January 17, 2026 I made a purchase on a 2025 Chevy Malibu which was in great condition with a little over 6,500 mile. My salesman was great and I had an awesome experience buying my first car, but the car did not have a jack set, a spare tire and only one key to the car. So my buying experience was great 8 months ago. Sales person and manager were great. I am also a 14 year disabled Navy Veteran. And that's where it stopped. I work night shifts for a power company and walked out to my truck, 2023 Ram 2500 w/ 50,000 mi., and it would not start. Initially I thought it was the battery and came out of pocket $200 for that. No go. I then had to call a tow truck because I needed it repaired quickly and thought, hey I only bought this car 8 months ago maybe the dealership I bought it from will take care of me since they did such a good job when they sold it to me. Boy was I wrong. After being told they were "short on techs" and way backed up, I was I Italy told it wouldn't be looked at until Monday. Okay fine. Then I kept getting told another 2-3 days before it would be looked at. I called asking for the general manager who was out but the Finance Director, Brandon said he could help me. I told him my situation and asked if the dealership would be willing to help cover some of the cost of the labor or part since I was already out $500 for the tow and new battery. He was extremely rude, condescending, and all he cared about was whether I had bought their extended warranty. The 60,000 Dodge warranty only covered certain things but not the starter, however my issue was this was a 2023 $50k vehicle I purchased and a starter should not be going out at 50k miles. He said because I didn't have a warranty I didn't need to get my truck fixed by then and I was welcome to tow it somewhere else if I didn't want to wait. This was not an option and felt like he wanted me to go away. I was frustrated and became more frustrated with him when he continued to basically tell me it was my fault for not getting the extended warranty. He said he would talk to the service and call me back. Guess what? Never heard back from him. Previously I tried to just talk to the sales rep or sales manager I had worked with. Sales Rep was already gone and the sales manager had a gatekeeper who I'm sure never told him I even called. I ended up having the truck towed back to my house after I got off night shift and it took me two hours to diagnose and repair within 2 hours. It was a simple starter replacement. With no lift and minimal tools. 2 hours or less of time is what it would have cost them to get me back on the road after selling me a truck 8 months ago they were not willing to honor their customer service pledge without the absurd amount of money for an extended warranty. I was even willing to pay the $900 they wanted to charge me for a starter replacement. With the tow and starter it still only cost me $500. The only saving grace during the entire time was the Service Rep, Laz, who stayed in contact with me and did everything he could to try and help me. I got to wonder what the work culture is like when they are short on techs and my sales person was gone after 8 months. I hope Laz can find a better company because he deserves better. So, be wary of working with this dealership, they don't care about you or the vehicle you purchase or honoring their customer service pledges on their website. Brandon was probably the rudest and most condescending person at a dealership I have ever dealt with and he is the one in charge of your vehicle financing. Be WARY! Go to Hendricks or anywhere else unless you want to pay for their customer service by buying an extended warranty and adding $100-$200 to your monthly payment. Also, Veterans, go somewhere else, because Brandon could care less I was even a veteran. They don't care about people or the veterans who serve this country. read more

Service Department is awful. My vehicle has been at the dealership for an entire 7 days without finding resolution to my problem. There is no communication with the customer with updates or progress. I have contacted the service department numerous times with no action taken. Five days after the vehicle was dropped off, no contact. I called and was told they could not find my vehicle after it was dropped off by the tow truck. It really speaks for itself by looking at the number of reviews and barely receiving any positive reviews. Management of this dealership speaks by itself in the way customers are taken care. First of all, Brandon as a Sales person is excellent. Really nice guy, very knowledgeable on the car and helpful. He looked after us well our entire visit. If I could rate him as a guy nad sales person, 5 stars. That being said, this dealer is falsely advertising deals and hiding costs until you turn up at the dealership. It is wasting peoples time! I drove 2 hours to take a look at a Chevrolet Equinox EV on the lot today, advertised at just over 40k, a good dealer reduction from the MSRP of 46k. I turned up knowing