    Great warm spudnuts
    Michael D.

We stopped in a Saturday afternoon and after looking over the menu we went with 6 spudnut special. It was our first time here. We sat outdoors and waited for our order, they make them fresh and they come out hot. OMG they were so good. We will definitely return to support this business.

Stopped in with the hubby while driving through. Found Verrilli's on the map and wanted to stop in to get the full Jersey experience by getting a Taylor ham sandwich, fresh baked biscotti and a spudnut. We had a good time chatting with Christie while we were there. She's a super cool chick that made us feel at home. Sandwich was delish, she recommended one with sausage and potatoes in it. We had to try a spudnut so we split the cinnamon sugar one. It was very light, airy and delicious. Thank you Vertillis!

Not only are the donuts to die for, the staff is always absolutely lovely. One of those spots where you walk in and you feel like you've known them for 20 years. Always a great experience from start to finish. Maple bacon has my heart but you clearly can't make a bad choice here. YUM!

Christie is truly amazing. If I lived nearby, I'd be there everyday not only for the delicious food and baked goods, but for a family owned business that truly takes the time to make you feel at home. And it wasn't just me. We came back 3 times and heard other customers experiencing genuine chats about all things life. The spudnut donuts are truly the most amazing. Think like a thick style Krispy Kreme but so much better. And my kid says the Nutella one should be at the top of the list while all his teammates loved the original cinnamon sugar! We also came back for breakfast and they were able to accommodate food sensitivities. My kid said his bacon egg potatoes and cheese was better than anything we've had in NY! lol Lastly, for price and quality, this place is a winner for families. It's more of a hole in the wall than a place focusing on aesthetics. And there's a reason: it focuses on great food and great customer experience. We will always be back when in town!! Thank you for taking care of us the last couple of days!!

The donuts were sooo good! We got the oreo donut and the strawberry glazed donut and were blown away, they make them right on the spot when you order so they come out hot and fluffy. The person at the desk was so nice and told us about the flavors when we were not sure what to get. The place is small and has been here for a while but it's hidden so I hope it gets the hype it deserves!

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for spudnuts!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. Customer service and the delicious treats will keep me coming! Seems that I need to check out their savory items too. I got 4 specialty spudnuts and 1 classic cinnamon sugar for $19 - and they offer a discount for cash payments. The Oreo and Samoa spudnuts are very strong chocolate flavor. The butter glaze with raspberry drizzle and the original cinnamon sugar are my favorite! It's best with lighter flavors so you can really taste the dough. Cannoli doughnut is also so delicious, and covered with sugar. I think it would be even better if covered in powdered sugar.

Deez spudnuts are sooo good! And Verrilli's has such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Always a pleasure to stop in here for a treat. Look forward to trying some of the other menu items at some point!

My family and I really enjoyed the donuts/spudnut at Verrilli's, especially when eaten when warm! The donuts are made to order and lots of different choices to customize to your liking. My personal favorite was the cinnamon sugar, it was perfect and the donut was so soft. The owner was so incredibly kind, especially to my boys. Highly recommended for something different.

The hot homemade donuts, oh yeasss! The woman at the shop, Christine, was an awesome morning wake up call. Great sense of humor and personality. Oh, the donuts, pretty good stuff. Worth the walk. I had Boston crème and a traditional glazed. Ya wanna know, simple is better. The glaze was great. When in town, please stop by and enjoy.

The donuts were absolutely amazing, I tried both the Oreos and the strawberry glazed with sprinkles. These were truly the best donuts I've ever had, they were made after we placed the order so they come out fresh and hot every time. The service was also great, i didn't get the woman's name who was working but she was very friendly and helpful. As far as the ambiance goes it's tiny, only 3 tables or so, clean, and smells great.

Amazing service and a great family run business. Donuts are made fresh to order! They also sell pizza shells to go with sauce and cheese! Perfect spot with easy parking.

I try to give my mom a @BigDudesBigFoods kind of #MothersDayby finding a new place to get some baked goods every year. This year, instead of a new place, I found an old one @verrillispizzaandbakery in #MorristownNJ. Wow! Verrilli's has been there since 1898. This small family business serves breakfast , lunch and dinner but today I am here for their "Spudnuts" which are delicious made to order doughnuts . We happened to go when church was about to begin so trafficwas crazy . It was so worth it. The #Spudnuts were delicious. The staff was so friendly and familiar that I'm going to check my #AncestryDNA to see if our paths cross . I'm going to have to come back with Joe to try some more hearty stuff. . #Verrillis #BigDudesBigFoods #SupportSmallBusiness #BDBFCertified #BDBF HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM !!!

