Didn't fill the oil sump to full on the dip stick. Drive 15+ miles to have an oil /filter change and was a quart low. The service writer was a first class bitch as she always is. I'm certain it's a racial thing because I've observed how she treats black customers and is far different than white patrons. Definitely a reverse discrimination case. Not only does this bitch come with an attitude that's why there's surveillance cameras cause she pisses so many people off they become hostile with her. I have gone to Precision Auto for several years for oil changes, and trusted them. When they checked my car yesterday and gave me a list of things I could do to insure the safe running of the car, I told them to go ahead and do the work. HOWEVER, I was billed 1100 dollars for labor. I asked what the hourly rate was, and whether they could post those rates in future, and for 4 hours of service, and they said the rate was 150 an hour.I had waited in line for hours as they serviced other cars in their first come, first served system. So I asked, how is it that four to even five hours of service came in at 1100 dollars? They hemmed and said that it was also by the particular job. So 150 an hour should have been 600 to 750. They couldn't give me an answer. How did it get to 1100? They did charge full retail for parts but I expected that. Short of it--I'm looking for a new mechanic. read more

Good thing I have another vehicle and that I didn't have to work the next day, or I would not have been able to do that. Then, they called me at 5:09 PM to tell me my car was ready, but they close at 5. What? Then I had to pay another $12 on top of the Groupon. Guess I didn't read the fine print. Low Quality on their repair service on our family vehicle. when our car would not start, we took it to this location. It was not fully repaired and we brought it back to give them a second chance, to see what might have been missing with the original work. Again, the car was "repaired" and returned to us but the repair did not stick - we kept experiencing the same problem. Ultimately, the car was taken to our dealer who quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. We are very unhappy with the work and staff at this location and do not see any value in using them for future repairs. Run, Run, Run away from this place. The work is quality, the price is fair and the workers are friendly! I had a very good experience at Precision Auto. I had been quoted over $1200 at a different place and started looking around elsewhere. Precision beat that quote by a long shot! They charge fairly, and make sure you know exactly what you're paying for. They didn't even charge me for a part they installed since it wasn't extremely necessary! My only suggestion, is to pad the time you tell your clients a repair will take. My car spent an extra day at the shop unexpectedly, which is fine, but I would rather have been told a day and a half of work rather than wait around for it. BEWARE!!! I went there to Precision Tune Auto Care on Broad St, to get a Groupon wheel aliment for my car but didn't purchase the coupon until I got to there to the scheduled appt... The manager Josh said he would accept the coupon without me buying it online, and that was ok with me at that time.. After a 45 minutes of being there the manager told me that they would have to charge me an extra $15 dollars per tie rod, 2 of them to loosen the jam nut. I thought to my self that was kind of funny and I was thinking that it should it be part of the aliment job... I asked to look at my car and the mechanic took a picture and showed and explained the so called problem. I do a lot of mechanical work on my on car but wheel aliments is something that I don't do. I told them that I would take the car home to loosen the jam nuts myself and bring the car back. Then Josh the manager starting saying now that the tie rods needed to be replaced also and gave me another estimate for another $250.00 dollars. I told them no thanks and to drop my car down off of the lift and I will take my car home and fix everything myself and come back for the aliment. I then walked out of the garage waiting and thinking what kind of scam are these guys are trying to pull on me and they should have tried to at least looked at everything that they claimed was wrong and then gave me the estimate. With everything being said, I went home , jacked the front end of my car and seen that one of my tie rods was bent which wasn't bent before. The mechanic must have bent it while he was trying to loosen the jam nut or bent it intentionally to make more work and money for the garage. And also there was a screw in my back tire that I didn't have before arriving to this business. I wish I had checked Yelp reviews before purchasing two Groupons for full synthetic oil changes + windshield wipers; it seems as if this place has really gone downhill. I brought two cars in with appointments and asked to rotate the tires on one. Employees don't wear masks (unless you count the one dude at the front desk's chin mask); no plexiglass at the front desk so you're on your own. The tire