The food at Texas Roadhouse in Egg Harbor was honestly the only reason this review received even one star. The meal itself was top-notch: flavorful, well-prepared, and exactly the kind of food you hope to get from a steakhouse. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was overshadowed by an extremely frustrating experience with the staff. The service felt disorganized, inattentive, and lacking in basic awareness. Communication was poor, simple requests seemed unnecessarily difficult, and the overall attitude made it feel as though customer service was an inconvenience rather than a priority. The staff came across as so unhelpful and out of touch that it was difficult to understand how the restaurant operates as efficiently as it does. It often felt like we were dealing with people who had very little interest in listening, solving problems, or making the dining experience pleasant. That is especially disappointing because the restaurant clearly has the potential to be much better. The food was excellent enough that I would have gladly returned if the service had matched it. Instead, the staff made the experience feel unnecessarily difficult and uncomfortable. Good food can only compensate for so much, and in this case it wasn't enough to overcome the poor hospitality. I gave this location a very low rating because friendliness, attentiveness, and basic professionalism matter just as much as what comes out of the kitchen. The rating could have been even lower if the food hadn't been so good. We had the BEST experience here Friday night and AMAZING food. Our server was Anthony and he was the best server. He had a great personality and was so pleasant. He had us laughing and having so much fun. I honestly had such a terrible week due to a death in the family and he really brought so much joy to all of us. Texas Roadhouse is always a go to favorite at mine at home and wanted to compare my experience here, First, the staff is wonderful and very friendly Second, I don't know if you have tried this before, but you can request a specific temperature for your steaks to be cooked. There has never been a problem telling them this option. You can also add for your steak to have or be seasoned with more salt. Texas roadhouse on this trip knocked it out of the ball park each time which kept me coming back nightly for a nice steak. Recently dined here to celebrate a birthday. We went on a Thursday night which was busy but were seated within 5 minutes. Server attentive and welcoming. Ordered apps and meals. Good size portions. For sides, I recommend mashed potatoes, buttered corn, or the fresh veggie. Rice is okay. I don't like the steak fries at all. I heard green beans can be overcooked. Adding mushroom is good. We decided to Uber here from our hotel instead of paying way too much for a mediocre steak dinner at one of the hotel steak places. We had an awesome meal here for way less than the places at the hotel. This place was crowded with locals on a weeknight, always a good sign for a restaurant. I've never really had a bad meal at any TXR and this place kept up that tradition. The rolls were fresh and hot as always. The fried pickles seem to be hand breaded and were fresh and hot without being too greasy. The side salad (no egg) was perfect as were the 6oz sirloin with mushrooms/onions and the loaded baked potato. I was hungry since I hadn't eaten much that day and still wasn't able to finish my meal. Service was awesome as you'd expect at TXR and I was able to pay my bill at the table so no waiting to pay. First time going and we checked in online (learned that crap from being jumped over in line at Olive Garden). The young ladies at the front are very nice and professional. Our server was knowledgeable and sweet. She checked in just after we got our drinks, appetizers and salads. Even the food runners are super friendly. It's loud, I mean Monster truck rally loud! People talking (who am I kidding they're yelling) Country music about pickup trucks and hog dogs playing in the foreground (ya I know what I said) but don't let that keep you from going because somehow it works. We started with fried pickles and they were good. My son got the NY strip he liked it and my wife said her ribs were good eaten. For my entree, I ordered an 8 oz sirloin steak cooked medium well and the two sides I chose were mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. The food was really good! This place never seems to disappoint. However, the one factor preventing me from giving it a 5/5 was the service. It certainly could have been better. Our server was Kayla, and although she was nice, there were some moments when she came off unpleasant and quick to leave the table. It always felt like she was in a rush and had to be somewhere else. This visit was a bunch of guys from the office. The food and overall experience was very good! We were greeted immediately and taken right to our table. Our waitress, Theresa was taking our drinks nearly immediately and checked in multiple time throughout the meal. The food came out hot and cooked properly. A few items were missing the proper toppings, which the guests who had wrong items didn't say anything and enjoyed it as it was served. The manager did check in, as they usually do, and the overall experience was worth the visit.