PROS: this place was a nice historic bakery that served more than just baked goods. They have salads, pizza, burgers, you name it. The staff is nice and they have reasonable prices. They also make it fast for you and have a parking lot CONS: there were no menus displayed anywhere except on the counter right near the register which prevents people from seeing it if there's a line OVERALL: I'll 100% come back here when I'm in the area. Their burger was great

Unfortunately, I didn't order a drink because I don't like coffee and the only non-coffee drink they had was Hot Chocolate and unsweetened iced tea. Too hot for hot chocolate and I don't like unsweetened iced tea. The ladies at the counter were very nice though and gave me some tap water! Overall a great experience. Sad I just found out about this place as they prepare to close their doors in September.

The staff was friendly and patient when we decided on what to order. Five items were tried, and each will be described below. Black & White Cookie ($4.50) - This was a traditional sweet that was done right. There was a nice balance of the chocolate and vanilla flavoring while the cookie was not too soft or hard. Chocolate & Vanilla Pretzel ($5.50) - This was very interesting. It was not overly sweet and was large. It was just a different type of pretzel. It was a tad dry, but not bad. Pumpkin Donut ($3) - This had a nice texture, but the actual donut did not have enough sugar I thought. The pumpkin frosting was just right though. Cinabun ($5) - This was very solid. It looked like it was going to be filling, but it was lighter than imagined. The cream cheese frosting was too much for me, but it had a nice texture. Swiss Chalet Wrap ($13.99) - This came with fried eggplant, arugula, tomato bruschetta, and a balsamic dressing. This was my favorite item tried, no doubt. The wrap was filled and nicely made with a good balance of the ingredients. The eggplant was fried ideally too. It was a well put together wrap. The coleslaw that was provided was plain, but there was much provided anyway. Will I go back? I would.

They ended up not enjoying it, so that's why there's some missing and none of us wanted to eat it anymore! Spoke to Suzi when picking up the cake and explained to her that the cake would not be eaten on the day of, but instead two days later. The cake was for September 1st and that happened to be Labor Day so I had to pick it up earlier! She said, "That's fine," and it can be stored in the fridge for up to a week and in the freezer for up to three months. So, not sure why there's a sense of judgement, cakes should be able to be stored for longer periods of time! And we wanted to order from a bakery specifically, since it was a special occasion. Not sure what your reference to a "squished" cake has to do with it food will accumulate residue in containers overtime! 9/12/25 From seeing professional pictures online of the beautiful cakes on Google Reviews of Suzi Cakes and good reviews on Yelp, I genuinely thought that the red velvet cake I ordered over the phone with Suzi would be amazing. Boy, was I wrong. I had to throw out the cake after 6 days because no one wanted to eat it anymore. We gave some part of the cake away to a relative, so we didn't consume much...not sure if they enjoyed it either. There were 'red' flags that I noticed when placing an order with Suzi. I chose to ignore them because I needed a nicely catered cake for my sister's birthday. Suzi sounded very direct over the phone and sometimes dismissive, so I felt that I needed to truly know and prepare for how I wanted my cake each time I called. I could not go in person to explain or show pictures due to the distance from her business in East Hanover. Suzi gave me the listed price of $90, and I personally thought it was overpriced for a 7-inch, single-tiered cake. I originally did not want to place with Suzi, but I could not find a place around me that would do a red velvet cake legitimately, besides Coco Luxe Cakes in Peapack and Gladstone. Coco Luxe discontinued their red velvet cakes, unfortunately, which is the cake I truly needed, hence why I ordered here. Next, trying to find the suite number and building for this place was a nightmare, another red flag. It's very tight behind some train tracks and very easy to miss. Thank goodness for advanced technology and Google Maps/Street View for helping me navigate. I called Suzi on the phone so she could service me at the front desk to get the cake. I picked up the cake and truly believed that I would make my sister's birthday special, and I planned everything perfectly. I stored the cake in the fridge for 2 days before eating and followed all of Suzi's storage directions. We tried the cake and it was awful. It had a fermented-like taste, and we could not eat it. I saw a similar review on Yelp of someone having Suzi make their cake for their wedding, and their wedding guests could not eat it; it was that bad. I was hoping that would not happen to me, but it did, surely. The icing was hard, dry, and chunky; the cake itself lacked flavor. I got a red velvet cake from ShopRite in July for $16.99, and it tasted way better; just the cake was a little dry. I called Suzi to give her some feedback so she knows. She informed me to come back so she could examine the taste, but at that point, we threw the cake out. $90 truly wasted. Can't really ask for a refund, I guess, because I never came back to her about it, because her location is almost an hour from my house...not sustainable for me. Despite the good reviews, I will never go to Suzi Cakes again. I will stick with another recommendation I got from a relative for Coco Luxe in Peapack if I want a professionally made cake from a bakery. My sister's birthday was ruined, and no one in my family liked the cake. The price for the cake was outrageous, and compared to other local bakeries in the area, the price does not justify the taste. The presentation of the cake is good, but the taste is abysmal. Save yourself, your palate, and your wallet by looking elsewhere!
