Have had Rico's food truck at some local events in Bend including Summerfest and it's always been tasty and had a good amount of meat which sometimes can be skimpy at locations. I like that it's not overpowering with sauce and still tastes great. Lots of comments on attitude but staffs always been super friendly to me. I read the reviews by fellow Yelpers. Some of their points are valid (high prices) some are not ( rude and not attentive). I tried the Rico Burrito for $17. You get your choice of meat ( I went with the shredded pork), lettuce, tomato, onions, guacamole, and sour cream. It was one of the largest Burritos I've ever eaten. It was very good. My experience was good enough for me to come back and try some other dishes. read more

Worst customer service ever. Said they're open but everything was premade . But then they said I could order burrito so I ordered a Asada burrito with just steak cheese and pico de gallo. Food was alright not that great. Burrito and meat are pretty dry, tortillas not fresh and to top it off the service is terrible, not friendly at all, you can't even ask for extra sauce "salsa" without an attitude as if they're losing money as their food are overpriced. Hands down the lowest quality "Mexican food " in the area. Bland and boring. But it's also pretty expensive ! The carts surrounding it are all high quality. Why this cart is included at this location is a mystery. read more

We stopped for lunch at The Lot while visiting friends in Bend. The Lot is a congregation of food trucks (much like "Off the Grid" and "The Bend" food truck groups in the SF Bay Area, but these are permanently here). I (of course) had to try the tacos from Rico's Tacos truck. I ordered one chicken and one carnitas ($2 each). They didn't take long to make and before I knew it my teeth were biting into soft shells and tasty filling. The meat was tender and the carnitas had great flavor and was cooked crispy. Chicken was perfectly cooked also, and a salsa verde topped both small shells. I tried a couple bites from friend's plates/other trucks and would love to go back and try all the trucks here. I did notice that these tacos were some of the only small plate options - you could order one taco or ten. Many of the other trucks seemed like they had only big dishes (around $10 each), so that's a great feature of this truck. It was also very fast. Beer is sold by The Lot, but Rico's sells sodas for the under-21. There is lots of seating available, and much of it has a shady covering. It was really neat to get to check out this place in Bend (everything about Bend is amazing) and it was great to find good tacos while up in Oregon. read more

I knew not to expect too much this far north but I think it's reasonable to expect a little more than rice, beans, and meat. It turned out a little cilantro and onions were buried in the middle of the burrito, but for $8 for a "chicken burrito with everything" I expect the chicken to have more flavor. Pros: size was great - pretty big! Salsa was tasty. I liked the verde more than the rojo Cons: Pricey -$8 for chicken without many extras and $5 for just beans and cheese Not very flavorful in my opinion In sum, I would like them to flavor the meat a little bit more; let it marinate in some spices. First visit: Ordered the $5 chips and salsa to go with beers from The Bite. Very few chips so asked for a few more. In return they asked for $1. These are low-quality chips out of a humongous warehouse bag. Really? Second visit: Ordered a burrito with guacamole and crema. Paid for the guacamole and crema additions for a total of $12. I know, food prices are up, and I wouldn't mind the cost if it was an outstanding burrito, but you can guess where this is going. Burrito came with neither crema, nor guacamole. Chile Verde burrito was forgettable! Not a lot of flavor for $12. Im sorry but not even the rice and beans were good.

I tried this taco truck at The Bite of Tumalo and wish I hadn't. Some of the worst-tasting and most overpriced tacos I have ever eaten. I ordered a $10 plate of vegan tacos and was charged $2 extra because, they told me: "vegetables cost more than meat and cheese"!? I got 4 small tacos with refried beans and rice, a few pieces of iceberg lettuce, a few cubes of tasteless tomato, NO cilantro or onions, and the highlight of the whole thing, about a half of an avocado spread over 4 tacos. Salsa tasted like it came straight out of a can. Service was indifferent and unfriendly, which is rare for taco carts in my experience. read more

Now I see why they have two stars, rude service, don't want cilantro or raw onions and they had a hard time with that and the beans were luke warm, the beans taste like they come out of can and the chicken tastes like it comes Out of the can from Costco as well. This is for the Tumalo location. Prices are ridiculous and service poor. The nachos are gas station type but $5 for the small dish and the cheese sauce was cold. I had to ask for the jalapeños that were supposed to come with it and the lady rolled her eyes at me. $9 for a burrito that was mostly rice and a microwaved tortilla is crazy. Should have read the other reviews first, but two of the four food trucks were closed here due to broken pipes so not much for options. read more

Went to this place with our lacrosse team after a tournament. Long wait and by the time we got up there to order they were running out of things. Came home to an alert on my email from the card I purchased with asking if "I left a 44% tip" meaning a $8.00 tip on a $18.00 order! Hello no I didn't! This review is for the Tumalo location. It's supposed to be first come first served at this food truck. After seeing a couple of parties that ordered after me get their food I asked and the lady said that tamales take longer than the other food. After waiting for 30 minutes and my husband was done eating his lunch, I finally got my nasty $12 tamale plate. The corn dough was very thick and I assumed that I was getting chunks of chicken in it but there was just a tiny amount of bland shredded chicken. The small amount of rice and beans were cold and the cut up lettuce and tomato salad had no salad dressing. I'm mad at myself that I didn't simply go insist on my $$ back.
