    Inside/ordering counter

After visiting the Morse Museum, I walked over to George's Cafe for lunch. The interior was very cozy and eclectic. The girl working at the front counter was very nice and helpful when ordering. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with the house made potato chips. The sandwich was very good and a plentiful serving of chicken salad. The house made potato chips were SO GOOD. You must order those as a side! There is a soda machine to help yourself when it comes to drinks. My food only took a short amount of time to come out. After lunch, I saw cookies come out. I ordered the chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. The oatmeal was so good with the icing on top. The chocolate chip had a ton of chocolate chips. I would recommend just having another staff member up front helping clear tables and serve because there was only one employee doing all these jobs.

3-parking 10-service 8-ambiance 7- food I stopped in on a whim while on my way to a nail appointment. The place reminds me of a cafe you'd see in a hallmark movie or Stars Hallow. I got a homemade lemonade and a cookie to go then came back and got the puddsy to go - In house fresh roasted turkey breast, Applewood bacon, muenster cheese, homemade sun dried tomato dressing, served on a fresh baked French Baguette. Everything was tasty and I want to come back and have the burger while enjoying the surroundings. They have plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Definitely worth the circling for a parking spot.

George's Cafe is a great stop on trendy Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. It has a pleasant and comfortable ambiance. It is a nice place to grab a meal and the staff was friendly and professional and the food was very good. They have a great brunch and I woukd definitely recommend stopping by for a great brunch. All in all, this was a very positive experience and I will give it five stars.

I've been wanting to visit this place for a while, so my husband and I finally stopped by to order something to go. We got the chicken salad sandwich, and I believe it was Douglas who helped us--he was kind enough to offer us a cookie to try after I mentioned I've heard great things about them. It did not disappoint! Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be coming back for more. ( apologies if I got the name wrong but whoever it was that helped us, was so kind!! )

I went on a Sunday afternoon. There was one employee working the front counter. There was a sudden rush of people right after I arrived. She did a good job keeping things moving, but she definitely could have used help. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a side of potato salad. Both were kind of plain to me and not the most flavorful. The portions were fairly generous. I had enough to eat, but I was a tad underwhelmed.

Had an excellent lunch and respite from the heat. It was the perfect laid back atmosphere to spend time with old friends. No crowds and no wait since it's a block north of most of the busyness of Park Ave. Highly recommended. All of our sandwiches and salads were excellent and good portions too. There were several regulars it seemed sitting at the 'bar'. We walked in at prime lunch hour and got two four top tables without a wait. It's counter ordering the. They bring it to your table. Cozy Americana memorabilia including The Beatles, and an old piano that my daughter indulged the customers with some ragtime. Definitely worth the short walk, and very convenient to the Morris Museum and the Catholic Church. Will be back.

Beautiful salads. Best in town! Yummy breads. Large portions. My order was easily enough for two people, or a to go box. So fresh! Comfortable seating and clean. Lovely garden seating if it's nice outside. The ONLY bad thing I can say is minor, and that is that sometimes it's hard to find parking on the same block. So be prepared to walk a short while.

Turkey sandwich with fresh carved turkey

We ordered take-out and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was even after it was transported and sat for a bit. The portions they give you are huge. I ordered a Turkey sandwich and each half has three thick chunks of turkey. And I'm not talking deli turkey. This is fresh sliced roasted turkey. It reminded me of what I'd eat for Thanksgiving. So juicy. While I enjoyed the amount of turkey and the flavor for the most part, I wasn't blown away. Half my sandwich was missing its bread which was a bit weird. It needed something more, too, like a spread or at least more than one packet of Mayo since the sandwich was so packed full. My sandwich came with two sides so I chose the fresh fruit and broccoli salad. The fruit was lovely, a good combination of so many fresh fruits, and plenty of it. One of the better mixed fruits I've had. The broccoli salad was just ok. It was a bit dry and flavorless for me. Let's talk about the cookies. Holy cow, they are so big and packed full of stuff. I ordered the white chocolate macadamia nut but instead was given the peanut butter. Kind of a disappointment since the white chocolate kind are my favorite. I'm not usually a fan of peanut butter cookies at all but let me tell you... this was the BEST peanut butter cookie I've ever had!! It wasn't just peanut butter flavored. There were chunks of peanuts and honey roasted peanuts and gooey honey and peanut buttery pieces. It was mouth watering. Definitely enough for two servings but I ate it all in one. I'd like to actually dine in soon and try something else because it truly seems like quality food.

Light, airy, not overly sweet, and gone in about three bites flat. No notes. Tried the crème brûlée pastry too. Points for creativity all day. It's a cool concept and well executed, just didn't hit the same level as the cream puff. Still good, just not the headliner. And the iced tea deserves a mention. Strong. Like, actually strong. Not the watered-down afterthought you get at most spots. This one shows up with purpose. Overall, easy four stars. Fun stop, great vibe, and a menu that keeps things interesting without trying too hard. Just don't kid yourself into thinking you're only ordering one thing. That plan falls apart immediately.

That being said, it is a particular method that I'm expecting... as well as a particular strength I expect to receive when I order one. Even if a phin filter is not used...convince me with the taste of the coffee. From the moment they started making my coffee, I knew it wasn't gonna be what I wanted. However, it was already too late as I was invested and had driven quite a ways and brought a friend with me. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and when I saw the worker walk over and get my coffee out of a big beverage dispenser with a spigot, I cringed. And yes, it was just as bad as you might imagine if you are frequent drinker of traditional Vietnamese coffee. It was not strong, not sweet, and actually had some bitter notes. My friend got a churro coffee of some sort and was satisfied, but nothing to write home about. I gave the stars for the ambiance of the shop. It was different with lots of plants and flowers and was really calming and cute. But I was disappointed in the coffee overall and would not return. The name of the shop just really threw me for a loop so please don't be fooled or enticed by the name. I cannot speak to the other items on menu although we did try and order a particular pastry and it was not available. UPDATE: To address the concerns of comments left by the owner I'm well aware of authentic brewing vs. Western methods as well as the beans used. I'm also accustomed to waiting 10 minutes for my coffee at many locations because I understand the process. I do however understand that this process may not be conducive or practical to their business. My intention is not to detour business but to be real about my experience and to help others that may have similar expectations. To assume that my expectations are shaped by "western coffee expectations" seems...biased. I live close to a predominantly Asian cultural center and for other reasons that I don't feel the need to validate, I think my take is pretty solid. I believe in supporting small businesses but will not give a great review if it is not warranted...which is subjective. I could have mentioned it to your staff but time was a factor as I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me. For that, you do have my apologies.

Between the unique decor, eclectic crowd, and strong sense of local culture, it's long been a favorite for many people for many reasons. We went for the first Sunday open mic at the new location, and the place was packed. The crowd was colorful, the energy was high, and it truly felt like the community showing up to support something they love.
