long as possible!

Crispy Fish with Eggplant. Very good!

This place is pretty great. Feels very authentic. I came with a large group and they sat us very easily. Took our orders and our food came out fast and hot. From the others in my group the Curry, Pad Thai and Pad See-Ew were all great. Me and another person ordered the Crispy Fish with Eggplant and it was very good. Cooked extremely well and came with a side of rice. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone that wants to try something different than Pad-Thai. Great food and great service! Not much to complain about :)

Let's summarize that this place as a "hole in the wall" that offers decent and authentic Thai food. We ordered a three person combo for $28 along with a few other items which ended up being too much food. Ambiance is a bit dated, parking is a chore (we got lucky after fighting for a spot on Spadina) but at least the food and service experience was good. If you are looking for affordable and authentic Thai food without the "extras" in a no frills environment, this is a worth considering.

Honest to god the best place for Thai in Toronto! Sure, there are a couple spots that are flashier (and unnecessarily crowded) but their food can't hold a candle to this place. Thai Country Kitchen is unbelievably authentic and warm. Every time I visit, it reminds me of having a meal at my mum's house. Their food is always piping hot, the place clean, and the decor is homespun. Truly a gem in Toronto eateries!

Shrimp chips & pineapple fried rice

Came here on a Tuesday night with a girlfriend to catch up - it was great! Not too busy, but kind of hard to find, and the signage is super purple - not really what I expected but I LOVED it. Service was awesome; there was only one woman manning the cash register and serving everyone their food & water but no one's cup was ever empty & our food came super quick. The restaurant is older & kind of out dated but it's super cute and clean inside. I have absolutely no complaints, there were little elephants on my placemat & hints of Thailand everywhere within the restaurant. The food was BOMB especially for the price. The shrimp chips come with this amazing sauce, that I assume is made from peanuts. My pineapple fried rice was worth the price & the pineapple chunks were big & juicy. Overall, would definitely come back to this place even if I wasn't in the area. Loved it.

+.5 for service Thai Country Kitchen is located in Chinatown, which is losing its China and is evolving to an "East Asia" Town with the abundance of Japanese, Vietnamese, and Thai places. The outside looks a little bit sketchy, but the inside has a decent traditional feel. Their lunch specials are very affordable and are definitely worth the price you pay. I had the pad thai noodles with chicken, which is the standard order for me when I'm dining alone for lunch. Their lunch specials come with a single piece of spring roll. The spring roll was quite good, definitely of excellent value considering the affordable price as is (under $10 for the entire meal). The pad thai came after, and while I overall enjoyed it, I felt the noodles were slightly undercooked. I like it chewy, but I should not be feeling portions of noodles that felt indifferent from the dry bags you buy from grocery stores. However, the portions were excellent. Service was excellent, and the employees really try to make sure everyone is satisfied with their food. For under $10, this is probably one of the best Thai places out there, and I wouldn't hesitate on returning here.

Lunch special: Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken. Includes a spring roll

12:30 lunch for three on a Monday. Ate at the restaurant. Rating does not take into account take-out or delivery options. There were two other tables of guests, but it was raining heavily outside so that may have had an impact. Interesting decor. Lots of things to see: cultural paintings and statues neatly arranged all over the place. Huge mirror lining along one side of the wall so that you can admire yourself while you eat. Fork and knife is available. No chopsticks provided, but perhaps they may be requested (I suppose this is normal for a Thai place). Lunch specials are available from 11 AM to 3 PM, ranging from $5.99 to $7.99. Ordered the Pad Thai Noodles with Chicken for $7.59. Portion size was decent and the taste was enjoyable (based purely on whether I liked it or not; I do not consider "authenticity") All lunch specials come with a spring roll. The one I received was a fried vegetarian spring roll. It was great; nice and crispy. I think one of our party didn't receive one...but likely it was gone before I even noticed. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend it if you're looking for a budget meal.

Last Friday I made my first visit to the venue; I came with a dining out Social Group for dinner. I decided to order the chicken pad thai noodle selection which was one of the best, if not the best noodle dishes I've had anywhere; quite flavourful, appropriately juicy and a pretty large portion and thereby quite filling for the price. The restaurant is fairly small but quite nicely decorated; darker colours tend to prevail which I believe helps give the venue a bit of an upscale appearance. I was impressed by quite a few other dinner, etc. options on the menu thereby encouraging a repeat visit, and as it's in Chinatown, there are lots of shops and other amenities close by.

Chicken Pad Thai. Looked decent but tasted weird
    Calvin L.

I was craving for some Thai food near Chinatown, so I decided to check this place out due to all the stellar reviews it had on Yelp. I'm a huge fan of hole-in-the-wall type joints that whip out good food for less than expected prices, but my expectations were sadly not met during my visit here. I ordered the chicken pad thai, which is my usual choice when trying out a Thai restaurant for the first time. The dish looked good in appearance, but it tasted a bit off after the first few bites. Each component of the Pad Thai tasted like it was cooked separately and then thrown onto the same plate for some reason. The noodles tasted saucier than the chicken, which itself tasted like it was stir-fried in a different sauce altogether. The peanuts in the dish tasted very oily and offsetting too. Overall, it was not an enjoyable experience for my palate. The prices are very affordable, however, but you may be getting what you pay for when you eat here. For the price of the Pad Thai, I feel like I could've gotten a better tasting meal at a generic chain like Thai Express...

I LOVE Thai cuisine!! Thai Country Kitchen is my favorite authentic Thai place. It's very cozy with fantastic, affordable food, and friendly service. Their Pad See Ew was absolutely amazing! Very fragrant of the soy sauce flavor and cooked perfectly with egg, chicken and broccoli leaves. This truly reminded me of Bangkok street food so it definitely brought me back. Next, their Yellow Chicken Curry was simply delicious! Very coconut creamy with just the right saltiness and spicy kick. You could literally drink it up as it's that good! For dessert, you MUST try their Thai iced milk tea and Coconut Mango Rice. You won't regret it especially if you like sweets. Overall, if you love authentic and very affordable Thai food, Thai County Kitchen is a hidden gem that you MUST try!

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.