i would be happy with this price and also knowing that other GM offers for healthcare and owning a Bolt EUV would apply to bring the costs down further. I was not really looking to haggle on the price if the sales price advertised online (both the GM main site and Parks site) was honored. im not naive enough to forget the inevitable dealer admin fees such as registration etc, as they are listed and standard practice. The sales price quoted when asked was over 46k! Actually back at about the MSRP and above other deals I could have got locally. What was not disclosed was the addition of Nitrogen in the tires ($299!) Dealer applied Ceramic coating on the paint work ($1295!), Cross Rails on the roof ($699!), LoJack Tracker plus 3 yr plan ($699), Tint ($299!) and wheel locks ($299!) plus other bits like weather mats (The package they quoted was $695 for a cheaper set than the the GM specific ones that only cost $325!) Granted, one of the online photos had a small section showing some of these listed next to the vehicle window sticker, but this implied all as optional extras you COULD add, not ones they had already done and would therefore refuse to remove! Quote it in the online sales price to set peoples expectations! After spending a good portion of my day in the dealership, they wouldn't budge on price and I left frustrated. The car would have been nice but there are better alternates out there for that price...I just feel they are mis-representing the products they are selling, especially in the case of the 'ceramic coating' which was almost $1300 and not even listed on that ridiculous add on to the window sticker! Chevrolet and GM need to clamp down on this practice from their dealerships as not only are they actually selling competing options (in the case of the weather mats) that are worse and more expensive that GMs. They are also losing customers to other manufacturers. The day after we signed the loan papers the salesman called to say it was a mistake and we wouldn't get it! They never shared when he knew about this change in the offer. I purchased a jeep from this place in Feb. I've purchased 16 new vehicles from 8 states over the past 10 years. here's the disgusting events that took place at this dealership. You'll hear a theme of "I don't know what to tell you" from my many encounters. First the day after I bought the jeep the tail light fell out. I called the sales girl Maddy. She said "that must have been from the previous owner" and have a nice day basically. When she should have said you just bought the vehicle a few days ago let's fix that for you. Then I tried the ac and it blew hot air. I had it diagnosed somewhere else and it needed a new compressor at $1000. Here's where the nightmare began. After days of calling parks with no return calls. I finally brought the jeep in. Demetrius in service "said you'll probably have to pay the diagnosis fee of $175 and who knows if your 3000 mile warranty will cover anything at all" and the usual "I don't know what to tell you". I pressed the issue harder. He refuses to let me talk to John the service manager. We'll get John in a sec. I talked to Chris the sales manager (who I would give a 5 star separate review for if I could). Chris agreed with me and walked me back to service and had them do the diagnosis for free and to order the part. Chris was great! Then service ordered the wrong part. Didn't call me for days. When I finally got to talk to this unprofessional arrogant John guy in service and told him I had to rent a car for 2 days because of your mistake. He hit me with the "we don't have a loner for you and I don't know what to tell you". Instead of finding solutions and apologizing. Just "I don't know what to tell you" is all they have. Of course sales manager Chris again came to the rescue and got me a loner car. When John could have done all of this because it was his and services fault. When I asked for a discount for flying in to purchase, they came back with a nice discount. 1 day away from flying there my son noticed the VIN number did not match the vehicle we inquired about. In order to give us our "deal" they just switched vehicles to an identical vehicle but with almost twice the mileage and its asking price was the "deal" they gave us. Complete "Shell game". This is my first time coming to Royal Chevrolet for their service department. I made an appointment online to have two tires of my vehicle looked over for leaks or holes reference they had been losing air very quickly. I made my appointment at 9:15. I arrived at around 9:20 because I got a little turned around and the service tech at the desk was very kind. I had called and told them what happened upon my arrival. After pulling the car in I gave them my keys and she confirmed what I was having done to the car. I sat for about an hour and a half and she came into the waiting room and told me I was going to need a new tire and they would be done in about an hour. I'm like ok that's fine. It's now 1:15 and I'm still sitting in the