The people here are lovely and helpful. The food is really good. Had breakfast here 2 days in a row. Stopped for dinner tonight. Ext time I come here I'll bring a wet wipe to wipe off all the BBQ sauces. I know this is sticky stuff, that's what makes it tasty. But rope the bottle every time you wipe the tables. Still, since the food is good, I'll bear it.
I came for dinner but the only pictures that made it out was the entry way. Once I got inside the inner fat girl came out. My table was full of food we had BbQ on our mouths shirts and who cared it was just that good. Bbq tater Nacho platter hits the spot and so does the Street fair corn. Now you gonna need two orders of the cheesy honey butter corn bread. Now for my entree that 12 hour smoke beef rib is the daddy of all daddy but it's soooooooooo damn good. The cod and chips with that tartar sauce is everything. Don't forget the Mac and cheese and collards green get in belly good...Food is always piping hot and delicious. Staff is great too but the liquid gold what's in the plates lol. Place is big and depending on the crowd can be noisy or just a regular crowd.
I'm from the South originally and judge BBQ places accordingly so when you claim to be legit BBQ I'm gonna hold you to that. I'm pretty sure this place used to be an Irish Bar and it still has the dark look and feel of one rather than the BBQ place it purports to be. The hushpuppies were very tasty here and the portion was huge, we were hungry and we couldn't finish them all. That's the good news. The bad news is when you lead off a review of a BBQ place talking about their hushpuppies that usually means everything else is sorely lacking and that's certainly the case here. The pulled pork sandwich was a large portion of heavily sauced pork that tasted like the stuff you buy in a tub at the grocery store. For $7 it was a decent deal for happy hour since I was hungry and it was a lot of mediocre food but certainly not worth the $18.95 they would charge during non-happy hour times. However, the pulled pork sandwich is a prize-winning BBQ masterpiece compared to the purported "Sticky Maple Bacon Baked Beans, Cornbread Crumble." At $7.95 this is a must-skip as it turned out to taste like a decent sized serving of mid-grade store brand baked beans with a few small cornbread croutons thrown on top. There was no maple bacon flavor to be found in this tepid offering and in fact I have a free suggestion to this place, I added a little of your mustard BBQ sauce and it improved the flavor so maybe you can try that as well. Service was very friendly here and the place understandably wasn't very crowded around 5:30 on a weeknight. There are lots of food options in and around AC and the various casinos, this place is okay for happy hour only as long as you stay on the HH menu and know you're getting a mediocre at best meal. Otherwise, if you want to replicate the taste of their BBQ pork sandwich, save your money and grab a tub of pulled pork and a sesame seed bun at the store and enjoy. This place served its purpose since I was hungry but I won't be back and at this rate I don't know that it will be around too much longer. Note: They reached out soon after my review to say they were sorry to hear about my experience and to offer me a credit to try them again. I'm no longer in town so I can't take them up on it but I appreciate the offer and do hope others have a better experience here.
Today I was in ac staying at the hard rock and wanted some bbq style lunch . I figured I'd give this place another try for lunch . One of my favorite YouTubers that covers ac recently posted his experience so that was good enough for me . I came in about 2:30 or so it was pretty slow and I was sat immediately. The server came over introduced himself and offered to give me a minute to look over the menu . When he came back I ordered a Sam Adams seasonal draft and the bbq pulled pork sandwich with fries . The beer was cold and I enjoyed the sandwich just the right amount of pork and bbq sauce fries were crispy and seasoned well . I'm glad I gave them another shot and will most likely stop by again in the future .
Right beside elevators to Havana tower 2nd floor Tropicana casino hotel. We were on the hunt for affordable breakfast within the hotel and liked it so much we came back the next day. It was something like Boardwalk breakfast, 2 eggs, toast, tator tots for $8.95. There is a Bloody Mary that was perfect taste for $6. This is a great choice within the hotel for breakfast, also offer BBQ for dinner.
