Delicious cakes, kind service, and lovely floral interior decor! My family also enjoyed the almond cake and chocolate roll. I plan on visiting again to try the boba tea and some of the other desserts.

Granted, I've only been here once, but right now I'm wavering on a lot for this review. I absolutely love Shan Shan Noodles so I had high hopes for their dessert place, and maybe I oversold myself on that. First of all, don't touch! I was poking the plastic-wrapped pastries to see what was soft, turning them over to see what ingredients, and was told to use the tongs. Really, I need tongs for an already wrapped pastry? But I don't want to intrude on their cleanliness, so I include this here as a note that you will need to mind the same! (It's a very clean looking place. It fits the vibe.) More than the prompt if abrupt conversation, the food hasn't convinced me yet. The storekeep vouched it's all made there, and I buy it. Chinese desserts are not intended to be as sweet as Western, and that is definitely the case here. The sweetest was the one I got as a non-dessert! The shredded pork cream roll, the cream really made it sweet, overtaking the salty shredded meat on top (which is so cool to see). The red bean and black sesame rolls were hard to place as dessert vs. appetizer, and I acknowledge that's just me. The date squares were interesting but a little less than I hoped - a little too puffy, a piece of date or two inside but it should be many pieces or no pieces IMO to avoid setting expectations. Plus one bite had a really weird bitter taste for some reason. This review could go up or down. Next time I Shan Shan, I will Sweet Shan along with it and pick up some more items to nail down my thoughts.

I was craving bubble tea and sweets but did not want to try all the way to Bergen County. When I searched I found the spot, which I didn't know opened up so close to me. My brother and I checked it out and I'm so happy we did. We went a little too happy when we went. We got the blueberry coconut cake, black sesame roll, matcha cookies, coconut cream bread, matcha cake roll plus matcha bubble tea and the bubble tea with pudding. We shared with other family members because we were so excited there's a place so close to home. The cakes were so moist and fluffy. They were the perfect texture. The best part, the bubble tea is honestly the best bubble tea in the morris county area. No need to drive to bergen anymore when there's a spot right here. The boba was the perfect chew and the one with pudding, it was very refreshing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

So happy there is an Asian bakery in the area with freshly made pastries and baked goods. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and they had a promotion where you buy 6 items and get one free. We got the: -red bean bun - taro bun - coconut twist pastry - egg tarts - blueberry sponge cake slice - mango mousse cake slice - hot dog pastry The pastries were fresh, delicious and not overly sweet. All items were individually packed in the behind the self serve windows. We also purchased a taro bubble tea and classic bubble tea. The kids enjoyed the drinks.

Blueberry coconut cake. So light and fluffy and delicious!

This place is fantastic! The interior is very clean and there's a lot of fantastic pastries to buy at a very reasonable price! I opted for the blueberry coconut cake and the Napoleon (after great debate.. Everything looks delicious!) and what I got was FANTASTIC. The blueberry cake was so fluffy and light, the perfect amount of moisture and the sweet blueberry topping and layers were an excellent fresh flavor. The napoleon is probably the best Napoleon I've ever had?! For one, it was MASSIVE. Like, easily feed 4 people off of one dessert. Then, this thing is CRUNCHY. So many times I've had Napoleons that are soggy and hard to cut through because how soggy the flaky layers got. This thing was INCREDIBLY flakey and crispy! Even after hours! Even the next day! Not only that but as an added bonus, the creme in the middle actually had walnuts in it. Definitely not a typical addition to a Napoleon, but very good! The crunchy nutty flavor went really well with the lightly sweet cream and the flakey layers. The pastries are also VERY reasonably priced. Most things are in the $3-5 dollar range and very large for the price. Not to mention the QUALITY! Seriously, there were so many other treats here that caught my eye that I had to stop myself from getting, but I definitely want to come back and try it all. But also I'd even go back just to get that Napoleon again!