service customer waiting area for one tire to be changed. Everyone that came in after me is gone. I'm the only one. I went back out at around 12:30 to check the status and she replied that she was sorry there was an issue with one of the drivers. I said ok. She informed me at 12:30 that they would have the vehicle done within half an hour. That time is here and passed. Yes, I'm a little pissed about the wait, but more so that there is no communication. No one has checked on me or come into say anything. It's pretty ridiculous. I am very pregnant and had other plans today and everything will have to be cancelled. I'm giving 2 stars because at least the lounge area has a tv and several charging stations...There is also a screen above the tv that shows the status of your vehicle. You likely cannot admit to what I'm saying as it would suggest your practices are misleading at best and you are good with that. It is clear you pull people in at a lower price then Jack it up with stuff they don't want, did not request. It's deceitful. I wouldn't buy a truck from your dealership at your price or mine. I've spent $1200 with this repair shop a couple of months ago for an electrical issue. They fixed my car and I was satisfied. A couple of months later (recently) I have a starting issue with my vehicle. One moment my var will start and the next moment it won't start. Very inconsistent and unusual. I brought it back thinking I'd get the same service however I did not. They told me the repair would be $600 for the purge val which would fix the starting issue. I agreed, they told me they fixed it. I paid and the went to pick my car up from their lot. My car would not start at all. They were confused on why it wouldn't start. But I was taken aback because they told me it was fixed. They proceeded to tell me that I had to get the battery cables replaced as well. Mind you at this moment I've been without my car for about 2 weeks. I was frustrated but I agreed to let them fix the 2nd issue to repair the starting issue. Another week goes by and they call me the day before thanksgiving letting me know my car was ready to be picked up. I was happy because Thanksgiving was the next day and I'd be able to travel see family. I paid them another $475. Drove my car home and later that day when I went to start my car. I would not start at all. Nothing worked. The true issue was NEVER fixed at all. I towed it back to Parks Chevorlet and the empathy and will to fix the issue was not there at all. I have been without my vehicle for over a month now. Spent so much money with the company, with Ubers etc. and no resolution. I am very disappointed and just feel scammed. Terrible business. I received a Nissan 370z from them in November with a convertible top. I put 4000 down out my pocket to help feed some people who don't even care when they do shady stuff. My top was leaking almost as soon as I got the car. I called up to Brandon who sold me the car and he told me to call Mike the finance manger who told me he had to get it past the managers and never asked one time. This went on for months and I now in April still have a leak in my car that now they won't fix after giving me the run around because my warranty is over, Shady af. And now after I finally get the car looked at by somebody else (they told me the motor was broken in my top) come to find out they lied again because my motor works perfect! But it's a broken bracket that can't be replaced and I now have to replace the whole top out of my own pocket. They sketchy. Plus I'm out of state and young so I feel like they just are saying "forget that guy, that's easy money" and it's not right. I am writing this review for the Royal Cheverlet service department. So far I have taken my $35,000 vehicle to be serviced twice with warranties I have purchased from Royal. One warranty is for our wheels and tires, the second is for regular maintenance. My first visit took over 9 hours to replace a wheel and two tires. In the 8 hours I personally waited, they only came back once to give me any information. They didn't have the courtesy to stop and talk to me. The man in charge of my car said a few words in passing as he walked by the waiting room. After my husband got off work, he came to relieve me. After another hour and a half, the car was finally done. When my husband noticed they hadn't recalibrate the car's computer, he was told the service techs were gone and that we would have to come back another day. EXCUSE ME!!!!!! We couldn't believe how terrible our experience was that day. My husband YouTubed it when he got home and reset the computer himself. Our next visit was for a simple oil change. Despite having an appointment, it took over three hours. A customer that arrived after us was serviced first. When we complained we were told it was because the other customer was only getting an inspection. This turned out to be a lie. The other customer heard what we were told and said that she was having the same service done that we were. After this