I'm always suspicious of a bbq place in a bar setting. I feel as if maybe the food is baked instead of smoked like authentic bbq, or it's just not up to par, and this place was roughly average. What I got: Pork ribs: not bad but not good either, no pink smoke ring on them indicating baked or overcooked. Not tender. Beef ribs: I have had far better beef ribs. This was overcooked, tough, and seemed baked, not smoked. Mac: I feel like most restaurants make bad Mac n cheese. This was good. Just cheesy enough, pasta cooked perfect, nice crust on the top. Cornbread: cheesy cornbread, not sweet. Not my thing. Skip: Fries: not crispy enough, they say seasoned on the menu but they're not seasoned. Boring. Biscuit: giant brick of dough. Nothing special. Butter didn't change it, bland. Overall this is not an authentic bbq place as the meat seems to be baked not smoked. Cook time is off, and I found the meats to be not tender whatsoever, Pricing: HIGH. But you're at a casino resort. It's supposed to be overpriced. Overall: Not up to par with good bbq restaurants. Decent sides, mean not great.

We like to sit at the bar and enjoy the biscuit and cornbread combo from the happy hour menu. We always share this and get something else on the side. This time we chose the Brussels Sprouts and these were the best Brussels Sprouts I've had. They are cooked perfectly! Crunchy and charred on the outside and slightly tender on the inside. Not too mushy-which happens a lot when making crispy sprouts. The biscuit and cornbread combo was delicious too! The bar was almost empty tonight with only one other person there-who appeared to be a regular. We chatted with him and the bartender, who was friendly and helpful!
We had an incredible experience at Wild Honey! The food was excellent and our server, Megan, was really extraordinary! My partner had the BBQ ribs and enjoyed them very much. I'm vegetarian but Wild Honey had lots of options for me - I had the crispy brussels sprouts with cotija cheese and honey buffalo sauce and they were amazing! We also loved the hushpuppies and cheesy grits, and ended up taking some biscuits and cornbread to go. Additionally the strawberry shortcake was really good and we saw a neighboring table have the sundae which looked pretty epic too. The best part of the night was how much Megan made sure we were enjoying ourselves and our food. We felt welcomed at Wild Honey and we will be sure to return.
They are located in the Quarter at the Tropicana Hotel. Kind of tucked away by the IMAX theater on the 2nd floor. They are open from 8 am to about 10 pm pretty much everyday I believe, which is awesome. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner here. They have things bbq. I was with 2 other people so we got a the platter with 3 meats and 3 sides. The brisket and ribs were delicious. The brussel sprouts were also delicious as well as the "big ass" biscuit and cornbread Our server was awesome, Gigi was her name. I was there for dinner but I'd like to come back and try the breakfast.
Outstanding customer service this place is top-notch . The place has bbq on one side and a cafe on the other side and has really good coffee and breakfast treats .
Stopped by on a Wednesday evening. The Manager at the time was playing some GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD ass old school R&B music. It was sooo smooth! We could have stayed there all night just for the music! My Mother got chicken wings & macaroni. She loved them both. I got the combo cornbread and biscuit. We had mixed feelings. I liked the cornbread , she liked the biscuit. Came with butter balls lol I didnt get a chance to order my sirloin until about 20 mins after my Mom... I asked for medium, it came out well. Ended up boxing that to go. It started out interesting with the plates being dirty. But the food was pretty good and the staff was chill and friendly. The beef brisket and beef ribs were amazingly tender, totally worth eating. I'm also glad I got the jack honey Arnold Palmer, tasty.
