Robs, potato salad, Mac & cheese and of course a big hunk of corn bread

You can not go wrong here. Have been coming here for years. Always so good. Ribs that fall right off the bone. And corn bread. Omg. Best cornbread. Always get some to take home.

Good, old fashion BBQ. All the is smoked and tender. If you're hungry, this is the spot.

The home made Mac and cheese was good and the hush puppies and corn bread were fantastic.

Unfortunately, the service really fell short. It took way too long just to be acknowledged. The hostess was friendly, but the big man behind the counter, looked right past me twice and took another customer's order before mine. Thankfully, a younger gentleman stepped in and took my order, which I appreciated. As for the food, the cheesesteak was very disappointing. It lacked seasoning completely, and the only thing that somewhat saved it was the extra ketchup I added. I couldn't even finish it there, I ended up taking it home and fixing it myself just to make it edible. Being a Philly native, I had higher expectations. The hoagies are actually good, but the cheesesteaks just don't live up to what you'd expect. Overall, not the worst experience, but definitely not one I'd rush back for.

HOWEVER today we experienced 100% unacceptable behavior by the chef (I believe the owner) in the back. My friend, who unfortunately lost her voice, ordered a sandwich through the notes app on her phone to the girl at the desk. Her order was an Italian with diablo and liverwurst. The girl understood it fine, asked some questions but they understood the order. He came to the front and asked to confirm the sandwich with salami, pepperoni, and capicola, PLUS the liverwurst. He told us that's not something he had heard of before but we confirmed we wanted it all on one sandwich and he went back. Seemed fine and understood. When we got to the counter, they had two sandwiches ready for us. We informed her it was liverwurst and she just handed over the one sandwich. Paid and then checked the sandwiches after the confusion. We realized they just put liverwurst and peppers into the sandwich and nothing from the Italian. We went back into explain, talked to the first girl at the counter. She asked "did we write the order wrong?" And I confirmed for my friend, we just wanted to add liverwurst and peppers to the Italian sandwich. She said okay and that they would remake it. Then the owner came back. He gave us a serious attitude and said "I'm not making it that," openly insulted her order by saying "those meats don't go together" and that he wouldn't honor the order despite her already paying for it. I told him "It's what she ORDERED, that's what she wants." He replied "I don't care, I'm not doing it." (A simple "we don't do modifications" would have been totally understandable by us instead of this.) Thankfully, his entire wonderful staff heard. I asked about just paying for the other sandwich so we could combine it at home. The amazing woman at checkout gave us the other sandwich for free. The second star is purely for the generosity and understanding of the staff. We understand it was busy and sometimes things get overlooked, but the behavior from this guy was extremely unprofessional. Their only saving grace was their extremely kind and apologetic staff. Future customers be warned that your preferences are not respected here. A quote from my friend when we were home: "I was half-hoping that when I added the two sandwiches together, it would be disgusting and he might have been justifiable. But it was delicious just as I ordered it." We brought our friend to visit Sea Isle City to show her the best it has to offer, and it's a shame the owner's behavior ruined this experience.