experience, I decided to write this review. Royal Cheverlet's service department is subpar. They have shown themselves to be dishonest and uncaring about their customers. My husband and I do not trust them at all. Unfortunately, the warranties we have cannot be used anywhere besides Royal so we are stuck for the time being. But we will never again work with them in the future. The icing on the cake was paying for all the registration fees, etc. and they didn't even provide me with my registration. I called 4 times, sent emails and nothing! Same answer, "we'll look into it and give you a call back." Never heard back from them so had to go to DMV myself. This place is unprofessional and shady at the finest. I check Autotrader every day looking for a low mileage Suburban. On Saturday, April 22, 2023, morning I saw a 2013 Suburban Listed by Parks Chevrolet in Richmond, VA. I called on the vehicle at 10:00 AM, one hour after the dealership opened and spoke to Jaquae. Jaquae informed me that the vehicle was available. I requested additional photos of the vehicle and Jaquae e-mailed me the photos at 11:00 AM. I immediately replied and wanted to purchase the vehicle by placing a down payment on my credit card. Jaquae asked if this was going to be a cash deal and I replied yes, except for the credit card down payment. Jaquae then sent me a text with a summary of the vehicle purchase that included a Lo Jack fee, Doc Fee, Tax and Non Tax Fees. I informed Jaquae that I would purchase the vehicle without all the additional fees since I will be titling and licensing the vehicle in Wisconsin and that I would travel to Richmond in two weeks to make final payment and drive the vehicle to Wisconsin. Jaquae sent me a text that she "will check to see if that is possible". Two hours later I had not heard back from Jaquae and sent a reply text asking " Any update". thirty minutes later Jaquae replied that she is "Waiting to hear back from the person who handles that". I did not receive a response for the rest of the day and called this morning, Monday, April 24, 2023. After leaving a message, and no reply call within one hour, I called back and was connected to Jaquae. Jaquae then informed me that the vehicle was sold Friday night, the day before I initially called. Parks Chevrolet has severe problems in selling vehicles over the internet. First, if the vehicle was actually sold on Friday night, Parks Chevrolet's internal communication is extremely poor and I should not have been told that the vehicle was available on Saturday morning. Second, what is with all the additional fees for an out-of-state purchase. All I need to do is pay the asking price and drive it away. I appears that Parks Chevrolet internet advertised price a bait with the switch adding other costs that are not applicable to an out-of-state purchase. If anyone is interested in doing internet purchases with Parks Chevrolet in Richmond, VA, be ready for the run around and don't plan on completing a purchase in a professional and business-like manner. I arrived - asked Julia who was at the front desk about the car and was invited to wait for a sales person. After 15 minutes William arrived - we discussed the car I had come to see - and he went to get the keys to take me to see the car. Except it was not the car! It was a new but an entry level Suburban. I asked about the car I had been waiting to see and was told it had been sold. I said thank you, but I was leaving. Then William told me the car was, in fact, available. I excused myself and went to talk to a sales manger who was not surprised at all. I can only assume this bait and switch must work at times. Or that they must assume every female walking through the door is at best gullible and at worst stupid. I went to Royal last week and they informed me that I could write a post dated check for part of the down payment this was on a Saturday. I went in there that following Monday to get the final details and they told me they'd call me. I waited until Tuesday afternoon for a call and nothing. I called them and was informed they didn't know how to use the check machine that it was new. Here it is 4 days later and still no phone calls, apologies, kiss my tail or nothing. They also need to inspect the vehicles more than they do since when I test drove one the brakes didn't want to stop and it shook as if the rotors were bad!! Then once leaving the review on Facebook they asked me to call the Supervisor, Steve Hug. I called him and he acted as if he didn't even know what I was talking about in regards to calling him. The most recent update today is that they don't have the checking system they told me they had. So in my opinion the people at Royal Chevrolet are LIARS!! He called to apologize for my experience and agreed that an opportunity was missed to give me the option to purchase the part. He feels as though I should have been given the opportunity to purchase the part while the transmission was dismantled. He has graciously offered to have the torque converter replaced at cost. I swore in this post I'd never go back -- but when someone reaches out unsolicited to make things right they deserve a second chance. Hopefully the rest of the staff can use this as a learning experience. I've changed my rating from 1 star to 4. Hopefully after the repair it'll be at a 5-star rating. 