I have been considering a Breast Augmentation and possibly some body contouring, but I wanted to talk to a doctor and see what options would be best for my body. I'd been struggling a bit with medications causing some weight gain. After talking to a friend whom had augmentation with Dr. Baxter about 10 years ago and I thought I would contact this doctor as she spoke highly of him. I was hoping he would consult with me and we could collaborate and come up with a solution that would help with my body concerns. In any case, I went to their website and submitted a request for contact. The next day I received an e-mail from their "Patient Care Coordinator" whom asked me in, essentially, her initial contact my age, weight, and height. She stated that she was interested in my BMI. When I told her that I was slightly (3 points) over the BMI she had mentioned in her Email she was looking for she basically responded with a message saying "No thanks, Good luck!". So ... BMI is sort of arbitrary. It's a number calculated based on weight and height. It doesn't account for body type, bone frame, muscle, or even the overall health of the individual. To make the call that I would be an inappropriate patient over the course of one E-mail is extreme and made me feel that they are only interested in working with a certain type of person and the BMI question was simply a way of filtering their "undesirables". I would suggest anyone contacting this doctor's office to be wary. Things have apparently changed a lot over time. read more

Absolutely 5 Stars for Dr, Baxter. Dr Baxter is an artists and a caring person. I have been very pleased with how Dr. Baxter views his practice because he is able to listen very well, and deliver the kind of results that were asked for. Dr. Baxter genuinely wants each person to leave his office with a successful result. Re-working an augmentation is obviously more difficult, I could not have found a better surgeon to get my breast looking and feeling normal again. Dr. Baxter was willing to take those extra steps to help me get back to a healthy body. I am grateful for finding this amazingly skilled doctor in my local community. I am the mother of 2 beautiful kids, Ages 7 and 17. My first pregnancy was rough and I had severe pregnancy induced hypertension which led to severe Toxemia requiring an emergency C-section at 31 weeks. My son is 17 and very healthy today thank god!! I have always been very active and in very good shape but because of the difficulty with my first pregnancy I gained almost 80 pounds!!! I was also left with a horrible wide vertical scar on my abdomin. I have always been in very good shape but despite losing the weight and working out, I was very subconscious and could never wear a bikini or anything low cut. Because my muscle was cut in half it left it was weak despite exercise. I first met Dr. Baxter 10 years ago when I came to him feeling very frustrated and upset. In addition to my stomach issues I also had what I call saddle bags due to my weight gain and loss. He was very upfront in what he could do for me. He said he had recently been doing butt lifts and he could help!! I was amazed with the results!! He completely got rid of my abdominal scar and repaired the weak torn muscle. He also did the lift and my saddle bags are gone!!! I have no visible scars at all!! This was 10 years ago and my rear end still looks great even after having my second child!! I have since then had breast augmentation with a lift and internal bra using a new silk matrix. My breasts look amazing and the scarring is minimal!! In addition, Dr. Baxter has done CO2 laser resurfacing on my face due to the acne scarring I had from my teens. This is even despite 2 course's of Accutane. It looks significantly better and I no longer feel embarrassed and self conscious. I no longer need to wear tons of make up!! I would say the scarring is over 80% better. He is also amazing with botox and I won't go anywhere else. I just want to say "Thank You" to Dr. Baxter for all of his great work and for giving me some confidence back!!! I cannot believe I'm the first to write a review for Dr. Baxter! I was more than impressed with his office and his office staff when I met them more than two years ago. I went to him because I had witnessed his work in the Oxygen magazine for fitness competitors and had also received several recommendations from friends and my own clients as well. I am more than happy with the result of his work. He even made a revision for a previous (less than suitable) procedure. I met Dr. Baxter in 2002 and after he reconstructed and corrected a prior breast augmentation (done by another surgeon) in 2003, I documented my experience in Oxygen Magazine. I have since been to Dr. Baxter for various other procedures including an