This review is over due. I have been going to Dr. Gerardo for the past 3 years. He specializes in treatment of the mouth & throat area. It is hard to describe what he does, all I know is it works! He works inside my mouth and realigns my tongue and teeth if that makes sense. He literally gives me a face lift by manipulating the bones. Apparently our facial bones kind of 'collapse' as we get older and he restores the facial profile. I know it sounds strange but the results speak for themselves! Besides that he has helped me with numerous other issues in my body. He looks at the body as a holistic system and if your shoulder hurts he might treat your gall bladder because everything is related. I guess kind of like the idea behind acupuncture. I see a lot of babies in is waiting room and I know he treats a lot of auto immune patients. He has been doing this for 40 years and you can tell how much experience this man has. I was blessed to be referred to Dr Gerardo by my chiropractor, when he could not treat my twins that have autism... In fact, he saved Yona "baby A 's" life. Yona was globally, delayed in all aspects of physically & mentally... He had "fatal to thrive" as a diagnosis, and all the doctors put their hands up in the air saying "don't know what to do"...And that had me go to go the holistic way with Dr Gerardo heading it Dr G went back to his books in the hurt for the solution for my son!!!! My other twin had a flathead syndrome and he now has a beautiful head. There is so many reasons why we still go to Dr Gerardo as he and I both have scars from Yona's and Tobi's teeth. We do what is necessary to be able to release him from the clenches even if it's a little physical, I was okay with that, because the concept of not having him as a doctor, helping my family live in a somewhat normal lifestyle would be destroyed. I am awe how he can connect with my children and many others that I've seen in his office. The children's innately know that he is helping them that it doesn't feel good that it actually hurts but the after affects you can totally see them relax and be able to... Let's say adjust to the reality of being human. KEEP AWAY from Dr. Gerardo!! After making my initial appointment, my physical therapist advised me not to get chiropractic work because my hip pain from a fall had too much inflammation. So I called Dr. GERARDO's office to cancel my appt. but the receptionist Teresa convinced me to keep it because she assured me that the doctor had many different modalities that could help which did not involve cracking bones. When I went in for my appt., Dr. Gerardo was NOT able to treat me because he said exactly what my PT had said. When I told him that I had already explained that to his receptionist and suggested alternative work he said no, none of those methods would work right now because of the inflammation and instead tried to sell me expensive pills and a support belt. That's it, no service, no consultation. I thought to myself well that was a waste of time (and gas) only to be told to come back when the inflammation went down. YET I was still charged for a FULL visit of $200!!! Wtf? I asked for a refund but Dr. Gerado argued that his time was worth money. I said OK well how much do you think this office visit should cost since you were unable to provide treatment? And aren't you going to take any accountability for your staff misinforming me which led to this mishap? He said he would think about it and get back to me... of course he never got back to me. So unprofessional!!! This brought on a whole onslaught of frustrating and stressful calls/arguments with Teresa, the receptionist, and with his wife, Sarah, who's on staff. At first Sarah seemed to be understanding and told me that she would talk to her husband about approving the refund or discount. At the end she offered a zero refund and when I told her the next step would be to file a small claim in order to settle the disagreement, she completely unraveled and started yelling, insulting, threatening. Not sure why this came as a surprise to her, especially when she made it very clear that she comes from a family of lawyers. If you are seeking a chiropractor who has integrity, fairness, clear communication, and operates from a true intention to help people, stay away from Dr. Richard Gerardo DC! read more

After suffering from TMJ for a couple of years (!) with no doctor/dentist/orthodontist being able to help, I was pretty much at my wits end in pain. Luckily I found Dr Gerardo. Dr. Gerardo was recommended by a good friend. My back was becoming more finicky and then the spasms started, those awful stabbing ones, so I decided to take care of myself and give him a try. I went to Dr Gerardo as I had a bad fall and had a 3rd-degree sprain at my ankle and I had tried to break my fall on the sidewalk with my hand. I was in a high degree of pain and was worried that mobility would be impaired as I had hurt my ankle previously and I had had polio in that leg. After the first treatment and the nutritional advice, he gave me I was able to go back to work the next day and 2 months later I was walking without pain and able to walk the dog! Very shady billing practices. They attempted to charge me $50.00 extra after not seeing Dr. Gerardo over 6 months. I couldn't return after that because of the price gouging. They should make their patients aware of this 6 month period, I'm sure he loses patients because of it. I came to Dr Gerardo with neck issues after taking a dangerous fall that left me with a severe TBI. It was at least 2.5 months of little or no improvement after the accident when I first came in.
