Mixed reviews because the pandebono was really good and reasonably priced at $2 each. I also got huevos pericos but they didn't taste as nice or very seasoned. The rest of the items tasted like they had been sitting for awhile, like the chicharron and empanada de pollo were stale and cold. On the other hand they had lulo juice smoothies which is hard to find and that one tasted really good. I had it mixed with water. It's a hit or miss depending on what you order and I supposed if you have early in the day you'll get things freshly made. I stopped in around 11am so maybe too late. I will still give this place another try since it's near my house. Service is order at the counter for here or to go and then they have indoor seating and a two tables outside, but facing the parking lot so nothing scenic. read more

To start, I never ever write reviews. I drive by this place all of the time and was craving a good gauva and cheese pastry, so I decided to check it out. When I walked in, I was immediately happy to see a large display case filled with their "fresh" bakery items. I ordered two GC pastries to go. I would have ordered more items, but the young woman's frustration with my gringo unfamiliarity was palpable. When I got back in my car, I took one of the pastries out of the bag to try. The shell looked beautiful. I took a bite, and the stale, flaky pastry shell crumbled completely, making a huge mess. That I don't mind as much; it's the taste I had a problem with. The guava tasted like a generic, poor-quality preserve and had a very funky aftertaste. I could almost smell the aftertaste, and my first thought was toilet water. I love pastries, but I put the pastry back in the bag. Even though I feel bad about wasting food, it's definitely going in the trash. Two things: First, I understand it may be frustrating when customers dont know what the different menu items are and employees have to answer the same questions, but this is not Colombia. If you dont want to be bothered by people who don't know what the different menu items are, maybe put an English translation of the Spanish name and description in parentheses. Lastly, if you have the skill to craft a lovely pastry shell, take the time to fill it with quality ingredients, and dont serve old, stale ones. I am disappointed to say the least, and will not be back. I would rather buy a pre-packaged pastry from 7-11 than eat the one at Rico Pan. read more

I try to stop by when I am in the area, to get pan de bono. It is good and a staple in Colombian culture. I have tried their quesitos, tres leches cake, buñuelos, huevos pericos and coffee. It has been a while since we had breakfast and it was okay. Desserts are a bit on the sweet side, which is okay if you want to get that sugar fix. Customer service has never been the greatest, since it depends as to who takes care of you. If you want good pan de bono, this is the place to get them. read more

So I came to this cafe cause I've been here before and it's okay. But today I stopped by for a small quick bite, a cup of tea and space to catch up on some online work. I get my food get everything ready just for the employee to tell me she can't give me the wifi password. It's definitely frustrating considering the only reason I came here in the first place was to be able to get some work done. They also have 2 different networks to connect to yet no password no I can't use it. Cafes are supposed to have wifi available to customers and the whole purpose of a cafe is for that reason. definitely won't be back after this. read more

I wasn't even aware that this place was on my way back home from work, until I looked up where I could get tamales. This place is delicious! I love the pan de Bono and everything looks so good. I can't wait to try some other baked good from this place. As for the tamales, these are Colombian tamales, which are different from the Mexican or Peruvian kind. I personally liked - I love that they add potatoes in their tamales, but my hubby was not a fan. He thought it was too soupy/soft compared to Peruvian tamales. This is the sister location to the one in Kissimmee. Opened last year, RicoPan Bakery cranks out some muy bueno baked treats. Made in-house with love every day, and you can tell! I'm going to be fair and say from the start that my review is solely based on wait time. The food here is as good as you're going to get for a Colombian bakery stateside. However, they really need to up the staff and up the production. Every time I come i ALWAYS have to wait...and not just a few minutes. In last visit i waited 30 minutes for all my order to come together. They never have enough of anything and they are losing money like crazy. Clients literally walk in and get turned away because they don't have empanadas and have to make them, they don't have pan de Bonos, etc...they would Definitely benefit from having a couple servers and more people taking orders at the counter. MmmmmmmmmmmOMG!! I love this bakery! So many delicious sweet and savory treats. Several are also gluten free! The coffee is delicious as well :) Very clean. Plenty of seating. Plenty of parking. The only drawback is that it's on a busy road with a median and the u-turn to get in is a fast and kinda scary one, followed by a quick right turn. read more