implant replacement and have also accompanied family when they visited for consultations. Not only is Dr. Baxter an extremely skilled surgeon, but he also has a wonderful bedside manner and will only accept you as a patient if he feels that he can truly make a difference. He has no qualms letting you know if surgery is not a good option, or if he feels that your health or weight are not quite where they need to be in order to undergo surgery. My family and I have always appreciated Dr. Baxter's honesty as he has his patient's best interests at heart. One of my family members was advised that she did need to loose a bit of weight prior to undergoing surgery. The advice was delivered in a very compassionate and non judgemental way with the explanation that being over a certain BMI could lead to an increased risk of complications from surgery. We appreciated that Dr. Baxter wanted to minimize complications as much as possible even if it meant less business for him. Dr. Baxter is surround by a wonderful staff. Lori, his patient coordinator, has taken care of me from my very first visit over ten years ago. She has been nothing but kind, compassionate and caring. There is not enough positive I can say about Dr. Baxter and his staff! I have been insecure about my stomach and love handles since having children. Despite me working out and maintaining a healthy weight, I have always accumulated extra fat in the abdominal area. Over the course of three years I went to three separate consultations with Dr. Baxter, and after the third consultation finally worked up the courage to go through with the procedure. The office staff and nurses were courteous and professional through several phone, email and in person conversations. They helped to ease my nerves and ensured every question or concern was addressed. On procedure day the nurses talked me through every bit of the pre operative preparation and the anesthesiologist was AMAZING, everyone in the room made me feel completely at ease with the situation. The results were quite noticeable right away and continued to improve over the course of the first two months. I did have concerns about some unevenness that I did address with Dr. Baxter at a post operative appointment and he agreed to a touch up procedure. I waited 6 months for my body to heal and just had my second procedure three weeks ago. The results are impressive! All of the unevenness is gone and my stomach looks like I have always wanted it to. I am looking forward to wearing a bikini this summer without feeling insecure about my stomach because of the great work of Dr. Baxter. Thank you to him and his staff! read more

Best plastic surgeon out there in my opinion! I went to 2 other consultations before seeing Dr. Baxter and I am soooo glad I did! I immediately liked the feel of his office (very clean, modern but not pretentious), his staff were very accommodating and made me feel comfortable and most importantly, Dr. Baxter did! I'm very happy with the results of my breast aug. This is the 2nd time I've had this surgery done. The first time was with a different surgeon. Dr. Baxter and his staff are very friendly and made me feel like my individual surgery was a priority. Ive had a few cosmetic procedures and have been on at least a dozen consults. Most offices want you in and out in a hurry. Not being rushed in and out of Dr. Baxter's office was refreshing. Dr. Baxter listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, and ultimately helped me make a realistic decision I was happy with. He didn't try to force his opinion as to what size and type of implant I should get. Pre op, surgery, and post op went smoothly. Results are exactly what I was expecting. I just received Ultherapy at Dr. Baxter's office. As always his staff was amazing and always make me feel comforable. Now don't get me wrong, Ultherapy is NO JOKE and if you are getting your forehead done you need to discuss pain management. If you have a high pain threshold (and I do) than you can get through...but it is only because the technician is so caring and concerned for your well being. I opted no pain management and was caught a little off guard by the zaps into my forehead, but she took her time, checked on me constantly to make sure I was doing okay, went at my pace, never made me feel rushed and had it not been for her professionalism and caring I don't know if I would have done so well. After living years of looking in the mirror and not seeing how I felt after losing 70+ lbs, I finally can look in the mirror, and the person I see is as beautiful as I feel on the inside. I honestly don't know how someone could ever say a single bad word towards Dr. Richard Baxter and his staff! I hope that whomever is reading these will note that the one bad review is by someone who just sent an e-mail and who knows if that was correct. 