4/5/2018 Sadly a very typical customer service experience with the repair service department of a corporate owned business. I notified the staff prior to bringing my car in that the torque converter was likely the problem. They ran their diagnostic test and confirmed the wave plate was broken and needed to be replaced. This particular item is covered by an extended warranty so they moved forward to work on it. It should be noted the diagnostic test could not detect if the torque converter was broken. While the transmission was out I received a call that the mechanic noticed an engine bolt was broken and in order to save money they suggested replacing it for $150 while the transmission was already out of the car. Certainly makes sense and it was a good decision. It all goes sideways when I get a call the next day and discover that 'oops' it isn't the wave plate apparently the torque converter needs to be replaced. Hmmmm -- you mean the part I SPECIFICALLY mentioned to you before ever bringing the car to the shop?!? How odd. Yes and in order for us to fix it - it's about $1900-2000. Why didn't you simply replace it while the transmission was out -- well we don't want to charge people for parts they don't need. Sure, that would hold weight if I hadn't already told you my mechanic diagnosed the converter as needing to be replaced. In short order I get escalated to Tony the service manager. I explain to him that my point of frustration and where I feel his team dropped the ball was in offering me the opportunity to decide about the part BEFORE putting the transmission back together. I said I should have been given two options - 1. Buy the $500 part and replace it while the transmission is out without knowing for sure it is broken. 2. Let us put the transmission back in and test drive it -- if it is broken the cost for repairs is about 1900-2000. In a rather dismissive tone - I get the standard 'I understand your point and how you feel' response but goes on to say 'there was no reason why my guys should have made the recommendation.' Really?!?! Other than that being the specific problem I mentioned when placing the service request. This is where it got sensational. So Tony, if you were in my shoes how would you like to be treated and what resolution would leave you as a satisfied customer. His very corporate response 'I can't authorize doing the repair for free'. First of all -- are you kidding me?!? I didn't ask for it to be free and let's be honest service manager -- you can. You just won't. He did however offer to 'see about some grant type programs'. To which I was utterly offended. None of this is about my ability to pay for the repair. It is about the fact that this team saw an opportunity to charge someone who wasn't being charged labor fees in a dirty underhanded way to ensure that almighty corporate greed monster gets fed. Royal was paid their ~$150 for the bolt. A bolt. I can guarantee that will be the only money they ever get from this woman. Such a shame, so much opportunity to impress a new customer and create an advocate, instead --you behaved exactly as I expected and lost my business. I've been trying to get my 2016 Tahoe serviced. And found that it's impossible to get through to the service department by phone. I actually had to drive over there once to find out information about my car. Received a text from them within minutes of my arriving home having dropped off my vehicle, it was giving me contact information to help me arrange financing for my repair even though they had not even looked at my car yet. All they care about is the money. There's no customer service. We're strongly advise people to go to a different dealership. I had to go in for an oil change. Mike was the service associate that did all the paperwork. I had an 8:30 appointment and was out at 9:15. I was completely satisfied . I had a previous appointment in December at 7:30 was told I needed to have my wiper blades replaced . Had that done and I was out of there by 8:15. Next I had to have my key fob replaced and I had called to see how much it would cost. The person told me the cost and checked to see if they had the one I needed. I was told it was in stock. Went the next day and the young man told me a different price and said I had to show him my ID and registration. That made no sense to me so I went and again told Mike what he said and Mike called him told him it was available and nothing else was required from me. Mike also quoted the same price for it that I had got the previous day. That was the only negative thing I experienced but I still will give it a 5 star because Mike is a fantastic employee at this dealership and makes sure everything is right . read more