We ordered Wild Honey Smokehouse to our room and everything was sooo good! The Big Ass Biscuit (yes, that's literally the name ) was huge, buttery and delicious. The big ass Corn Bread was amazing too! The Brussels sprouts were crispy and flavorful, the salmon was seasoned really well and cooked perfectly, and the chicken and waffles were definitely a hit. We also got the kids' pulled pork with fries, which was a nice portion. And the banana pudding?? So good! Even with everything being delivered to our room, the food still arrived fresh and tasted great. We enjoyed everything we ordered and would definitely order from here again next time we are in Atlantic City . read more
We came here for a quick meal after dinner and it was pretty much as expected. There are televisions available for sports near the bar. The menu had a lot of different options. I was in the mood for a grilled chicken sandwich and they were able to accommodate my request. The fries were crunchy and good, and the coleslaw wasn't loaded with mayo. The service was pleasant. Wild Honey will be my new go to spot for breakfast and maybe lunch next time in AC. Its a BBQ joint but they serve delicious country style breakfast! Got the "Big Ass Biscuit" (really, that's the name lol) with Bacon, egg and cheese during my last visit to AC a few days ago. It was very good! The Biscuit was fluffy and so were the eggs. The bacon was thick, meaty and well cooked. It was quite a hefty breakfast sandwich and I'm not complaining. ;-) Service was quick and most of the employees were friendly. I may get a table next time and try more menu items. read more

After my previous review I was messaged by the owner Tom. Traveling so much for business means I eat out A LOT and sometimes my experience's are not that great. My original experience here wasn't necessarily bad. I've definitely experienced far worse. What has stood out to me during those times is a lot of places will try to post a response to save face and look like they care, but really they don't and there's rarely any offer to make things right. Well not here! Tom sent me a message to my inbox and told me to reach out the next time I'm in the area. Two months went by and I happened to be celebrating my birthday in the area and I reached back out to him. I told him when I wanted to come and he made sure I was taken care of! The service was outstanding, everyone was extremely nice. And the manager knew who I was when I got there even though I was a bit early. Made a girl feel a bit special I tell ya! lol! I now need to say god can this place make a waffle! I know someone is probably reading this review and is like come on lady it's a waffle.....I assure you not all waffles are created equal lol! This waffle is the best waffle I've had in years. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Plus it has that old fashioned waffle taste like grandma use to make. The tots are also delicious and this time I dipped them in the two different bbq sauces they had available and they were finger licking good! The bbq sauces are on point and had me almost ready to eat meat again lol! The food presentation was also nice. I love the fact that they offer a late breakfast and they will be my go to breakfast spot for now on when I'm in the area. I do plan on also going back to try dinner again. I need parts of that Carolina gold bbq sauce on some salmon or something! On this trip my husband and I were staying at the HardRock and decided to walk down to the Tropicana for breakfast. It was a bit of a hike however the food and service was definitely worth it. No doubt we would do it again! Thank you Tom and the rest of the crew at Wild Honey BBQ! This place is food and business done right and I'm wishing the establishment many years of longevity so long as you keep that waffle on the menu lol (jk)! I had expectations and they were not met. I got all basic food and nothing was good. The bread pudding was more like a pound cake. The Brussel sprouts were interesting. I don't think I would come back here. They should probably invest in some lights especially after the hostess mentioned she didn't see us after we were sitting there for more than 10 minutes. read more

Awesome Spot! Barista, Ms. Shay M & G. M- Ms. Chris B were so accommodating & hella attentive. Shay recommended the Signature Cheeseburger & tater tots which was delicious . I also got the Pina Colada Layered Cake for dessert, OMFG yummy. This restaurant, reminds me of Nashville, TN atmosphere w/ Willie Nelson, Dolly Pardon etc memorabilia on the walls. The Sports Bar side is very nice too w/ Flat screen T. V's so u don't miss ur games. This location can be found inside of Tropicana Hotel/Casino, 2801 Pacific Ave Ste 303. It's actually on the 2nd level pass or above Carmines Restaurant in the back near Water Fountain Blue/ White Chevrolet Cuba car replica. read more
Made a reservation here on Open Table and the hostess never checked me in so I got the nasty email from Open Table. We sat down and looked over the menu. The waitress came over and we asked her for her suggestion about the 4x4 on the menu. All she did was read it back to me. I mean come on you should be pitching the food. We ordered the 4x4. The meat was good it just wasn't hot enough. It was strange. We ordered tater tots, but it never arrived. They gave us mashed potatoes and loaded mashed potatoes. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. It wasn't even busy enough to say that what the issues were. read more