rotation never happened and only one of the cars got wipers - tossed in, not installed, and they were the incorrect sizes. Because of the carelessness I definitely won't be back. This review will detail how my experience with this company went to bad, worse, and then unacceptable. If you do not have time to read this in its entirety, the following statement will summarize: if you are a woman in Richmond and are looking for an honest, fair mechanic, do NOT patron ANY Precision Auto Tune shop. From the shop itself to the unprofessional and downright disrespect from "corporate", I have had the worst service of my life. I have gone to this shop for a few years for regular maintenance and have never had an issue. Sterling, the manager, has always been pleasant. I ended up needing expensive work done on my 2017 and Sterling decided to help by calling my manufacturer and confirmed that I had a warranty intact (which I greatly appreciated initially). When the issue was finally decided by the mechanics, Sterling told me that this was NOT covered by my warranty. Being that I've never had any issues with this shop, I did the one thing I should not have done, I blindly trusted what he said. I paid around $400 to the shop to fix what took all of 10 minutes. Later, still having issues, I decided to take my car to the manufacturer. It was here that they told me that I should not have paid anything to anybody because my warranty was still intact. What Sterling told me was false. I went back to the shop in order to discuss this matter, particularly because the ONLY reason why I paid $400 to this company was because Sterling told me that it was not covered under my warranty, so if this were true, I would inevitably have had to come out of pocket for this expense. First, Sterling did not believe me and investigated on his own, which I was fine with. He discovered that it WAS indeed covered, and he apologized. While on the phone with my manufacturer, they suggested that I make a claim through them and could potentially receive a refund. This was frustrating because Precision Auto is who should be issuing a refund for negligence, but to place the burden of another company is downright unethical. Sterling then said that they would "cover" my next couple of oil changes. This was only a verbal statement; he did not do as much as give me a card to recognize his promise. After a few weeks, my manufacture got back to me and stated that they would not be refunding money based off of work another company did, which is clearly logical. I decided to contact Precision's corporate because at the very least, I wanted a refund on the labor of the work unnecessarily done. After leaving a voicemail on 5/28, I was called back and after I explained my experience, was told that I would hear back in 72 hours. Not only have I not heard back (6/8), but I called and left another voicemail, and no one has returned my call. Businesses that violate their customer's trust do NOT deserve to be in business. I will be posting this review everywhere that I can. I have receipts and records of all of these interactions. It is very sad to know that I have not been valued as a long-time customer and I will ensure that any and everyone that I know no longer does business with this establishment. read more

Took my gfs 2017 Civic in a few times for oil changes which were fine but last time took WAY too long which sucked bc we had an appt. When we arrived the receptionist said it wont be long since the techs were back from lunch but the car wasn't even moved in for 1 HOUR AFTER our appt time. Not sure the point of making an appt. We are busy working ppl and our time is valuable so we like to plan accordingly. This time will be our last.....My gf went alone (I was out of town) for new oil & they convinced her to pay $128 for air&cabin filters which is ridiculous.This is how women that don't know cars get taken advantage of. Those filters are NO MORE than $40 TOTAL and they each take LESS than 5 minutes to change. I also paid for new rotors per their recommendaction. since getting the repairs my car makes grinding noises when i apply the brakes. i have been back to that place twice since and the noise has not gone away. i took my car to the dealership recently and they told me the rotors are bad! did they even replace them is my question and why didn't they notice this when i brought it back! i'm going back because they are responsible but after this i will never do business with them again! read more