My friend introduced me to this place to get some quesitos (small pastries filled with sweet cheese). Service was friendly and patient as I asked questions of every item. Venezuelan treats freshly made and delicious. We had the corn empanada filled with beef with dipping sauce. And my friend was right the quesitos were AMAZING. The space was warm, clean and welcoming. Nice local place hidden away in a plaza off 436 (look for Aaron's Furniture and enter that plaza). If you're looking for coffee and yummy Colombian delicacies, you have come to the right place. I'm hooked on the pan de bono - it's hard not to eat them on the drive home! There are cases and cases of items of which I'm not familiar with. I have tried their quesitos and guava and cheese pastry. My husband has had their empanadas. Everything is good and quite authentic. Also cannot believe how cheap- empanadas run about 1.70, 1.50 per pandebono, 1.75 for guava and cheese and 1.50 for quesito. $10 can get you quite a bit here. The place is fairly spacious so if you have the time, you could actually spend some time here- great place to meet up with a friend. read more

I was happy when they opened this little bakery years ago, and I love to come to this place for breakfast on the weekends, the food is good the bakery has a lot of options and staff is very friendly. That being said, this is my last time at this restaurant. I ask for lemon and they gave me rotten lemon, I saw the cashier get the lemon from the freezer and she look at one tray and decided to give me the other one. To be fair I don't think she gave me the bad one in purpose I think she pick the best option she had. Now, if they give you a rotten lemon, I wonder what ingredients they use on the kitchen that there is no way for clients to notice. Sorry but not eating here again! PAN DE BONO! My parents are obsessed with this place and I was finally able to witness why, this is a cute authentic Colombian bakery that have plenty of baked good options, lunch entrees, and desserts. We usually like to get pan de bono because it is made fresh- its basically good tasting bread with cheese inside/ not quite a cheese danish but maybe something similar to those that may be curious. I took some to work and a co-worker of Colombian decent informed that their bread taste as what you would get if you were to visit Colombia. Other things I've tried at this cute cafe are their empanadas and arepas which I also highly recommend because they taste so yummy. Glad to have this new cafe nearby, our family loves to stop by after church on Sundays. read more

In my honest opion. If you come here, i advise you to try their two star dishes: #1 Pan de Bono -sweet, salty, cheesy, irregularly shaped ball of warm doughy goodness. What more can you want . I've have taken family visiting from colombia to try these and even they have said Rico pan's "Pan de Bono" are better than their local bakeries in Colombia. Now, any time I fly to Colombia I'm being hounded to buy a couple to bring to them. Tip-To be eaten hot onsite. Or I usually reheat them in the microwave for 10secs. #2 Empanadas (beef or chicken) - Colombian's do it right be using corn, not flour, based dough. The crunchy exterior paired with the yummy potato filling is to die for. If you can take the heat, I recommend pairing it with their hot sauce. Lately, I have been taking them to-go and pairing them with Trader Joes "green sauce" The rest of their menu is alright. Stick to what they do best and order the pan de bono or the empanada. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE, been buying from here for weeks now. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because of customer service. I'm puertorican and after bragging about Colombian sweets, part of my family decided to come check it out. We are about 9 people and we are picking and choosing different treats to try out but the lady didn't know how to answer half of our questions. We would ask what some things were made of and she would repeat "I don't know I didn't make it" and "I'd have to call the panadero" in a sarcastic tone. Very rude and helpless read more

Super rude staff. Went in there to purchase two cups of coffee, was greeted with eye rolls, visible irritation and just plain rudeness from the counter girl. I've never encountered such bad customer service. You're there to serve the customer, if you don't want to be there go home. Will never be going back there again. read more
