From the outside it looks like a typical generic storefront in downtown Anchorage. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you walked into a trendy restaurant in NYC. Upstairs they have a bar and the main dining room is in the downstairs area. The restaurant is spacious in the dining area with the 20'+ ceiling height over the main area. TIP - Get a reservation as this place is hoppin. The space is a steakhouse and ramen place. Looking around there were plenty of of steak eaters and ramen so we dove right in. Personally I am always a sucker for tsukemen (dipping ramen) so i went straight for that. The dish was good. * Good chew on the noodles. * Egg was perfectly jammy. * I would have preferred a grilled piece of pork instead of fried pork belly. * I thought the broth could have a little more kick to it and hotter. Maybe serve it in an insulated vessel or hot stone bowl (like bi bim bop). * Never had lime before in my tsukemen so i passed on it. The portions are pretty good and overall it was a tasty dish. I would definitely come back and try more of the options. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on this place, but just be sure to book a reservation.

Love the atmosphere at this spot. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The appetizers here are unique and delicious. The service was on point from the moment we walked in. Very friendly and just the right amount of attentive. I want the Clint Eastwood poster on the downstairs entry-side wall. The whiskey bar looks pretty fancy, though I have yet to be seated in that area. If you haven't been here yet, find an occasion and give it a whirl!

This is our third time coming to whiskey and ramen. Unfortunately they only have one ramen that I would like, which is the Hook. The dark horse has nice flavor and if I was feeling a bit spicy, I would get that one even though I have a light tolerance for spice. Looking back at my pictures the two ramens are the same but they look different lol. My drink I got the Smoke Becomes Her. I didn't know but everyone around us also had this drink. It was very Smokey and mezcal tasting. Also pretty. All their drinks are pretty. The menu said it was refreshing g but I wouldn't call that refreshing, more spirit forward which was another option. For our app they have a new one that is Japanese sweet potato. It was two big baked sweet potato's with a special kind of butter. It was really really delicious. I would 100% get it again. New to the menu. We also got dessert because I have always been intrigued by Baked Alaska and never had it. Overall it was interesting but none of the flavors were going in my favor. We also didn't let the whiskey burn off enough but our waiter gave no instructions lol. An experience but we weren't able to finish it. One and done! I wish they had more variety of ramen. P.s the bathrooms are the best part of Dining here don't forget to check them out!

First time in Anchorage and Whisky & Ramen was on our list to try. The interior was sleek and beautiful. Service was attentive and welcoming When it came to the food we were impressed with their presentation, quality of ingredients and creativity. Their take on the scotch egg was awesome and something I'd definitely order again. Given we were in Alaska we ordered a few other seafood items which were also delicious The desserts were beautiful and delicious Highly recommend Whisky & Ramen if you're in Anchorage for an innovative and yummy meal

Fantastic service, our server helped describe the various ramen dishes as well as steaks and drinks! So helpful, even if we've been here before - we wanted to try new things! The scotch tomato egg is always incredible, and the Tokyo Rich tsukamen udon dish was fun and delish. Ribeye was incredibly prepared at medium rare with a fun baked yam and ate every bite of the steak. Tried the Flowers of Edo which was a smoky old fashioned, and the Aomori grove was a tasty whipped treat with the egg white. Loved that the Elijah Craig small batch is only $8/drink as a more reasonable alternative to the fancy drinks and there were plenty of other affordable bourbon options as well. $11 for Basil Hayden, for example. Fabulous ambience, we ate in the dark moody bar area, but there's also the brighter larger dining room area as well - dug beneath street level of downtown Anchorage! They seriously need to get the ladies room toilet replaced, one stool is not enough for a busy night!

Amazing experience at whisky and ramen. We had reservations (which i recommend to do) and got seated promptly. The ambiance gives traditional Japanese and very classy. For appetizer, we got the pork buns which were full of flavor and perfect for 2. Next, the ramen. Mine was amazing and my friend said the same. The broth's flavor profile was so elevated beyond a traditional ramen broth. 5/5 recommend. Last but not least, the baked alaska. The whole experience of them lighting it on fire in front of you is fun. It was a good dessert, the ice cream was a tad bit freezer burnt but that's being very nit picky. It was a little over $100 for 2 people to dine, which I think is fair for what we got and the experience. Def recommend if in Anchorage!

There was a wait to get in for dinner of about 30 minutes (less than the projected 1 hour+), but it was well worth the wait. I would recommend reservations if you feasible, but they do have a waiting area. We were seated at the bar with a direct view of the cooks. It was like watching The Bear (without the intensity) while enjoying our dinner We ordered a drink and Shishito peppers to start. The peppers were quite hot and not as flavorful as some of the others I've had in the past. We ordered the buns (vegan option) to reduce the edge of the pepper dish and they were excellent. The drink, Flowers of the Edo, was tasty with a smoky flavor. I saw a few people ordered an old fashioned (with a matcha twist) and everyone who got it seemed happy with it. We will try it next time we are here. The star of the evening was the vegan Ramen bowl. It was tasty, filling and had a range of flavors from hot to creamy. I wish there were more vegetarian ramen options as I would like to try something different on my next visit. The baked Alaska comes with a whisky on fire that the server poured on the dish at our table, a nice spectacle. It is a large dessert and can easily be shared between two (or 4) people. This was between a 4 and 5 for me, giving 5 because I had a nice enjoyable meal.

