My table was full of food we had BbQ on our mouths shirts and who cared it was just that good. Bbq tater Nacho platter hits the spot and so does the Street fair corn. Now you gonna need two orders of the cheesy honey butter corn bread. Now for my entree that 12 hour smoke beef rib is the daddy of all daddy but it's soooooooooo damn good. I'm from the South originally and judge BBQ places accordingly so when you claim to be legit BBQ I'm gonna hold you to that. I'm pretty sure this place used to be an Irish Bar and it still has the dark look and feel of one rather than the BBQ place it purports to be. The hushpuppies were very tasty here and the portion was huge, we were hungry and we couldn't finish them all. That's the good news. The bad news is when you lead off a review of a BBQ place talking about their hushpuppies that usually means everything else is sorely lacking and that's certainly the case here. The pulled pork sandwich was a large portion of heavily sauced pork that tasted like the stuff you buy in a tub at the grocery store. For $7 it was a decent deal for happy hour since I was hungry and it was a lot of mediocre food but certainly not worth the $18.95 they would charge during non-happy hour times. However, the pulled pork sandwich is a prize-winning BBQ masterpiece compared to the purported "Sticky Maple Bacon Baked Beans, Cornbread Crumble." At $7.95 this is a must-skip as it turned out to taste like a decent sized serving of mid-grade store brand baked beans with a few small cornbread croutons thrown on top. There was no maple bacon flavor to be found in this tepid offering and in fact I have a free suggestion to this place, I added a little of your mustard BBQ sauce and it improved the flavor so maybe you can try that as well. Service was very friendly here and the place understandably wasn't very crowded around 5:30 on a weeknight. There are lots of food options in and around AC and the various casinos, this place is okay for happy hour only as long as you stay on the HH menu and know you're getting a mediocre at best meal. Otherwise, if you want to replicate the taste of their BBQ pork sandwich, save your money and grab a tub of pulled pork and a sesame seed bun at the store and enjoy. This place served its purpose since I was hungry but I won't be back and at this rate I don't know that it will be around too much longer. Let me start with the super positive! The staff is super attentive, incredibly friendly and get top marks. However the food is absolutely dreadful! The 1/2 rack of ribs was absolutely either not slow cooked or saved and microwaved. Much closer to spareribs at a Chinese restaurant in texture. Their brisket sandwich had the smallest amount of brisket and sauce you could swim in. One of my favorite YouTubers that covers ac recently posted his experience so that was good enough for me . I came in about 2:30 or so it was pretty slow and I was sat immediately. We had an incredible experience at Wild Honey! The food was excellent and our server, Megan, was really extraordinary! My partner had the BBQ ribs and enjoyed them very much. I'm vegetarian but Wild Honey had lots of options for me - I had the crispy brussels sprouts with cotija cheese and honey buffalo sauce and they were amazing! After my previous review I was messaged by the owner Tom. Traveling so much for business means I eat out A LOT and sometimes my experience's are not that great. My original experience here wasn't necessarily bad. I've definitely experienced far worse. What has stood out to me during those times is a lot of places will try to post a response to save face and look like they care, but really they don't and there's rarely any offer to make things right. Well not here! Tom sent me a message to my inbox and told me to reach out the next time I'm in the area. Two months went by and I happened to be celebrating my birthday in the area and I reached back out to him. I told him when I wanted to come and he made sure I was taken care of! Nonetheless, we sat and ordered wings, a salad and Brussel sprouts. The food came out in decent time. The wings were very good. I had the buff al honey flavor and my husband had the Nashville hot. But sauces were very good. The brussel sprouts were burnt. The server stated that this was the way they make them. We were offered to have them removed or replaced. My husband opted to have the BBQ Ceasar salad that I was eating. The salad was good. I really liked the dressing. Although the food was good, the service was frustrating. Our server would disappear and checked on us once because I made eye contact with her. I would maybe order take out from here, but I wouldn't eat in again since it appeared that other tables were having the same issue. Pretty good food, pretty poor service. read more
