New to the area! This place is amazing. We walked in and got greeted right away! The gentleman behind the counter was very welcoming and pretty much told us about the place and what they offer. Came here a few weeks ago for sandwiches for my wife and I as I was recommended this place by numerous people at my new job. Food: The sandwiches we got were excellent. Unfortunately I do not have a picture, but I ordered a roast beef, mozz, hot pepper sandwich which was both thick and flavorful. Service: Everyone from the deli clerk to the checkout were super nice. They appear to be busy at the counter sometimes but there is someone always there to help. Aesthetic: the business is split into two parts, when you walk in you have a dine-in area on the left side with ample amount of seating and on the right is the deli and baked goods section. Every time we come back to Jersey visiting family we have to stop in to grab our homemade raviolis and fresh pasta. Their sauces/gravy are amazing! We also love the restaurant side for fresh pasta and their deli sandwiches are the best in town. We love how it's a family owned business with that real Italian feel inside. Food was absolutely delicious. Ordered the rigatoni with vodka sauce and it was a nice portion with the pasta cooked a perfect al dente - the sauce was so tasty! The younger staff were very friendly and helpful and their service was great! There was an older woman servicing tables in the back who was more curt and not so nice (only to the customers she knew that walked in). I can't even begin to count the number of times we have gotten food here. Probably on an almost weekly basis at times! It's always deeeeelicious! The sandwiches, the bread, the desserts - we love it all. So I didn't hesitate for one second to order Catering for my daughters christening. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed. When my husband went to pick it up, the woman working was incredibly rude to him and gave him a hard time shut what time he arrived They told us to pickup between 9-10. He was there around 9:40. She told him this was "too small of a window"?!? Then she told him he had to wait bc the chef wasn't done, and their bread ovens weren't working so he'd also face to wait until the delivery truck came. No problem! We understand these things happen, but she could've handled it better given none of that was his fault... Then the food itself - unrecognizable. The baked ziti was SO dry and SO salty it was almost inedible (and I like generous seasoning on my food). I was very surprised it didn't come with extra red sauce. The roasted pork was pretty good. The potatoes were SO dry and undercooked (hard). And the roasted vegetables were strange... (mostly peppers and onions - I expected broccoli etc. Guess I should've asked though..) Like I said, we love this place and will keep picking up lunch on the reg. But I'm SUPER bummed about the catering. Clearly the larger scale cooking isn't they think, so I absolutely wouldn't order for my future events. read more

My wife and I arrived just before six and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated we waited another 15 before bread was brought to the table. Our waitress, who was very nice but completely underwater serving all of the tables solo, came to the table and brought water 5-10 minutes later. We ordered right away, 2 entrees : Manicotti, and ORECCHIETTE CON SALSICCE E POMODORO. These arrived after over another 30 minutes at least. The manicotti was tasty, but the waitress never brought the extra parm we requested, the red sauce was lovely. The Orecchiette was served drowning in the "light broth" and with barely any Italian sausage. However, once moved to one side of the bowl, the pasta, etc. drained enough to be eaten without needing a spoon. Both were served piping hot, which was very nice. The service was very slow and in the 90 minutes we were seated after waiting for 30, water was only refilled once in spite of repeated requests. While being understaffed (I assume) was potentially an issue, this was not the experience we were hoping for in this establishment. The atmosphere would have been great were it not for the obnoxious table of 6 who were running the waitress and treating the place as if they should be the only focus of all in attendance while consuming 4 bottles of byob wine in under an hour. read more

Just had a sausage egg and cheese on a fresh ciabatta roll. It was incredibly delicious. The bread was crunchy on outside and soft on the inside toasted. Been going here for many many years for their bread, which is very good. Have had their sandwiches over the years and they were (just) decent and have had dinner a few times and the food is the same, decent, nothing to write home about nor anything special. The service has always been VERY good and friendly. Both the sandwiches and meals are priced OK. Last week we ordered a pizza (and some other stuff), which sounded good by the description, and I have seen their pizza oven so wanted to give it a shot. HORRENDOUS!!! Literally burnt bottom and I would have gladly returned it but had a house filled with people so I couldn't. Not well done...BURNT. When the order was placed I never said one word relating to "making it well done" and even if I did there is a HUGE difference between well done and black burnt. Inexcusable to allow a pie to leave your establishment like that AND the place was stone empty when I picked up my order so there is no excuse. One look at the pizza and it was deposited directly where it belongs, in the garbage!! With a plethora of pizza places nearby, and I tried them all, and a few are excellent, there is NO reason to return except for some bread and even then, there are fine options nearby. read more

