    Pan de bono in bag

I try to stop by when I am in the area, to get pan de bono. It is good and a staple in Colombian culture. I have tried their quesitos, tres leches cake, buñuelos, huevos pericos and coffee. It has been a while since we had breakfast and it was okay. Desserts are a bit on the sweet side, which is okay if you want to get that sugar fix. Customer service has never been the greatest, since it depends as to who takes care of you. If you want good pan de bono, this is the place to get them.

This is the sister location to the one in Kissimmee. Opened last year, RicoPan Bakery cranks out some muy bueno baked treats. Made in-house with love every day, and you can tell! Pan de queso is always a nice GF staple, and the ladies assured me that no flour is used to make them. The cassava is a nice touch. If you're in the area - stop and check it out! (I'll have to grab a photo of the menu board next time!)

I'm going to be fair and say from the start that my review is solely based on wait time. The food here is as good as you're going to get for a Colombian bakery stateside. However, they really need to up the staff and up the production. Every time I come i ALWAYS have to wait...and not just a few minutes. In last visit i waited 30 minutes for all my order to come together. They never have enough of anything and they are losing money like crazy. Clients literally walk in and get turned away because they don't have empanadas and have to make them, they don't have pan de Bonos, etc...they would Definitely benefit from having a couple servers and more people taking orders at the counter. Here is the picture of the line at my latest visit.

My friend introduced me to this place to get some quesitos (small pastries filled with sweet cheese). Service was friendly and patient as I asked questions of every item. Venezuelan treats freshly made and delicious. We had the corn empanada filled with beef with dipping sauce. And my friend was right the quesitos were AMAZING. The space was warm, clean and welcoming. A definite must try. @kennaC thank you for the wonderful recommendation.

Service is great and the empanadas with their hot sauce are always a hit. Don't forget to grab a few pan de bono and pastries!

I've ordered over 36 cupcakes, and a seven up poundcake that didn't last long at Thanksgiving. The cheesecake teasers were my absolute favorite. her service is absolutely amazing. At this point the only thing I have not tired is the whole cakes themselves. But everything is always very moist, delicious and beautifully packaged. She's very patient and I appreciate that they check in with you about your order. They are very accommodating about delivery and pick ups located in a central area, which is very convenient. Looking forward to my next order from these owners.

Nikki works out of a local church and her cakes look and taste Devine. I went through her online reviews and decided to sample the carrot cake and red velvet cake. I gave them to my daughter and neighbor for Easter. The flavor profiles were spot on: Moist, balanced, and perfectly baked. The carrot cake cream cheese icing was perfection in every bite. The process: Nikki called soon after I placed my order online and I received a date within 3 business days to pick up, she also delivers locally for $5. I met her in the Church parking lot, she was easy to spot with a big smile and a shirt that read Nikki. She let me peek at some of the cakes she was delivering and let me tell you, they looked gorgeous. I just ordered again, this time the peach bundt cobbler. FACT: her online cake pictures look as good as her finished products.

It's such a cute spot, with an impressive selection of baked goods at very reasonable prices. This time, I ordered the chocolate strawberry latte, and we shared a red velvet scone along with one of their unique "Nobody Asked For This" chocolate chip cookies made with roasted garlic. The latte was delicious and piping hot--perfect for a chilly day. My first bite of the garlic chocolate chip cookie had me thinking, "No," but it quickly grew on me, and I ended up really enjoying the unexpected combination of flavors. The red velvet scone was huge (perfect for sharing) and absolutely amazing, loaded with chocolate chips. Between the drinks and treats I've tried over multiple visits, Allyson A's Bake Shop has yet to disappoint. It's a must-stop whenever I'm in Mount Dora.

Have you ever wondered what German pastry heaven would look like?…read moreWell, look no further, Yalaha Bakery is what you've been dreaming of! My husband and I have been searching for a German bakery since we both have a sweet tooth for baked goodies. He's been telling me about how legendary German goulash tastes since before we got married (it's been a few years now ) and the Yalaha Bakery menu mentioned seasonal soup including goulash so of course we had to stop here. We visited on a rainy Wednesday afternoon around 4:45 pm. This place has modest architecture and a small parking lot, but don't let that fool you since as soon as you open the door, there are 4 glorious levels of tasty treats under a refrigerated glass display and fresh bread in shelves behind the counter. There were about 4 customers in the shop and a few others that came in while we were ordering. Everything looked so delectable, so it was hard to choose from the huge variety! Our bakery order ended up being quite large, so I'm glad my husband brought the cooler with him. We got 1 rhubarb pie (for a gift), 1 rhubarb streusel (another gift), 1 apple streusel, 1 German apple pie, 1 tiramisu, 2 lavender shortbread cookies, 1 eclair, 1 cream horn, 1 Brazilian caramel bar, 4 pretzel rolls, and 4 large pretzels. There might be a few other things as well. The order was about $125 with tip. Excellent customer service by the counter girl, and she was very patient while we were deciding on things. After we packed our pastries in the cooler, we went back to check out the deli section. They had a lot of German deli items to choose from, but what I was really interested in was the goulash. The very kind counter lady (possibly the owner?) took my order, and I couldn't have asked for a heartier, soul-warming soup for about $6. The meat was cooked to soft perfection. The veggies (peppers, tomato, and potato if I recall correctly) melted away while you sipped the soup that tasted like it was made by your favorite extra-skilled German grandma. I was in stew heaven. Of course, I shared a few spoonfuls with my husband, and it was gone in a few minutes. All in all, we discovered that Yalaha Bakery is a hidden gem in Yalaha, FL. If you love bakeries and handmade treats like we do, this is a great place to visit. Prepare your bank account to splurge on pastries, artisan German bread, and remember to stop by the deli! We'll be back again next time we're in the area on one of our road trips.

Bright, clean, and dialed in with pastries that actually look as good as they photograph. You walk in thinking you'll make a quick, responsible choice. Two minutes later you're staring at the case like you're drafting a fantasy team. We went with the cream puff and that was the right move. Light, airy, not overly sweet, and gone in about three bites flat. No notes. Tried the crème brûlée pastry too. Points for creativity all day. It's a cool concept and well executed, just didn't hit the same level as the cream puff. Still good, just not the headliner. And the iced tea deserves a mention. Strong. Like, actually strong. Not the watered-down afterthought you get at most spots. This one shows up with purpose. Overall, easy four stars. Fun stop, great vibe, and a menu that keeps things interesting without trying too hard. Just don't kid yourself into thinking you're only ordering one thing. That plan falls apart immediately.
