This restaurant was very nostalgic for me. We ordered the half chicken meal for my family. We chose potato salad and rice as our sides. No joke, this reminded me exactly of El Pollo Loco like 30 years ago, except the authentic version. This must be the style of food that EPL was mirrored off of. Anyhow, the chicken was delicious and the lady working behind the counter was very nice. There was nothing special about the ambience and the restaurant had only 2 or 3 tables but it was just right for what we were looking for. I tried Rico's Pollos Puebla at the Taste of Arcadia a few months ago, and I had to make sure I went to the restaurant after the chicken was so delicious and juicy. Today I ordered the half chicken, without any tortillas or any sides because I just wanted the protein, but I was very satisfied with my order. They let me get half spicy and regular which I am happy because I was able to try both, and it was absolutely very good and flavorful. The service was pretty fast. It was not a lot of people inside when I came in, but they greeted me once I came in and they helped me out. It was a bummer that they was out of corn on the cob, which seems like it is very popular so they run out at times. I really wanted to try it with my chicken, but it's OK maybe next time. It is also very clean inside! The place is pretty quaint and Clean inside, and it has one table where you can sit. It's more so a spot to order and take home to eat. Overall, I did love the chicken and when I come back next time, hopefully they will have the corn on the cob. It's located in a little shopping center, but there is parking and it is easy to find. Came once and I paid nearly $25 for a 3 piece and a beverage. The 3 pieces are very small, mostly bone. I made the mistake of coming back. I ordered the chicken burrito with a beverage thunking it would be less expensive...the price...almost $20. It would be worth it if there was something special about the flavor or quality but its just plain food. Nothing worth the high price. No way, ill come back. There's this other place near by something chicken king, not Mexican food. But with them I get a lot of rice, hummus, a salad and 2 chicken Lula thing, and a pita bread for like $14. We found this place after the horse race, it's less than 10 minutes away from racetracks. It was our first time there so I wasn't sure what to order. Not a problem, cashier was very nice and friendly. There's a mild and spicy chicken. I was afraid it would be unbearable. Spice level is a mild 3. But you want more! A new chicken spot opened up! Thry are setup for takeout due to COVID but the place is fairly small so likely more of a takeout spot anyway. We got the 4 piece chicken with 3 sides. For the chicken you get to choose between spicy or regular OR BOTH! For someone who likes to try different foods and flavors this was a plus for me! So of course got both flavors. The packaging was awesome. They separated the chicken so that the spicy and regular don't mis and you can tell which is which. Talk about service. Went for the first time on Wednesday, Nov. 1st. I purchased two, 3 piece combos, 1 spicy, 1 regular. First and foremost, the chicken was just okay, the smallest pieces of chicken were given, the spicy tasted just like mole. The potato salad was not homemade, it was the kind you buy at the market, too sweet and not very fresh, the corn cobs was old and looked dried out as if it was warmed multiple times and let it sit. The same for the corn tortillas, the minute I picked one out of the pack, they broke up into pieces. The salsa was nothing but a few chunks of tomato and onion, the rest was liquid. All this for a 3 piece, $17.plus for each plate. Needless to say, I won't be going back, what a waste of my hard earned money. Went with regular chicken versus spicy since it was our first time but opted for the spicy pico de gallo. It had a nice kick to it. For the price and flavor, it was a good meal. I spent almost $100 on chicken (each 8pc with 3 sides is $30) with some store bought macaroni and potato salad. The rice was the only thing made by them. The "salsa" was nasty, it was mostly liquid and hardly any tomatoes. The chicken was good but the spicy chicken is ridiculously spicy. But the worst part is that the macaroni salad and potato salad were definitely store bought. They don't even have the time or self-respect as a restaurant to make their own side dishes. Total disappointment and disgrace. Super expensive! One thing that really stands out about this place is how clean their food packing and prep is. When we order take out from other places, the food is usually sloppy, all over the containers, sometimes leaky, smashed etc...But not here! I like that they always pack everything CLEAN here. Delicious! This is our go to for take out. Never disappointing. The salsa is delicious. It's like, El Pollo Loco but 50x better!

Their chicken is delicious and have 2 different types available. You can get rotisserie or spicy. Their sides are also pretty good but not too crazy on their beans...they just plain beans. The only thing I don't like about them is that they limit/control the types of chicken pieces you can order. Even though you can order "ala cart" they kind of force you to buy a whole chicken. For example they'll limit you to 2 pieces of each cut. So you can't order 4 breast or 4 thighs or 4legs only. If you want 4 of any particular piece you'll basically have to order 2 whole chickens. My family doesn't like the wings and in order to get 4 legs we had to order 2 whole chickens. So their ala cart isn't very true to the name. They have limitations. That's the only downside to this place which makes it very pricey to come here. Just wish they would let you order ala cart, I'd come here more often but it's expensive. Service is to bad either and is fast, they had my family sized order within 10 minutes. -Also when I got home I realized that they had cut the chicken breast to make it seem that you get 2 breast like there should be in a full chicken but was only 2 half's so in reality you only get 1 full breast when you buy a whole chicken. read more