Two of my favorites in one restaurant? I knew i'd have to stop in and dine here while on vacation in Anchorange. Whisky & Ramen's menu consists of izakaya dishes, Ramen and craft cocktails. FYI- I highly recommend making a reservation via open table. Don't worry of you don't make a reservation, the restaurant will take walk-ins and seat you at the whisky bar or ramen counter. What we ordered and enjoyed Blistered shishito peppers Whisky pork buns Alaskan weathervane scallops The hook Drinks Komorebi old fashioned Old fashioned Wow, every dish was absolutely incredible! My only tiny gripe was that the noodles in the hook weren't ramen, but honestly, the amazing broth totally made up for it! And let's not forget the old fashioneds--simply fantastic! I was especially captivated by the delightful matcha notes in the komorebi old fashioned. What a treat! Awesome food and ambiance- I'm a fan!!

Surprise me! Exceptional ramen in Anchorage at a restaurant that is beautiful, delicious and has craft cocktails that will surprise you! Try the desserts - legit baked Alaska! The service was exceptional. Somehow the reservation system allowed a late (11:30 pm) booking and the staff not only called but were visibly relieved when we arrived early. Not their mistake and you could feel their genuine desire to make sure we had a great experience. We certainly did! Bravo!

It was unexpectedly modern ambience, affordable place with good menu. I had not eaten ramen in a restaurant style. This was for surprise quite good fine dining experience. Server was well informed and explained oir qierries very well. There were few options for vegetarian, I ordered Sake, Umeboshi salad which had very good taste of pickled raddish, cashews, green chicpeas, Outsider ramen was only vegetarian option made in mushroom broth and tasted good, I enjoyed eating it with chopsticks too, dessert was presented like top chef style made of sweet potato based gelato Overall left a lomg lasting impression on my mind, body and soul.

This was Yako Imo gelato dessert. Not too sweet, perfect size for 2. Amazing mix of flavors made with sweet potato gelato.

Such a great gem in the middle of the city. The food was amazing. They have very creative cocktails. We sat at the bar to eat because it was super busy even on a Tuesday. Highly recommend to make reservations. It is very expensive so would recommend to go for special occasion/date night. We didn't end up eating ramen but the staff was very knowledgeable in describing their menu. Ended up having a special seafood small plate and halibut cheeks. Will definitely be back to try the ramen.

I was recommended by another restaurant, who was booked out, to check out Whiskey & Ramen for dinner. It did not disappoint. I am currently on a no-pork diet, so the only option I had was their vegan ramen. I never tried vegan ramen before, so I was hesitant to try it. I ordered it anyway, and I am pleasantly surprised how flavorful the dish. I ended up trying vegan ramen at other restaurants after my experience at Whisky & Ramen, and I still think Whisky & Ramen does it the best. The service was extremely attentive and and waiter is very accommodating. We got a Baked Alaska dessert for the table, but I can't have a lick of alcohol for personal reasons. The waiter was able to split the dessert so some of us had the full presentation with the flame while I was able to eat a slice without the alcohol. Highly recommended restaurant to check out in Downtown Anchorage!

This is a very trendy, cool whisky and ramen restaurant. We sat at the bar since it is very popular and reservations are highly recommended. Our bartender/waitress was amazing. She was very cool, knowledgeable, and enjoyable to have conversations. The food is amazing. Ordered the scallops and tsukemen. Scallops were made well and very tasty. The fried risotto was a great addition to the scallops. The tsukemen soup was full of flavor. The noodles are made in-house and has a great chew. The pork is crunchy and juicy. I happened to ask if the restaurant offered a soup-wari with the tsukemen. I guess normally it is not offered as many people don't ask for it. It is typically offered with tsukemen in Japan. However, our bartender asked the chief since he was working. And did make for me since it was a bit slow at the time and he was happy to provide as people that know tsukemen know of the soup-wari. Probably not going to always be provided but got lucky on the timing. Amazing place in Anchorage for locals and tourists in my opinion.

In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. The presentation alone deserved its own spotlight, with vibrant colors, thoughtful plating, and that "don't touch it yet, just admire it" kind of appeal. The salmon panang curry was hands down my favorite. The salmon was perfectly cooked tender, flaky, and rich sitting in a velvety panang curry sauce that balanced creamy coconut with just the right amount of heat. The flavors were bold but beautifully harmonious, with a depth that made every bite better than the last. It's the kind of dish you immediately start planning to order again before you've even finished it. The tonkotsu miso soup was equally impressive. The broth was luxuriously rich and full-bodied, with that slow-simmered depth you hope for in a great tonkotsu. The miso added a savory complexity that made the whole bowl incredibly comforting. Every spoonful felt warming and satisfying perfect for an Anchorage evening. Beyond the food itself, the overall experience was wonderful. When a restaurant manages to combine stunning presentation with flavors that truly deliver, it stands out and RickShaw absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back... and next time, I won't forget the photos.