The customer service is great. However was mediocre. The Brussels spouts a good and so are the potato tots. However don't order the hush puppies or the chicken strips. They both were over cooked/hard and tasteless. We see why the place was empty. The place is given more of an Irish pub more than a Bar B-Que spot. read more
Absolutely Loved It Here! Great staff and all are friendly kind people. We ended up going here for dinner one day and lunch the next day. Wasn't too crowded or loud inside at all. The food was the bomb. If you're looking for BBQ type food to munch on in AC this is your spot for now on. Brisket sandwich was meaty and juicy with the ends a little crispy from the flames I'm guessing. Chicken sandwich was tasty. The coleslaw on the side could've been a little more creamy but still good and the tots are always good. Wings were on point with lots of meat on the bone and crispy too. The Nashville hot were the better of the two taste wise for me. The honey ones could've been more sweet or sticky. Still great Apps were amazing. Get the spinach & artichoke dip because it's the best thing we had I think. Biscuits were a good choice as well for dipping into the wing & meat juices. Not the biggest fan of the bbq syrup stuff it came with but it was different flavor to the mix. The mac was everything you want in it. Cheesy, little smoky taste and crispy on the top. So damn good The donut tho.... I'm telling you if you don't get something on your way out of the restaurant and if it's not a donut you're not doing this place right. Go here. Eat all their food. Eating at Wild Honey for breakfast is always a wonderful experience for my family and I. The food quality is always fresh and delicious, great service and pleasant atmosphere. Bomb. First actual delicious food I've had in Atlantic city. My friend and I had been looking for a soul food out BBQ type spot, and came across this street searching on Google. It's located inside the Tropicana shopping area upstairs from Wet Willies. We were 5 mins out from them closing the kitchen for breakfast & they held it because we said we came for it! SO SO SO NICE! I'm away from home & I REALLY wanted grits for some reason. Lemme tell you sum... these grits? EXCELLENT! Gooey, cheesy, salted just right! omg! They're a MUST TRY, and this is coming from a grits snob! I rarely eat pork or beef and was pleasantly surprised that they had a turkey sausage option! Total score! Wooohoo! May the food Gods bless the chef for that! Totally delicious! The table BBQ sauce is also a must try. The traditional has a great flavor! Perfect sweetness balanced with savory smoke. Really good.... and there's a Honey mustard BBQ sauce. If you don't like honey mustard I'd skip it, but I personally LOVE honey mustard, so I really enjoyed it! My friend got the brisket & eggs and said the meat was fork tender & juicy with a great flavor. We both scraped our plates like two beach bums. Be sure not to miss their homemade hunny bun either! Ughhh! Divine! We enjoyed the mimosas during their happy hour. It was $6 each and we're pretty tasty. The food was really good and great portion sizes. The service was a bit slow but so kind and helpful with ordering. I would definitely rerun again, wouldn't mind trying their dinner menu. read more

Felt like a forgotten table. Went for breakfast on a Sunday, which we knew to expect as busy, but to be sat and not attended to was disappointing. Maybe we were sat it an unattended section? Unsure. Eventually 3 different servers came to assist, but they were also serving their sections, so things trickled to our table little by little. Drinks were unavailable, sugar, straws, syrup, salt. We had to ask the servers until one of them remembered to check on us. Then we were weirdly overcharged on our bill. It was quickly resolved, but the entire experience was weird. Tucked away upstairs in the Tropicana, just above Carmine's, Wild Honey Smokehouse and Tavern is a hidden BBQ haven that delivers a bold and satisfying experience from start to finish. Known for their house smoked barbecue and comforting American fare, this spot is a must visit for anyone craving hearty, flavorful food in Atlantic City. I ordered their standout BBQ Platter, which I customized with a St. Louis quarter rack of ribs and the show stopping Big West Texas Beef Rib smoked for an incredible 12 hours until it's literally falling off the bone. It was truly a masterpiece. The smoky, tender beef rib was my favorite juicy, rich, and infused with deep, wood fired flavor that lingers in the best way. For sides I opted for the double sauced mac and cheese and the loaded whipped potatoes, both of which were absolute comfort food perfection. The mac and cheese was ultra creamy with a kick of tangy BBQ sauce that took it up a notch, and the potatoes were buttery smooth, topped generously with cheese and scallions just the way they should be. Every bite of the BBQ platter was a perfect combination of smoky, juicy, and rich absolutely packed with flavor in every bite. What made the experience even better was the stellar service. My server KJ, was attentive, friendly, and knew the menu inside and out. Got a craving for Barbecue? This is the place. Slow cooked meats fun atmosphere and away from the bustle of the Casino at the Tropicana. Service was quick and friendly. I loved the rock and country photos and the rustic decor. Definitely recommended. read more
