This was one of the most uncomfortable, humiliating, and embarrassing dining experiences I've ever had. I came to Susie Q's for the first time on Christmas, expecting to enjoy breakfast and support a local business. Instead, I was treated with blatant disrespect by a staff member named Erin. From the moment we sat down, she rushed us aggressively to order, even though the restaurant was very busy and several other customers were still waiting on their food. There was absolutely no reason for the pressure being placed on us specifically. When I asked for a salad, I was abruptly told they were only serving breakfast. I then asked for a moment to decide. Her response was "I can't wait all day, we're about to close," while hovering over us in a hostile and intimidating manner. There was no professionalism, no courtesy--just attitude. Her behavior made us feel so uncomfortable that we asked if she would prefer for us to leave. She said yes and told us we could take the orange juice for free. At that point, the situation had already escalated to the point that everyone in the restaurant was staring at us, clearly confused about what had just happened. It was extremely embarrassing to be put on display like that for simply trying to order food. I don't like to jump to conclusions, but it's impossible to ignore that we were the only Black customers in the restaurant, and we were treated noticeably differently. Whether intentional or not, the experience felt discriminatory, dismissive, and completely unacceptable. No customer--especially first-time patrons--should ever be rushed, humiliated, or made to feel singled out in front of a full restaurant. This experience ensured that I will never return, and I strongly caution others. Management seriously needs to address how customers are treated and who they allow to represent their business. read more

When I thel you the chicken fried steak was crispy, juicy, and well seasoned, it is no lie. The hash browns were crispy and very tasty. The egg was perfectly over easy. Casual but cute decor, very friendly staff. Prices are very good. Packed when we first arrived around noon on Sunday, but we were seated right away. I had the Florentine omelette and hash browns, which was very good. My morning bike ride this morning led me to a nice little restaurant, Suzie Q's Cafe in Port St Lucie. They've been here for 21 years, and I can see why! It's a great little place for coffee and a good breakfast. One of the hardest things for me to find anywhere in S Fla is a good cup of coffee that suits MY taste. These guys nailed it! I got there fairly early and there was no wait, however at around 8 people started to back up. The wait wasn't bad, and is well worth it! Service was great, Staff were wonderful, the food was super and plentiful. I couldn't eat it all. Lesson learned. I felt the prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good breakfast restaurant, as for me...It's my regular stop for coffee on my morning ride. More than likely I'll see you there... read more

Let me start off by saying this place used to be so consistent, i was there a couple times a week. The last 4 times, food has arrived cold, cheese not melted, things added to my order that I specifically didn't order and have allergic reactions from. So , that being said. Maybe 4 tables were occupied, so it wasn't busy, the staff had no urgency of getting food right or even while bringing to the table, asked did we need anything else. Basically an eye roll. Now I was the first to order, nothing complicated. When it arrived I noticed the problem, and tried to say something, they walked away, with no eye contact. Awhile later the gentleman came back and asked if we needed a box, still not knowing something was wrong bc no one asked and would just drop food and bounce. My son said, you added this to this and she's allergic, so at the end of the meal after the box arrived he asked can we remake? Remake!!!! My mother doesn't get out much due to taking my nephews in so all she gets to do is go out to eat but because my nephew was being a child and throwing a tantrum because he was hungry and tired we basically got kicked out because people "complained" they didn't want to hear it the whole time (which they wouldn't have once he started eating) so she told us to take him out the high chair (he'd run around and get into everything) instead offering to get him something to eat.. mind you we always come here and we tip well.. like for awhile and he does this everytime and we even sit away from everyone by the door.. his brother is on the spectrum so kids with special needs aren't welcomed here?