They installed my brake pad incorrectly the right side had both pads on the inside and outside and the left side had inside pads on both inside and outside. About two months after getting a brand new ceramic brake pads and new routers my car started making horrible clunking noises and took it to a trustworthy mechanic and he told me and showed me how the brake pads were installed wrong and they were dry. He greased the outer side of pads and installed them the correct way and the horrible clunking noise was gone . I called precision and they did not believe me saying they have all certified technicians and to call back and speak to another manager working on a different day. First, let me start this off with the fact that the service writer at the front desk is very helpful. The issues that arose after my vehicle was serviced, were not his fault. I was in Richmond for a conference and I picked up a flat tire. I drove down the road and found the shop open. When I went in I asked the service writer if he could have the tire checked. He did so and found that the *Now was in the wall of the tire. My tires were original and my vehicle has roughly around 30,000 miles. He mentioned that the original OEM tires are about two end their life cycle. We went ahead and discussed pricing, and I decided to go ahead and replace all four tires. Later that day he called me to let me know that the vehicle is ready for pick up. When I picked up, he was out taking care of some other issues, and that I checked out with another young lady. When I got into my vehicle, I decided it was time to go home and drove off. When I reviewed the PSI notifications, all four tires were at different pressure points. I stopped and fix that. A few days ago, I decided to wash my car. When I bent down, that's when I noticed the damage to three of my four rims. There is literally the exact same marking in a circular pattern on the three of my four rims from the install of the new tires. I am mediately, called the technician and informed him of the issue. He asked me to send the photos. I did so. He also said that he would have some sort of resolution by the next day. 10:30 rolls abound and no call. I followed up and had left 2 voicemails at corporate since. After requesting a phone call, no one has reached out. I received a random email from a customer service representative stating that the scratches were "" oxidized, and if there was nothing in their shop that could damage my rims like this. It's a complete farce. They 100% damaged my rims and are now not assisting me, nor have I spoken to someone in person. I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB and seeking legal recourse if I'm not made whole. read more

Worst Experience!! Don't go here unless you like bad service. 1. I showed up for my Alignment appt at 11am which I booked a week ago because they were so busy. They didn't have my appt. They blamed the problem on their 'fill-in' guy's lack of computer skills for making appts. (Do you think maybe he needs some training on how to use a computer?) 2. I dropped off the car instead of waiting. Next morming I went to pick up my car and was told they couldn't work on my car at all because it needed new tie rods before they could do the alignment and they needed permission to do the work. Came in during my lunch today to get a headlight restoration. I had a 1pm appointment that I made as required by the voucher I had purchased. The restoration worked really great, as you can see by the picture. I'd give the experience a solid 3.5 because the effectiveness of the treatment but they need to work on scheduling. They were booking two people at the same time I was told as an offset to people that were not showing up. If both show up though just as it was the case with the 1pm time slot it looks bad when you find out someone else is waiting. too. It really felt like they botched the booking at first. When I first got there I was told the tech was just finishing up lunch and he would talk with me as soon as he was done. After waiting for a while with two other people I inquired and was told he was working on my car. Well he'd never checked with any of us and he certainly wasn't working on my car. He did get right to my car after all that but I think they need to not double book the appointments. I had to get two new tires bc one of tires blew on my '12 Cadillac. I bought 2 new tires here soley bc I thought I could get better pricing. You totally get what you pay for! I was shown 3 (new) screws that supposedly came out of my tires. These people filled up my new tires to 50 & they were only supposed to be filled to 36, I asked them to plug up the back tires which immediately deflated the next day-so I brought it back & it deflated again the day after. I believe they damaged the tires to prompt my buying two more. I did, at Goodyear, as well as have them get the from two tires to the standard tire rating of 36! This location's manager is also their receptionist. Nothing wrong with that, but she was both rude and dishonest. I also purchased the oil change as a "package", per their Groupon offer. At first, she told me that the oil filter wasn't included. That changed, and became that it wasn't included for my car. Ok, then why call it a "package"? And also why charge full price for the non-covered filter? Instead of taking the to show me the exception, she said, "You do it," and then asked that I step aside for the 1 other person who had been waiting for about 3 minutes behind me. Her attitude, words, and tone even came across as racist; uniquely rude, and with no consideration of customer service, let alone the golden rule. 5/29/2021. I made an appointment online for car maintenance at 0800 today. As soon