After visiting the Jerome Historical Society, it was time for some shopping and sightseeing! At the top of my bookmarked list was Rickeldoris. I love general store old fashion candy and popcorn. When you first step in the smell of butter and caramel popcorn immediately hugs your senses in a warm embrace. There are rows of bagged candies, rows and rows of truffles in the glass case, and retro candy scattered throughout. It would be a bit overwhelming if I wasn't a popcorn / candy nut. I skipped over the gummies and candy you can find anywhere, skimmed over the retro offering and beelined to the popcorn. I settled for the large bags of caramel and kettle which were reasonably priced. Another customer behind me commented it was too high priced but you get high quality ingredients. Easily taking a tie for the second spot for best popcorn I've had in my life. Both the caramel & kettle are crisp, few to no kernels, and is the perfect level of sweetness. Our family snacked on the bags days after and it stayed crisp and delicious to the last bite. Regrets were made on not buying more; lol. While the customer service is fantastic, I found the candy that we purchased not very good. The truffles in the glass display - the outside shell was extremely thick (the thickest I've experienced) and not the best chocolate in my opinion. The inside truffle was smooth and better than the outside shell. My son tried some gummy turtles... and he didn't want to finish them. I tried one and didn't find it appealing either. read more

The owner was just so wonderful and friendly!! She told us about this little shop that her Mom used to own!! It had all the nostalgic candy that we grew up with and the chocolate macadamia nut caramel clusters were delicious!!!! My husband and loved the dark chocolate coconut truffles too! In Jerome on a tour and just browsing shops and sights when we ran across this little gem. Actually the intoxicating smell of fresh caramel popcorn wafted through the open door and drew us in. What a treasure trove of candies local and from around the world! We had fun browsing everything before picking up a bag of caramel popcorn. And somehow when I went to check out, a bag of chocolate covered pretzels magically appeared on the counter. Hmmm. Very friendly and helpful proprietor. Cute shop full of wonderful smells and sweets. Q: Why aren't there many jokes about popcorn? A: Because they are corny. You know how in cartoons, a squiggle of aroma is enough to make a character seemingly float towards a delicious treat? I lived this example by the smell of freshly popped kettle corn. Oh my! They were limiting the number of patrons inside when we went to Jerome during the pandemic and that was perfectly fine with me. It's a cozy little shop filled with sweet treats and good eats. I ended up walking away with a bag of caramel-cheese popcorn. It was amazing! Did a quick trip to Jerome on a warm Spring Break Friday. My son was dying of thirst, I know a tad dramatic and the smell of popping kettle corn lured us down the street to Rickledoris. It's a small shop with a cooler of various bottled drinks and a plethora of sweet treats. We opted for the caramel corn but they do sell buttered, traditional kettle and caramel corn. They also offer a variety of prepackaged candy and a case of single purchase chocolates and handmade treats. We made our drink purchases and a bag of caramel. Now I'm not usually a fan of caramel corn but this was fantastic. The large kernels of corn had a crunch from the light sugar coating. We literally couldn't stop eating it and my son's small baggie of Gummi bears were soft and deliciously fruity. Definitely a must stop when in Jerome for a quick treat. read more

This place is like taking a step back in time. They have some old candy favorites along with some new things I haven't tried. My son really loves their horehound candy. After I looked around I heard straight for the chocolate case. I tried the Irish Cream Truffles. OMG they are divine. We also snagged some of their popcorn (the lady behind the counter doesn't play fair, popping popcorn fresh) I got the Cheddar/Caramel the Cheddar flavor goes so well with the sweet of the caramel. My kind of everything! The smell of the candy when you walk in is amazing. Instantly I was brought back to my childhood with candies I hadn't seen since I was so young when I'd go on road trips with my parents. The smell of the sweets in the air was the reason for our stop here. Once you're near the area, you will understand what I mean. The first time we smelled it was when we first parked, but we refrained ourselves from entering. While walking back to the car after exploring the town, it got us & we had to go in to get something to try. It is very small in there, so can get crowded very easy. Has a lot of variety of even old fashioned candies & they make fresh popcorn. We got a big back of popcorn to share between the 4 of us & it was delicious! There was an older lady working the register & I remember there are people that still actually live in Jerome, so I asked her if she was a resident. She said she was not, but she grew up in Jerome. So she is glad she is able to still live through her childhood working in the town that she grew up in. I didn't bother to look around much because I try not to eat so many sweets, but I'm sure you can easily come out with plenty of goodies from here! read more

