We ordered from the senior menu (limited dishes) and I got 2 large pieces of fried perch, the salad bar, mixed vegetables for $12. A bottle of beer (Bud) $3. Great service. I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and salad bar. Nothing special, just a frozen beef patty deep fried and smothered with gravy. It was ok. Green beans had not much flavor. Mashed potatoes are homemade but the potatoes themselves were boiled to long. Hubby had all you can eat chicken. He made it through a wing and leg. The outside batter on the chicken was rock hard. The chicken once you could get into the crust to reach the chicken was fine. There is a huge variety of types of food on the menu. Ate here last night. Felt like breakfast for dinner which was the one great thing about this restaurant. I enjoyed my meal very much. The eggs, bacon, waffles were all excellent. My mom ordered a hot turkey sandwich. She didn't enjoy it at all. It comes smothered in a gravy sauce. She said it wasn't very good, and barely ate a few bites. The waitress never checked on us to see if we enjoyed are meal, nor did they ask when we checked out. Would have been a better experience if they had offered to fix the issue. This restaurant has been one of my go to places for quite some time. It was not only close to my home but had great food. Met a good friend here for breakfast since I was back k home. I was a bit disappointed this time around. My food was not really all that warm. While it wasn't ice cold like my toast, it wasn't much better. My egg omelet was the warmest thing on my plate and it was only lukewarm. It had great flavor though. Our waitress was very attentive and I never once had to ask for a refill on my coffee. My friend and I sat for over 2 hours visiting and never once did the waitress appear irritated. Even when we had said we were done with coffee she stopped by a few more times on her rounds just to make sure we had not changed our minds. The staff here has always been friendly. One reason I enjoy this place. You can't beat good service. I suggest heading ti their sister store near downtown where the food and service are both great. read more

My husband and I were driving home from a weekend in Indianapolis when we decided to stop for breakfast. We love family-style restaurants and trying out new places. Wow, we are so glad that we did! Our biggest compliment is to the amazing service. The coffee cups are very small but my hubby never went even 1 minute with an empty mug, and at least 3 different people refilled it throughout breakfast. I think he drank 5-6 cups and he was thrilled. We ordered breakfast and the waitress made a wonderful suggestion that saved $1-2 off my meal. Oh, the cost is the most fair I've seen in a very long time! Iced tea was $1.99 and coffee was $1.69 (or something like that). I've never understood why places will charge as much as $3.50 for iced tea when all it is is water being brewed for some dry leaves. The portion of the meals were fantastic and we definitely walked away satisfied. If I have to say anything negative it's that I requested crispy bacon and hash browns and neither one was, however because of how great everything else was I honestly didn't care. We're looking forward to our next trip to Indianapolis because we will definitely stop here again! read more

Breakfast was awesome. I like my eggs cooked a certain way and they nailed it. Their dinner food used to be good but for the last few years their food has really went down hill. Their using some kind of canned or powdered gravy which is completely awful, I'm pretty sure when they first opened they made everything from scratch. We were in the area for vacation and decided to try Rich's. We tried the Georgetown Rd location. I guess they have two locations. We always try to patronize local restaurants as apposed to chain stores. Both my wife and I were very happy with Rich's. First impression...it was an older building but the interior was clean and well cared for. It seemed to have been painted recently. Staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we walked through the door. I had the 8 oz ribeye sandwich and my wife had the Philly steak sandwich. Both were delicious. Large portions served piping hot. I had their home made navy bean soup and my wife had a salad, again, both good. American fries were an option for a side, which I always appreciate and they had skinny fries and steak fries which was a nice option. My wife had steak fries. We also had an appetizer of fired mushrooms. I'm guessing they were purchased frozen rather than made fresh but still...nothing to complain about. Our server was wonderful. She was cheerful, attentive and able to make some good recommendations.Only two kind of negatives. One, the steak sandwich was presented as just a piece of steak on a bare toasted bun on an otherwise empty plate (the American fries were on a separate plate. It looked sort of naked like that. Not overly appetizing. I will mention again it was cooked perfectly and nice and tender and the waitress quickly brought me the condiments I asked for. The other was that pretty much everything was under seasoned, but I have come to expect that from places that have an older clientele...they probably have a lot of customers on low sodium diets and a sprinkle of salt fixed that soon enough. I;ve been there twice, fist time, service ok, food bland, second time, waited 10 minutes, very few customers, servers standing at register complaining about their job, customers, and other staff members. This place is terrible. We went on the website before going. Prices are 3.50$ more at the restaurant. The service was terrible. All 3 of us were half way through our salad, and 1/4 through the appetizer, when the main entrees arrived. I am 90% sure that the owner buys his meat from walmart. The napkins would have tasted better than the shrimp. The owner sat at a booth, looking at his smartphone the whole time that we were eating. The waitress was so busy, showing the owner how to use his phone, that we had ro pile our empty dishes at the edge of the table, and she still did not come and clear them. I have been to many small town restaurants, where service is kind of expected to be somewhat poor, and food to be mediocre. But for 3 people to eat, and it cost almost 60$, this place is very terrible. read more
