My dental hygienist Gloria has the hands of an angel and the most delicate touch ever. My anxiety the first visit could be felt a mile away. I dare say I felt almost relaxed my most recent visit. I had a crown done with my last dentist (and a root canal with her referred endodontist). This led to months upon months of pain far worse than the pain I had before the root canal. I had to go to a different local dentist to fix the problem, but it took months to get an appointment. Expectedly last month I had dread when I was told I needed another crown. I wasn't in pain, but my previous dentist had done such a deep filling that I knew the tooth wasn't going to last forever. They advised a crown before the tooth cracks unexpectedly. I just had it finished yesterday and my mouth feels 100% normal. Dr. Perez was extraordinarily patient making sure to get the fit and bite just right. I left an after-hours voicemail fully expecting to hear back after the new year, but to my surprise, Dr. Birns called me 2 days later on a Sunday afternoon. She had just returned from vacation, was checking messages, and managed to fit me in that following Monday. I couldn't believe my luck and jumped on the appointment immediately. Her office staff was wonderful, and Dr. Birns is absolutely superb. She smoothed the tooth, placed a temporary crown, and sent me on my way. It seems like what I was told (I couldn't get a crown on my back molar because there wasn't enough natural tooth) and what he wrote (I should get a crown to extend the life of the tooth) were not the same. I, being a woman, have no way of remembering what was told to me four months prior because my feeble mind can't remember anything past yesterday. They have to many dentist and they seem to take different insurances because the dentist on Friday does not take my insurance so I have to lose work to go to be insulted by the front desk.
