Not only did he explain the history behind the places we stopped by, he showed us the beauty of San Francisco. The food was great and I was stuffed by the end of the tour. From what I recall, we sampled sesame balls, dim sum, roasted duck and sautéed green beans, fortune cookies, lots of tea from a local tea shop, Italian sandwiches, cannolis, gelato, and pizza. I forgot to take pics of the food but I'll have to say my favorite was the salami sandwich from Molinari.

She checked in with the group often to ensure we could hear and understand her and provided clear directions to the next stop on the tour. The tour was really interesting and a pretty flat 2-mile walk, given the slope of some of the hills in SF. There were noteable stops along the way like the SF's first saloon and "the living room" of Chinatown. These tours are pay-what-you-want at the end. We didn't have cash and the website said they'd accept card; we ended up paying Vicky via PayPal.

Tidbits, such as the existence of a watering hole in the 19th century called the Fierce Grizzly (so named because it had a grizzly chained next to the door) and how today's Chinatown architecture came about after the 1906 earthquake, made our walk memorable and our time with Britt go by fast. The only (slight) disappointment came when we stopped by Caffe Trieste but didn't have time to enjoy their delicious espresso even though a coffee stop was mentioned in the tour description. We visited 3 winery's, 2 that we wanted to go to, the other she recommended. I would recommend going with her recommendations since it was my favorite winery's of the day. She picked us up on time (8am, she was there early) from our hotel and we headed out the the Muir Woods. The woods are so magical with the amazing redwood trees that were HUGE. After the woods we headed to our first winery. Stagsly vineyards is a bigger winery with some great Cabernets. Their tasting room was beautiful and overlooked the massive vineyards. Next we went for lunch at Gotts. This place had some seriously delicious burgers and tacos. Everyone in my family got burgers and I got shrimp tacos that were very fresh and tasty. Their special Mexican street corn was also one of our favorites. After we went to Ambers winery recommendation that was soldero. This was a smaller boutique type vineyard. We started our tasting with a tour of the property and their new rose that will be launching in July. The rose was our favorite. We were also able to go down on the vineyard and see the plants which I thought was very cool. The staff was friendly and sat chatting with us down in their tasting room. Finally we stopped by Cuvason which had such a classy atmosphere. Beautiful indoor and outdoor tasting. They started us off with a complimentary rose champagne. After we tasted a savigon Blanc, another rose, and 2 Cabernets. Again would recommend the rose, however I still think the new one from our second stop was best. I love wine and always look forward to learning more about the varieties, I was really excited to try some of wine country's best, all while avoiding a drive into the valley. Upon arrival, the doorman directed me to Bin415; which was just a short walk through the hotel lobby. The ambiance was luxe, set in a most beautifully decorated lounge: this felt so ideal for the special occasion, the vibes were amazing. Our host and Sommelier, Kelly was super knowledgeable on the wines, sharing the rich history on each bottle as he poured and we tasted. The selection of wines was delicious, super "safe" and palatable- nothing was overwhelming, or too "young" and we really enjoyed the Cabernet above all. We wanted to purchase the Cab, but they had unfortunately ran out. Kelly was nice enough to offer his open bottle, however we insisted on coming back after a restock. This is a place you must try if you'd like to learn more about wine, don't feel like going all the way to wine country for a tasting, or if you're simply looking for a tasteful night out to enjoy fine wines.

It really felt like we were getting an insider's view of the area. And of course, the selection of food we had was diverse and amazing too (all of it).