3 weeks ago I had a bilateral subpectoral augmentation mammoplasty. I went from a small 34A to a beautiful and full 34D. I went in for my first visit, which is considered free, and they answered all of my questions thoroughly and didn't make me feel rushed. It was their goal to not only make me physically safe but mentally and emotionally as well. Making a change towards one's body is a big decision and is one that needs to be completely thought out. Each step from day 1 to visits after my surgery it was nothing but good things. I paid $8,700 for the whole thing. Dr. Richard Baxter operates in a way that no matter how many visits were needed after then they would all be the same price that was agreed upon originally. I went to his office a total of 5 times. 1. Questions-free visit for anyone that just wants to get questions answered 2. Pre-op (paid for procedure and had any and all questions answered) 3. Surgery 4. Stitches out 3 days later 5. Check-up and pictures Dr. Richard Baxter's office provides a very thorough packet that, if read, is very useful! Hi everyone! I have had this unremovable tire around my waist since I was 14. I got hard core into the gym throughout highschool because of it. It would always get smaller, but my arms and legs would have to get hideously skinny from all the dieting and exercise before the tire or "muffin top" would completely go away. I got married 2 years ago to a Coastie who always makes me feel beautiful but the muffin top still bothered me. So, I saved up my money. We were stationed in Seattle last year and I kept my ear out for recomended plastic surgeons for liposuction in the area. The 2 names that repeatedly popped up for quality of work AND affordability were Jourdan Gottlieb and Richard Baxter. I went to a consult with Dr. Gottlieb and was NOT impressed. They said I could pay $5,500 for the procedure---but I would have to be AWAKE through it!!! (NO WAY) And when I showed disappointment with that they said "Oh, well anesthesia is exensive, so if you want to be ASLEEP through surgery, you will have to pay $1,500 MORE!" (like its some kind of luxury!!!) They assured me the 'awake' surgery was only 'uncomfortable' not painful. And that I would be able to feel things going on but not much.' ,,, UHM... Id rather not feel anything.... thanks! Many people in my family have had plastic surgery for one thing or another and they have NEVER been asked to stay awake during a surgery to save the office money on anesthesia! --sumpn's up!ANYWAY- for various reasons I decided if I could have a $500 military discount-I would get my surgery done there---BUT NOPE- they wouldn't honor that. (even though they had given it to others in the past) So guess what? I went to Dr Baxter! His office was clean and the staff were down to earth and friendly. He didn't act 'too busy' to meet with me and answer all my questions'. He listened well. I decided to get my surgery there. His total charge was $4,500--- AND I got to be completely ASLEEP through the surgery! immagine that! Funny, Im sure Anesthesia is just as expensive for Dr. Baxter as it is for everyone else.... Interesting how his patients don't have to charge an arm and leg to be asleep through surgery. Quite a more reasonable deal than the $5,500 AWAKE surgery Gottlieb wanted me to have! PLUS----- EVEN AFTER ALL THAT-- Dr. Baxter gave me a $300 Military discount!!!! Now THATS someone who isn't desperate for cash! I was so pleased with his Staff. Dr. Baxter and his staff are incredible. I have never met such nice people in a doctor's office! For about a year my spouse and I were looking into me getting breast augmentation done because I had wanted it for so long. We found Dr. Baxter through a Google search and Care Credit's search. It just seemed like his name kept popping up. So finally, I called and did my consultation. The nurse was hilarious and kept making me feel better because I was initially nervous. Then I did my pre-op and the other nurse was just as awesome. Even before the surgery, they all treated me so kindly. Dr. Baxter was always very kind too and makes it a point to talk to you and get to know you. He always talks to you about options and sizes and makes sure you're absolutely 100% sure about what you want before proceeding...and the best part is that he doesn't rush you! My post op visit was still great. Even though the surgery was done and paid for, the staff still treated me great! Dr. Baxter and his staff are there for you through the whole thing. I know that if I want work done in the future, I won't hesitate to go back to Dr. Baxter. He and his staff made such a great impression and made me feel so comfortable that I drove 8 1/2 hours from Boise, Idaho and the drive was absolutely worth it.
