worth the drive - best breakfast place on sea isle (IMHO). pancakes, waffles, sausage all good. Their small breakfast (one pancake, one egg, one meat, one potato- all smaller portions) is perfect for smaller breakfast. kids menu - with actual kid prices (which i haven seen in other places.). large booths inside- seating outside too. friendly and fast service and great food. it also has local art on all the walls. really a wonderful place. (located in Acme /CVS plaza.).

Classic breakfast spot and my favorite in the area! Service is quick and the food is delish. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and they make you feel right at home. Wouldn't change a thing about it!

Came here on a Saturday expecting to have a long wait. We were a party of 2 and told our wait would be about 15 minutes. We didn't mind sitting inside or outside, but given we were a little sunburnt, asked if we were seated outside if it could be in the shade, if not we'd like to be inside. There were 2 open tables of 2 available outside, to which one of the hostesses, who I'm assuming owned or at least managed the place, said she couldn't move the tables into the shade on the walk way. Very interesting given the tables were literally in the parking lot. Not even 5 minutes later they join the 2 tables and seat a party of 3 and proceed to extend their awning so that everything is under shade. After I had JUST said we would be fine with shade. The younger girl said we needed to be sat next since we were waiting the longest (much past 15 minutes). We then proceeded to see 6 other groups of people be sat before us. The young girl again said that we had been waiting and needed to be sat, to which the woman replied "I'm not seating a group of 2 at a table of 6, they will just have to wait". I knew we should have left right then and there. The young girl apologized to me since we were literally right next to the hostess stand and said she would get us seated as soon as possible. A group on their way out looked over at us and said it was worth the wait. I'd like to know what they ordered to make them think that. I could have gotten better food if I cooked it on the sidewalk myself. I ordered funfetti pancakes that were decent. Tasted like bisquick with some sprinkles if I'm being honest. The bacon was good but came out ice cold. The breakfast potatoes weren't even soft enough to get my fork through and needed a lot more time on the griddle. Don't even get me started on the most pathetic french toast I have ever seen in my life. It looked like a plain piece of toast, and tasted like cardboard. Our server was fine. The place was so humid inside it was hard to sit in there, but the atmosphere was nice and beachy. No clue how this place has ever earned a 5 star review. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

Best place around the area to eat breakfast! The interior is beautifully designed with a very shore-like ambiance. Everything is super clean inside and all of the workers are extremely kind and accommodating. Their ice coffee is delicious and perfectly made - we even got french vanilla creamers for it! All of our food came out quickly and perfectly. There are not many other breakfast spots near by so this is really a great option for whenever you are in the area. They have many different options and can make changes if needed to any of the platters. The pancakes are delicious and fluffy and my friend said that the french toast was the best she has ever had. Definitely have had multiple good experiences here whenever i visit sea isle and will plan on returning for sure!

Went here a little while ago and it was a rainy day during COVID so they only did takeout. I got a Pancake Big One and it was kinda bland and they gave me waffle fries instead of home fries, but since it was takeout I couldn't do anything about it. For the price it was a lot of food but it was 100% quantity over quality.

Wow. The big one is delicious. Outside eating in the shade at its best. First time visit but will definitely come back for more.

This was our first time at Ricks, usually we stay in Stone Harbor. This was a pleasant surprise. The decor and restaurant itself is very clean and inviting. The service was also very good. It wasn't very busy but there was only one server. My wife went with the egg white and scrapple. The eggs were just okay, a bit undercooked for her liking. The cheese wasn't melted either. The scrapple was crispy and delicious. I went with the big French toast breakfast. The French toast was very good! Probably the best part of my breakfast. The eggs and homefries were just okay. The sausage wasn't good at all, very cheap stuff and rubbery. I guess when you pay $9.00 I shouldn't have expected much. The coffee was tasty and hot. Overall though it was just okay. Not sure I would make a special trip to go back but it was a decent meal.

First, they get busy, so I highly recommend a reservation (they do have a bar but that seemed to fill up quickly). Inside, it's well laid out, plenty of space and tables. It looks great. The service was very good the entire time. We didn't wait on anything and our server always seemed to know when we did need something. They serve a good semolina bread with sesame seeds, the olive oil they bring out has seasoning in it. That's typically not my thing, let the olive oil speak (if it's good) but it worked. For apps, we ordered the fried green tomatoes with lump crab, the stuffed long hots, eggplant parmagiana, and the grande meatball. Meatballs are my favorite; these didn't disappoint. They are large, not tough, and well seasoned. The salad they came with made no sense, but it is what it is. The long hots were stuffed with sausage and had a kick, but that's the fun part about long hots. They were very good. The fried green tomatoes and eggplant were mediocre. Both dishes lacked flavor. For the entree, I ordered the veal chop, and while I'm not sure if there are many other served in SIC (they claim "the best in the city"), this was great. It's old school, but it was cooked perfectly and seasoned even better. I crushed it. There was a side of mixed vegetables and potatoes, which were not good. Undercooked, likely made ahead of time, held and scooped out when needed. A few strange things: they have multiple tomato sauces, and they served two different versions of the sauce on the same pasta at our table. One was chunkier and good, the other was runny and flavorless. Second, they upcharge for any changes...if you want a different pasta noodle with a dish, it was $8 more. While I would understand if they were serving high-end fresh pasta, they're not; it's simply a money grab. But even with those issues, it was good. I'll go back next time I'm there and stick to the veal chop...because that was really good.

We just wanted to try more and would've spent the same amount either way. Then, our food took another 30 minutes on top of that. Our steaks were cooked randomly--medium rare could either be a tire or still alive. When we finally got our food, the runner gave me the wrong steak for our table, and when I said, "That's hers," he replied, "Never assume, huh?" Afterward, we were served an unopened, unpoured Diet Pepsi while they boxed our leftovers for us. Pretty sure the table to my left agreed with us because they literally didn't pay and left. We ordered crème brulee, and it was basically scrambled eggs with sugar on top. 1/10. The cook probably knows what he's doing, but the check was $400 and the service was worth about $10. Our server was missing half the time, and the place wasn't full.

We went on a Monday for the dueling pianos. The Philly Keys. It was pouring rain and a light crowd but they did great engaging everyone. Loved them! The place started to fill up as it got later. The classic pizza was delicious. I highly recommend. The drink selection was good. The reason for the four stars is simply because of the service. If you read my reviews then you know that I rarely mention anything negative about service. I give credit to anyone who gets out of the house to work given the current labor climate. I'm not overly critical. It wasn't his fault. He needs some training or the ability to shadow another server. He just seemed to be a little overwhelmed. My comment isn't against him but the training program. We saw other servers that clearly know what to do. Someone should be looking out so the customer experience doesn't suffer. We would've ordered more drinks or food if our server checked on us. They delivered our pizza but we had to ask for and then wait for plates. I asked for water twice and never got that. Our glasses sat empty for long periods. When we did order, we watched him walk by our drinks sitting at the bar multiple times. He was a nice guy and was trying. Don't take this as a negative. We are very easy going and had a great time. We'll be back!