as I arrived I noticed a car was sitting outside with the windows down while it's raining. I came in the building to find an associate with a terrible attitude. He stated that I didn't have an appointment when I have received an appointment confirmation and showed him. Upon arrival the check in process was great and easy and the customer Service was amazing from the lady and gentleman at the desk!! Had an appointment for a wheel alignment at this location, I arrived 30 minutes late due to leaving work a bit late. Nevertheless, I was kindly greeted by an employee by the name of Sterling, who was more than willing to help me out even though they were coming up on closing hours. It took about 1 1/2 hours (which I was made aware of beforehand when I called and made the appointment). By the time the car was ready it was already 15 minutes passed closing time yet Sterling was still very kind and friendly towards me and explained to me everything I needed to know about what was done to the car. Everything went smoothly and me and my car left the shop happy. After going to two garages in The Fan, where we were met with contempt and ambiguity (not knowing when our car would be done, or if they could get to it at all), Precision welcomed us upon arrival--and with a "can-do" attitude. Brian was super professional, laid-back and made sure that the timing of the inspection met our needs. He said it would be an hour, and that worked for me, but it took under 20 minutes! Like everyone else in the state of Virginia we forgot that our state inspection was expired and of course its a Saturday. Everyone I called either laughed, coughed or made it sound like I wanted a Governor's Pardon to get my car inspected. Precision Tune Auto Center not only answered the phone (shockingly awesome - since so many didnt even bother doing that) they also told me if I can drop it off it would get done the same day (on a Saturday)! Its a pain to get to but they were super friendly. Precision got my car inspected and was able to get it done within 3 hours on a Saturday with no appointment. Going forward for quick inspections and little things I will always hit up Precision as my first choice. read more

Cannot recommend Precision Tune enough! My wife and I both go here for everything and recommend it to everyone! The staff is friendly, direct, patient, and honest. We felt that we were treated like humans, not ATMs. The prices are very reasonable and competitive. Check out their website for coupons! For an example, we just went in to get an oil change and asked them to check out the why the engine light was on (free, with online coupon). Turns out the engine light was on because our catalytic converter was dangerously near the end of its lifespan. We got an oil change, replacement of the converter, new rear O2 sensors, a cleaning of the area (forget what this is technically called), 3 windshield chips sealed, a multi-point inspection, and tire rotation for $900, total. I challenge you to find that cheaper elsewhere! Plus, for this service, I'd pay just about anything. You can't put a price on being treated decently. read more

My vehicle has been with Precision Tune Auto Care (Ft Myer, VA) since 12 January 2021. Today is 24 February 2021. It has been a painful experience- from being told they couldn't fix my vehicle and come pick it up, to hold on yes we can fix it. From having the wrong engine delivered, to after receiving the correct engine (I guess), more parts have to be ordered. Why weren't the additional parts ordered while waiting on the 2nd engine. I was told I would receive daily updates; nope, I have to contact them. Every time I do a drive by my truck looks the same- sitting outside with the entire front end ripped off. I'm starting to believe the original statement of, "we can't fix your vehicle, come pick it up" is the truth. On top of this, I called corporate/left a message. After my yelp review the store holds fast to their overreacting and poor customer service. The tire was off the rim because instead of waiting for a tow truck and risk the shop closing before I could get to it, I decided to drive the half mile to the shop (15 mph with hazards on). My tire and rim were ruined by me hitting the curb...I couldn't ruin them anymore. Everyone I have told my story to finds the actions of your store to be extreme and shocking. All have asked if the store was concerned, why didn't they talk to you?? And as I told the gentlemen when I called in on the Monday after to complain about this, I will never return to your store and neither will the many people I share this story with. I called the store to complain and was promised a call back. A call I never received. Somehow the person responding to my previous Yelp review has time to respond to my review but not my call, and yet has the nerve to ask for my continued patronage to their store. I think not! Horrific customer service. Also I was told, the person that handled this situation at the store so poorly, is a traveling service writer which your own staff has made negative comments about in the past when I have been at this location.
