We were just getting into Bend after being on the go all day and we were hungry and tired. We arrived a few minutes before closing (I thought I had seen they were open until 8:30) but the staff was super friendly and accommodating and got our food together for us as carry out and we ate on the patio next to the building. The portions were great and the food was solid. They had a great unique salsa as well. read more

The food is still pretty good. Sheltered outdoor patio seating is nice (only limited indoor seating). But YIKES, $4 for a medium (20 oz?) fountain Coke, AND an extra $1 EACH time you want a refill! I'll probably still buy food here, but no more sodas for me (probably healthier, anyway). If you pay with credit card, expect to pay 4% more than the price on menu board. read more

This was an average Mexican place. The tacos are small street size and the price does not reflect that. The menu showed $4.25 for each taco and he rang them up for $4.45 each. $4.45 for one taco is a bit much for fast food Mexican. The Al pastor lacked pineapple and I had to put salsa on the tacos to make them better. My child really liked his burrito though and I would return to try their taco salads. They have lots of bowl options that can meet most dietary needs. I gave them 3 stars for having a very flexible menu and lots of options for those who don't eat the regular American diet. They also have a nice outdoor eating space that you wouldn't really notice from the road. read more

Small shop with great expectations. It was clean. The gal who took our order was very nice and accommodating. The best part, of course, was the food. Large portions. Sisters had burritos and loved them. I had chicken nachos that were by far the best I've had in a long time, if not ever. You can taste and see the freshness. This softened the pricing a lot. Do not order here if you're vegetarian. This place had good reviews on Happy Cow so decided to try. I ordered a veggie burrito and a cheese enchilada. I found chicken pieces in both dishes. Unfortunately I'd had a few bites of both before noticing and thought they were extremely bland (like beans straight from a can with no seasoning). The enchiladas looked like they'd just been microwaved and the cheese inside was still uncooked. I do not recommend. read more

Very tasty; great flavor; salsa great. Only complaint is the tacos at crammed other to where you can't see an initial taco. They use the tiny tortillas and cram them full of ingredients. More that one taco, have to order a fork. If I could see the individual taco, it would be great. This is more like a taco salad. Ok;additional now that I'm finished. Dinky tortillas; fall apart; can't eat with hands, just a jumbled pile of ingredients with weak little tortillas that you can't pick up. NEED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MANAGER/ OWNER I had my mom pick up the order (3 large burritos) and they charged her an extra $6.50 for ten 1 oz green sauces on the side. I've never had to pay for sauce on the side and I understand if this is a new practice, but $6.50 for a small amount of sauce is insane. I even called to ask about the manager to speak about this situation, and was told to call at 2 pm today 03/25/2024. I called back at 2:15 and the employee first told me the manager won't be coming in until later and the next call the manager is all of a sudden actually on vacation and wont' be here until next week. I was promptly hung up on 3 times after trying to get a simple answer about speaking to the manager. read more

I ordered two bean, rice and cheese burritos and a chili relleno burrito. Worse burritos we have ever eaten! My daughter took a bite and got a mouthful of pico de gallo, she would not eat the burrito after the first bite. My wife's burrito was mostly lettuce, and mine was just awful. I would think the burritos would be better at a Mexican restaurant, probably Taco Bell would have been a better choice read more

We just had our meal there. I had José's Nachos. So GOOD! I will be eating it for dinner tonight there was so much. Husband ordered the #2 with chicken or the enchilada. He gave me a bite of both his enchilada and chili relleno. Oh my, some of the best we have had. We highly recommend this place. read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past but I was starving so I pop in. This place is the definition of a hole in the wall little Mexican food joint. But then you walk in, sights and sounds and smells lineup and the perfect storm of marinated pork real refried beans tacos enchiladas specials or Chata and one of the best house margaritas money can buy. The staff is classic and amazing as they are charming helpful and fast. All of this is overshadowed however, by your first bite of your favorite dish from Mexico. to begin, the food is absolutely delicious! im sorry but 10$ for a good quality burrito is impossible to find except here. especially in bend. the service is amazing too, very friendly everytime we come. super inviting and willing to explain any questions asked. and lastly everything is done in a time manner, we are never waiting for our food. they gave us extra churros the last time we bought there food. just always a good experience and love their food!! read more

I ordered the chilaquiles. Flavor was good size was good but they didn't ask me how I want my eggs and it came out with small egg pieces all under the cheese. Would highly recommend you say how you want your eggs don't wait for them to ask. read more

The restaurant itself may be tiny, but the flavors in the food are big and bold. One bite of the enchiladas and you'll see why Mr. Morales, who is a very nice guy, has such a loyal following for his business. Menu items include standards like burritos and chicken or beef tacos as well as some veggie options, including chile relleno. But maybe the best of things is the homemade sauces and salsas. Some of which Los Jalapenos has just started to sell retail through local grocery markets, like Newport Avenue Market where they were doing free samples today of their chicken or cheese enchilada with their salsa verde and pico de gallo. They also had red salsa with chips for dipping. It was that tasting event that led me to post this review. Because even if you don't want to go to Los Jalapenos to stand in line, you can now buy their freshly made and zippy for heat seasonings salsas and pico de gallo at Newport Avenue Market and maybe other local retailers. Look for the nice sized containers with the Los Jalapenos label on them in the refrigerated case. Then buy some. Your tastebuds with thank you! read more

I've been getting their burritos for over a decade now, it' the most amazing burrito you'll ever have in your life. I don't recommend going during lunch hour during the week, all the BHS students flock to this place and you don't want to deal with that while consuming your amazing food. read more

Best value in Bend. Always consistently good. Would give five starts except they often run out of things. I would love it if they started offering gluten free tortillas. Tacos salads are amazing. Horchata also very good. Margaritas are a great addition. read more

She was a huge fan! I brought her back two more times before she went home which was definitely not in my bingo card for her visit. Lucy's is unassuming. It's not some fine dining restaurant. There's a counter where you order your food and they call out your order when it's ready. What you can't see from the street is the salsa bar. Holy smokes it's fresh and delicious. They have all the condiments you'd expect from traditional Mexican street foods and hot chips just sitting there. The fish tacos my mom had? They were delicious! I ordered her two thinking they were tiny. No, they were huge so I had to eat one for her. Poor me! I've had the asada on multiple occasions and it's delicious every time. For the money, the portions are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. From what I can tell, there's usually only one person manning the grill and she pumps out food so hot and delicious all the time. They even serve menduo (Mexican hangover stew) which a lot of places in LA only do on weekends. I can't say good enough things about Lucy's. It's what I think of when anyone ask about authentic Mexican cuisine in Bend.

The tacos were big and absolutely stuffed with meat. 2 would be plenty for lunch, especially if you're eating chips and salsa, and honestly, who isn't? The achiote chicken comes as a crunchy taco. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned (my fav of the three). The asada was decent, but def not my fav in town. The carnitas was a bit of a letdown unfortunately. It was hard fried to the point where almost every piece was crunchy. I like bits of crispy pork, but also like tender, juicy bits. The carnitas was also pretty salty, almost to the level of jerky. Overall, the food and service were pretty good but didn't leave me wanting to rush back.
