I tried Mecatos Bakery & Cafe and for me it was was their scrumptious arepa. It's generously filled and the cheese and shredded chicken (added avocado for 1.99) with some of their hot sauce did me right in. The arepa was amazing cooked fresh and has that nice crunch bite. We got two empanadas they were okay no complaints. Also got a cafe con leche could have been hotter but fine nonetheless. My son is in love with thres leche and he was in desert heaven. I enjoyed their ambiance too. Any place that has good arepas, empanadas, and cafe con leche with decent prices can take my money...

This hidden Colombian coffee house, pastry shop and lunch restaurant is quite a gem off the beaten path. If you weren't looking for it, you would never find it. Tucked away, off the back roads of Apopka, this quaint little place sits. Worth a visit for the pastry counter and arepas. I had the beef arepa, and it was delicious. Husband had eggs and son had empanadas. We came for breakfast, but the lunch. Options are served all day so we opted for that. I ordered iced caramel coffee but that was the only thing Miss of the morning. Service was good and friendly, and I found a bottle of cherry moscato from a local vineyard on sale I can't wait to try. The shop offers a variety of Colombian (strong) coffee options, not for the Starbucks sweeties. Without the coffee miss and smaller portion sizes, I would have given it five stars. Go, and try it!

I passed by this spot so many times and I never knew what it was; I saw it in a couple of build boards it caught my eye it looked like a Colombian Starbucks. We finally had the chance to check it out this morning and it was AMAZING, we loved the food everything had a great flavor, we loved everything we had a shredded beef arepa and a chorizo cachapa. Our meal was a pretty decent price and it included coffee (they have almond milk) They were very generous of the cilantro garlic sauce (in other restaurant's they're very stingy, so that was a huge plus for me) The presentation of the food was very good. They have a huge variety of desserts and sweet bread. Everyone was super nice, loved the vibe and it was very aesthetic lots of seating. Very well recommended by me and my husband

Such a beautiful place, with spacious seating. Everything looks amazing, as soon as you walk in, it smells great of coffee and baked goods. The service was okay, employees refused to speak English which is fine, thankfully I speak Spanish but I'm thinking about other clients who their only language is English. We ordered a cachapa, empanada, and burger. Everything came out at different times and the burger took almost 30 minutes. We were kind of in a rush, so a heads up about the burger would've been nice. They also ask for 20-25% tip which I think is too much considering we pick up after ourselves and get up to get our own napkins, utensils, sugars, etc. I work in the service industry and I only ask myself if they're getting paid below minimum wage. Obviously I still leave a tip because I appreciate what they do, it would just be greedy if the owners are paying their workers below minimum wage. Enough yapping, we ordered the cachapa with cheese, which came out cold and crumbly, it looked beautiful but the flavor was not there, I've tried many cachapas and by far this one was the least pleasant to eat. The burger didn't taste authentic at allll. It felt like more bread than anything. The empanada did not taste authentic at all, it was like the filling barely had any potatoes, it just felt like the flavors were not there at all. I will continue to order these items at my local Colombian restaurant, where they never fail. The best part of my visit was their latte, it was soooo good and made my day so much better. My son also got a reindeer cookie which he loved, it was beautiful. I cannot say I'll be back anytime soon, I'll definitely be open to trying them out again and seeing if maybe the experience will be better and not only about aesthetics or how pretty everything looks, but on flavor and authenticity.

Great space with great service and food. I had to call due to the address on both Yelp & Apple Maps doesn't take you to the actual location, the person who answered was aware and graciously directed me to the location. I suggested an edit here on Yelp as I pinned where I was on the map here on Yelp so others don't get lost. Back to the space & food The menu has options on options and I ended up with a cheese empanada & avocado toast. My boys had turkey, egg white & cheese croissant sandwiches. Additionally they ordered smoothies a strawberry and a mango smoothie. Everything was good according to the boys, I thoroughly enjoyed my empanada however I wasn't impressed with my avocado toast it lacked that ummph for me as I make it at home and season well. The service was amazing so I'd definitely return & share with others.

    They have a drive thru!

Finally the Mecatos in Apopka is open! I did the drive thru because I had my dog with me and I got 4 empanadas: 2 beef ones and 2 chicken ones. Y'all. This place does not play around when it comes to the fillings! It's filled more than other Colombian places I've tried. You definitely get more bang for your buck! Even though there is a Colombian bakery 5 minutes from my house and this one is 16 mins away, I think I'll drive further to this one since it's so much better! I also got jugo de maracuya (passion fruit) with water and it was amazing! I will definitely come back. 5 stars also for the bilingual staff! Even though I'm fluent in Spanish my husband isn't, and even though he loves Colombian food he gets intimidated ordering at other bakeries.

We stumbled upon this cute Colombian bakery and cafe. The location we visited is on Hansel Ave in Englewood. We arrived Sunday about 45 mins before closing time. The place was pretty full of diners enjoying delicious Colombian goodies. We ordered the pan de bono which is fluffy and warm cheese bread. The cheese empanadas were my favorite- sweet corn empanada with the salty white cheese heavenly Cafe con leche was creamy and strong. My 4 stars is due to not having the buñuelos which was my original reason for visit. We will definitely visit a Mecatos in the future.

Love this place. The pan de bono and empanadas are fantastic and the arepas are great. Great service and it's a great new addition to the neighborhood.