As a part time Door Dasher, I would NOT EAT HERE. The employees who are on the counter don't know which end is up. They have no customer service skills. Rude and unfriendly. Half of my order was missing and the employee rolled her eyes when I called her out on it. No apologies, a "thank you," "it's all here now." On Saint Joseph's Day I asked my wife to call and see if they will make Saint Joseph's pasta dish. They said yes place your order now and you can pick it up later just give us the time you wanna pick it up and we'll have it ready. My wife goes to pick up the dinner and they hand her a Saint Joseph's pastry. My wife said this is not what I ordered I ordered Saint Joseph pasta. They didn't know what to say so they told her if she was willing to wait 15 minutes they would make the dish for her 45 minutes later she comes home with the dish didn't even resemble Saint Joseph's pasta. The only thing it had in it that was similar was the pasta and breadcrumb. It had no garlic no anchovy no caper nothing else some green some kind of green don't even know what it was look like grass not even sure what they use, but whoever made that dish does not know how to cook an Italian meal. I was very disappointed for 20 something dollars for that dish and it went in the garbage. read more

Stopped in here for the first time recently and had an awesome breakfast sandwich! Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a roll. The roll was what made the sandwich, it was delicious! Staff was very friendly. When I mentioned it was my first time here, the owner gave me a cannoli on the house! Price for the sandwich was just under $5 which is right in line with other places. I was in the area with colleagues for a professional development and one of the hosting teachers suggested lunch here. This place is immaculate and gorgeous on the inside! It's almost like a specialty grocery store, bakery and deli all in one. We were pressed for time so I had to choose a sandwich quickly but the multigrain roll was worth every carb I ingested today. Everything looked delicious. The turkey was fresh and great quality. Plus they have San Benedetto iced tea which I lived off of in Europe and is very difficult to find stateside. The workers here are a little rushed and overwhelmed it seems to be overly hospitable but we were served quickly and the food was good. I would definitely try this place again. read more

A relative recommended this place, and I'm so glad they did. I came here to get a few sandwiches to go. Anthony and Sons originally started out as a family own baking company in 1984 with his two sons, Joseph and Baldo. They have been baking breads for many of the local restaurants, and now sell them to the public, along with serving homemade pizzas, deli sandwiches and hot Italian classic dishes, Italian desserts , panettone and cookies. You can take out or order off their dine in menu. Anthony and Sons's sells fresh cheeses, sauces, imported olive oils, and Italian pastas. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised to find loaf after loaf of homemade artisan breads, semolina breads, round Italian breads, Italian breads with sesame seeds, and several different types of rolls all up in front for purchasing. Anthony and Son's is open seven days a week. They have some tables so you can sit down and order from a server. This place reminded me of my local Italian market where I live. As I walked down the aisle, I saw the deli area. A long counter with fresh cold cuts, and a menu above that was easy to read with plenty of choices to choose from. My mouth starting watering and it was hard to make a decision. There were so many interesting choices. Everyday up on their board is a list of specials.You can get soups and salads too. I ordered the Homemade Chicken Salad with Cranberries and Glazed Walnuts on Ciabatta bread with fresh Arugula for my sister-in-law. Because they bake so many different breads I was able to change the bread for her. This sandwich was loaded with chunks of fresh chicken, cranberries, and glazed walnuts. The arugula, added a nice peppery touch . The next two sandwiches I ordered were the same. I asked for Breaded Chicken Cutlet with sautéed Broccoli Rabe and fresh mozzarella on French Bread. The Chicken Cutlet was crispy and tender, the Broccoli Rabe was cooked perfectly and not bitter with hints of fresh garlic. The fresh mozzarella gave that added creaminess I was looking for, and the fresh bread was perfect for absorbing all the juices. I got two of the daily specials to have for dinner later. The first was the Orecchiette pasta ( means little ears) with Italian Sausage and sautéed Broccoli Rabe. The dish was $9.95 and it was a nice portion. The Sausage and Broccoli Rabe along with the Orecchiette are a perfect combination and with added grated cheese , makes this a wonderful dish. (I took a video of this dish being made.) The other special I ordered was the Sliced Prime Rib Sandwich with Horseradish Cheese and Jalapeños on a French Baguette. This too was a delicious sandwich. The prime rib was sliced thin and piled up on a baguette with horseradish cheese and jalapeños. It was tender and the horseradish and jalapeños gave it a nice bite. I got everything to go , so I was able to try everything I ordered for my family. Anthony and Son's is located in a strip mall on Rt 10 East in Succasunna. There is plenty of free parking. The food is great but service is lacking... You can't make this shit up. So I just stop at Anthony's and Son on route 10 in Roxbury. I get a sandwich. The girl at the register with my fork and spoon out and put it on the countertop. I tell her "look it's not the coronavirus thing, but I have an auto immune disease and you can't put stuff like that On a countertop for two minutes and then expect me to use it to eat." She proceeds to take another fork and spoon out put it right on the counter top again and says "oh OK I get it." I correct her a second time. My hand to God brother, she turns to say something to her work or something she reaches into the box to get another spoon and fork and put it on the dirty counter at third time. You can't make this shit up. At that point I said to her do you want me to go to the food and health inspector? You're a food handler!? read more

From the car parked in the front, I had seen the lady behind the counter take other people that came in after my husband. My husband came out and said to me that he will never come back in their again! My husband went on to tell me that the lady behind the counter had the nerve to say to him aren't you going to tip?