Came here after dinner looking for a nice asian dessert. This review is just for the coconut blueberry cake. The cake itself was nice, light and spongy. However, the coconut flakes were a little overpowering and the cake was pretty tasteless, so I felt like I was eating a grainy sponge that was slightly sweet. Overall, not something I really feel the need to try again.

So happy there's now a bubble tea spot in Parsippany. I live pretty close by so I've been able to drop by a couple times now. While I haven't gotten a chance to try any of the baked goods, I vouch for the bubble tea. I've tried taro, brown sugar, regular, coffee, and matcha. The brown sugar was obscenely sweet. My teeth actually hurt trying to write this review, but every other flavor wasn't too sweet which I can appreciate.

Let me get one thing straight. Shan Shan Noodles doesn't care about this review. They don't care if…read moreyou come. Why? Because they are busy AF. They are buzzing. We went for the first time Sunday at like 3pm? Full. Take out orders flying out the door. It's a cute place. Standard strip mall aesthetic. But they do have a window where you can see them hand pulling the noodles. That's right, hand pulling the noodles which is the main attraction. The food is from the North Western part of China near Pakistan so there are some Indian influences like their Cumin lamb and pulled noodles one of their most popular dishes. But I'm getting ahead of myself. With my vegetarian wife who as usual ruins everything by insisting we order vegetarian appetizers. Scallion pancakes were delicious. No pictures because we ate them immediately. Pan fried dumpling. 9 of them. That's a big portion. And it was like 9-10 bucks? They make their own dumpling wrappers, their own dipping sauces. Dumplings were very good. You could really taste the vegetables. Focused on the quality of the ingredients. My wife had the hand pulled noodles in hot oil. Marked spicy it was American spicy. Did not blow your head off. O enjoyed them. They give you a pair of scissors. Because it's one long noodle. Do not use them on your birthday. More on that later. I had the aforementioned cumin lamb and pulled noodles. I liked it but it was overwhelmingly cumin flavored which obviously is the point of cumin lamb. I'm not saying over seasoned I'm just saying it announced itself as this is cumin lamb. Period. We also had bubble tea! How fun is that? My wife had taro which they made with non dairy milk for her. I had pomegranate with exploding bubbles. Never had those before. Also super fun. They did not explode in an American way or even a Chinese way as both countries let's face it are pretty well known for making things explode. No in a pleasant way. Waitress was delightful we had obviously a long conversation about the food and the restaurant. The scissors are for Americans who share their food. In China you would eat the noodles slurp them without cutting them because eating long noodles especially on your birthday is supposed to promote a long life. We did not learn this until after cutting my wife's noodles. It was her birthday. I will miss her but also look forward to meat based appetizers. One door closes and all that. They also own the bakery a few doors down. Very light chiffon style cakes. Not too sweet. Chocolate Oreo cake. I asked if that was very traditional. Oh how we laughed at my hilarious joke.

The dumplings were flavorful, hot, and perfectly steamed. They were definitely the highlight of our meal. Next came the beef pancake which was crunchy, chewy, had excellent flavor, but slightly heavy on the sauce. Lastly, was the braised beef noodle soup. The broth's flavor was on the mild side, whilst relying on the spice's heat to shine as the primary flavor. The beef was also mild, but especially tender. There was also a good amount of proteins in the soup and the hand pulled noodles were perfectly thick and chewy. Overall it was a great dish for a chilly night out.

We have been to many hibachis and thought it would be the same everywhere. And boy were we wrong. The staff and service were perfect they were very attentive. We ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi. From other spots I've been to they usually give the clear soup and the salad with the wonderful carrot ginger dressing but for whatever reason this spot only gives soup. As for the hibachi chef he was very dull. Did not keep the table lively at all. Usually we get food thrown in our mouths or a sake stream to keep up with but none of that happened. I will say it was me and my partner and a man and his younger daughter so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since it was not exactly appropriate for the child. But otherwise it was just someone cooking in front of us. No show. As for the food it was quite bland. As you can see in the picture the noodles and rice barely have any color. I was expecting some "fry" to my fried rice and noodles. Maybe I am just spoiled by my regular spots.