Stopped in to Rickeldoris Candy & Popcorn Co. the other day & was highly disappointed. We picked up 3 truffles & a bag of candied nuts. The associate had already packaged our $2.97 lovely looking truffles when I had then inquired about which nuts were contained in the hand packaged baggies. Because the baggies were hand packaged rather than factory prepackaged I naively assumed that they were made in house or at least small batch. The cashier wasn't sure so brought out a binder with ingredients. I again naively assumed that these were recipes or at least ingredient lists based off of their recipes. No. Not even close. These were the ingredients cut off the shipping boxes. They couldn't find the correct ingredient list & they had to ask the lady making the kettle corn in the back & she went to the stockroom & brought out a FULL CARTON of unopened candied nuts to read the ingredients. Are you F'ing kidding me?? At least be discreet about it if you're going to upcharge a 1/4 filled sandwich baggie of candied nuts & sell for ~$4! The nuts were decent all things considered, but knowing that most everything else was prepackaged & up-charged, the fact that the $4 truffles were waxy & mediocre at best, it's safe to say that these were not handmade either but rather mass produced in some factory, too. Definitely NOT worth $3 each. Save your money & go somewhere else. Even See's Candies mass produced candies are better than this AND much cheaper. read more

Every tourist town needs a candy store and luckily Jerome has Rickdelores! While walking through the streets of Jerome, I could smell the scent of popcorn looming through the streets. Was it the ghost of candy land haunting me in spooky Jerome? Nah. It was just Rickdelores temping me to stop by! This is a quaint little candy shop with a beautiful view of the Valley. While taking in the view, I filled my bag with toffees, gummies and chocolates galore. They charge per bag, not per type of candy which is nice. Besides the bins of candy, they have an entire section filled with delectable truffles! We tried several of the truffles and every one is better than the next, especially the caramel one! They also sell fresh popcorn that smelled delightful, but sadly I didn't get a chance to try any. However, if it tastes as good as it smells then it's probably pretty good! This is a great addition to the quirky town of Jerome and one that I was hoping existed when I came to visit! read more

We came here with the kids while wandering through this cute town. We were the only ones in this small, but quaint store. The prices were inflated, but that is expected and I truly did not mind. The man behind the counter was very friendly and attentive. There was a large selection, but some of the wrapped candy did seem old. the popcorn, however, was fresh and was a perfect "healthier" choice for us given the alternatives. Cute little candy store...and I mean pretty small. With the 14 of us all together, we could barely fit in there. It's like we flash mobbed the place! Got all kinds of flavored jelly beans and some popcorn. Lots of old fashioned candies and taffis in the bins. We played a game of "name the favorite jellies". We could not figure out one of them. We guessed green apples, grapes, bubble gum, pineapple, boogers, etc. It was a pear...geez! We will definitely be back for more. read more

I went in for taffy. $2.99/lb. for any combination of bulk candy so my little bag was under $2. They had all the regulars that candy stores have. Another cute little find in Jerome. We went in because the name on the sign made us giggle. It's a small little candy store, and at the time we were in there it was a little crowded. I didn't browse very much, but it looked like there was a wide variety of sweet treats to buy either individually or in bulk by the pound. There was a lot of what you'd expect to find; taffy, jelly beans, gummy things... and some "retro", lesser found items that were fun to see. The dangerous part was the chocolate behind the glass. We bought a milk chocolate truffle and a white tiramisu truffle, both of which were super rich, but awesome. I am so sad to report our bad experience at this cute little shop. We were in town with family and 5 kids and couldn't wait to treat them to the candy shop. I have a severe medical condition that prohibits me from wearing a mask to begin with, but out of deep respect for all businesses I always attempt to wear one to the best of my ability. In this case I wore it as close to my nose as possible and just refrained from talking (so as not to exasperate the problem). The owner (a gentleman) rudely yelled at me across the store to cover my nose. At first I didn't pay attention because I was actually looking at some things I was buying and my sister nudged me. He again reprimanded me about my mask. We all left immediately because of this behavior. I know what you're thinking, "it's a guideline and not his fault." However, the guideline does not trump a medical condition and it certainly does not give business owners the authority to be so rude and offensive. I have had numerous chats with business owners (as you could imagine) about this and never have I felt "attacked". This was quite shocking and more so, disappointing. read more
