The Mount Sinai Hospital - That's me in the middle a year after my first surgery!

This hospital received me as an international patient, after searching for different hospitals…read morearound the world, Mount Sinai answered and offered to help. That was 8 years ago. With my diagnosis I was put under the hands of the foremost Alfin Vincencio and the Pediatric Pulmonology team at the hospital and had an incredible transition. The first appointment with the Dr I was told I would undergo surgery, a month later I had my first surgery and it went smoothly! The child life specialist are incredibly comprehensive and they have different activities such as virtual activities, art crafts and interactive crafts! They also have a TV program for inside the hospital for kids to watch and participate in through the hospital phone and play games answering the questions given by the presenter. You just have to do research and find an incredible doctor, all of my care has been at this point at Mount Sinai and the experience has been great! Besides child life, there are translators over a device that the nurses and doctors have access to and they will call an interpreter to translate your appointments with your doctor or nurse (even the child life specialists!) So that everything is at your preferred language and convenience! Of course the hospital food isn't the best tasting but its incredibly healthy and you can have a nutritionist if you are hospitalized and if you need you can request specific meals or protein shakes for each of your meals or specific meals. When walking around the hospital, and need accommodations, there are wheelchairs in every entrance of the hospital and you can request the front desk that you need someone to transport you to your appointment! If you need oxygen while your at your appointment, you can ask the doctor for oxygen to be installed for you (speaking about pediatric offices.) Today, I am still under the care of the team and Mount Sinai, everyone has been continuously supportive! Following up next steps for my care and figuring out what's best for me given the fact that I'm battling a chronic condition has been successful. I wish I could give a shout out to everyone! Dr.Ting has been incredibly supportive and guiding through all of this process and I couldn't be more thankful, very professional and comforting. I do not know where I would be without this incredible team that Mount Sinai has. If you are planning to come to Mount Sinai or see Dr.Vincencio or Dr.Ting I will recommend you with my eyes closed! In conclusion, Alfin Vincencio and the whole pediatric pulmonary team is amazing! All the nurses are amazing! Everyone is hard working and want the best for you! Great medical team and incredible hospital that is Mount Sinai!

Well, this when my sister-in-law Pamela Conner was in here after her Cancer Surgery. Many laughs,…read morejokey jokes, good times definitely on a happier occasion. They gave her good quality care. She was glad because if not them doctors would have heard the business. Never had to experience any office care. If Pam was happy we all was happy. Love and miss you.