I tried Mecatos for the first time and had an amazing experience! I ordered the Pandebono, Cafe con leche and a Colombian hot dog and enjoyed everything I got. The interior is also beautiful with a lot of seating options inside. The pandebono was delicious and paired well with the cafe con leche. The cafe con leche doesn't come with sugar so make sure to ask for it if you want it added. They also have sugar and utensils available to the side if you want to add it yourself! It was my first time trying a Colombian hot dog and I was pleasantly surprised with how well the flavor combinations worked together. The sweetness from the pineapple balances out the salty toppings. Overall amazing food options with great/quick service!

I ordered the power lunch and had a pastry and bottled water. The servers were very kind. I noticed they have a drive up window while I was scanning for parking. So much parking - so don't be concerned about that. Indoor and outdoor seating. Clean one- toilet restrooms for men and women. The restaurant was also clean. A nice variety of ethnic patrons, which is quite is quite important to me. I recommend you try this place and enjoy some Latin food and bakery items! (I didn't buy a salad because they include peaches, but I will give that a try next time.).

I do love how close and convenient this location is to my house! The only thing that was frustrating was no forks I only saw spoons and napkins so had to ask the girls at the counter and the table was dirty but other than that everything else was fine! We got the arepas, empanadas, tres leches and lattes and everything was delicious! The parking lot had a lot of parking spaces which was good and I like how inside is spacious with lots of seating areas with outlets to charge your devices if you wanted to!

By the way live the decor !

Family friendly, very clean and great service ! I love to have my hot breakfast just looking out the window in one of the cutest booths ! Keep it up por favor

First, the staff deserves credit--their energy and kindness were 10/10. The person I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The food itself was good, but I was disappointed that my order was made incorrectly. I specifically asked for only tomatoes and pickles on my burger, but it came with cheese and a sauce. Luckily, I was planning to eat just the patty, so I was able to rinse it off, but if I had intended to eat it as a regular burger, it would have completely ruined the meal as the bun was covered in the sauce. My sub was excellent, and I appreciated the staff's sauce recommendations. However, I was surprised that the homemade sauce came with a $1.10 charge for each side of sauce--that feels pretty excessive. To make matters worse, I didn't even receive one of the sauces I paid for. I understand they are homemade but it is a 1.5 oz container... My biggest disappointment, though, was the chips. It may sound minor, but when a meal is priced and advertised as a complete meal, you'd expect a reasonable portion. The "side" of chips was literally about seven whole chips' worth, mostly crushed into pieces. It was especially disappointing when compared to the portion of fries. Overall, the food has a lot of potential, and the staff was fantastic, but the incorrect order, extra sauce charges, missing sauce, and tiny chip portion really took away from the experience. My advice: upgrade the chips so you actually get a side, double-check your order before you leave (even if there's no one else in there) , and be aware that the sauces cost extra.

If I was eating this sandwich by myself, I would've asked for bacon on the sandwich, which definitely would have made it a top shelf turkey sandwich in my opinion. Being an Italian deli, the majority of the sandwiches do use pork of one kind or another where they looked and sounded quite tasty with a number of house specialties on the menu. The Vibe: From the outside, the shop is pretty unassuming, tucked into a strip mall--but that's often where the best deli spots are hiding. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a busy lunch rush and a fast-paced New York deli vibe, with staff cranking out sandwiches left and right. Always a good sign. What We Ordered: * Hot Rachel * Classic Italian * 1/2 lb pesto macaroni salad * 1/2 lb redskin potato salad We took everything home for lunch and... Every single thing was delicious. Sandwich Highlights: The Hot Rachel was exactly what you want from a deli sandwich--tender pastrami, melty Swiss, tangy slaw, and toasted rye all working together perfectly. Stacked high and full of flavor. My husband's Classic Italian was also fantastic, loaded with meats and that classic deli balance of flavors. Both deli salads were great, but the pesto macaroni salad was the standout--creamy, herby, and packed with flavor. We're honestly so excited to have discovered a great New York-style deli less than 10 minutes from our house. Safe to say we'll definitely be back soon to work our way through the rest of the menu. Pro tip: Don't skip the deli salads--grab one or two to share with your sandwich.

I came in not expecting much more than a quick bite, but the experience at Daniel's Cheesesteaks…read moreended up being surprisingly memorable. Before I even got my food, I had a great interaction with Mercedes at the counter. She was genuinely friendly, easy to talk to, and didn't rush the moment, which set a really positive tone right away. I ordered a cheesesteak with everything on it, and when it came out, it was clear they don't cut corners here. The sandwich was fully loaded from one end to the other, with finely chopped steak that was juicy and well seasoned. The cheese was melted throughout instead of just sitting on top, so every bite had that same balanced flavor. Even with all the toppings, nothing felt overwhelming, and the bread held everything together without falling apart. It also came with fries, which were hot and crispy, and I paired everything with a peach Crush. That combination worked really well, especially with how rich the cheesesteak was. Between the quality of the food and the customer service, this is an easy recommendation. If you are craving a cheesesteak and want something that actually feels worth it, this spot is a solid choice. The ambience was just simple. It gave a mom and pop shop vibe, I love it.

Daniel's Cheesesteak House - Winter Garden, FL Just when I…read morethought Orlando-area cheesesteaks were doomed to be sad, touristy imitations, Daniel's showed up and restored my faith in humanity. This is the real deal: thin-sliced ribeye chopped on the griddle with perfect browning, Cooper Sharp melting like it's supposed to, fresh Amaroso rolls flown in from Philly that actually have the right chew and crust. Place is small, family-run local business. If you grew up in the Philly burbs or just know what a proper cheesesteak is supposed to taste like, do yourself a favor and get over to Winter Garden. Easily the best cheesesteak in Central Florida, full stop. Already planning my next trip. TL;DR: South Jersey/Philly expats, your search is over. Go. Now. Bring napkins.
