The address on the website is 2530 Kekaa dr is but the confirmation email stated 30 halawai drive W2. Once we figured that out, the owner answered after multiple calls and texts to let us know not to book same day. Seems to be a scam. Not sure where all the positive reviews are from. Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience on these bikes. Nate called the day before and asked if we could pick the bikes up on our own without anyone there. Sure, no problem. He sent us info and a video of the map and what to expect. We followed the map and directions he provided in the video. We didn't realize we'd be riding alongside cars on the highway. There are no actual bike paths. When trying to get to the places he told us to go, we had to go through areas that said restricted or had gates that were locked. Then when we'd get to the places there were never any places to park the bikes since they aren't allowed on the sidewalks. It was a mess. We tried calling him to get help and he never answered or called us back. We ended up returning them about an hour later even though we had a full day rental. Would not recommend this for someone trying to have a relaxing day. It just stressed us out a lot. read more

The electric bike revolution has went on around me as I pedal my hybrid fitness bike around town I started noticing people whistling by me with e bikes. After running into Lee the owner. I decided to stop by the shop on my day off. Calling it s bike shop is too narrow of a definition it's more of an electric bike center with rentals, sales, and short term rentals available at the location. Its a great way to immerse yourself in electric bike culture. Lee was busy with his bike advocacy work so he turned me over to his shop manager Nathan. I was able to test ride three different types of electric bikes and by the end of that experience I understand why they're e-bikes are catching on so quickly. The Center's west side location gives you good access to bike routes to explore right from the shop. The technology has definitely evolved since the last time I rode and e-bike. All the bikes look clean and well-maintained and all three bikes I rode perform perfectly. I rode one bike that was had thick tires and reminded me some what of a pick up truck I noticed that one used a little bit more power than the others but I think they would have adequate range for an afternoon biking on the west side of Maui and seeing the sights. What can I say the top of the line e-bike with the crank based assist motor seem to work the best for me that's also the more expensive option for purchase. Definitely worth checking out if you're thinking of going the E bike route. read more

Great eBike ride down to Front Street and Whaler's Village from the rental location - children need to be 15 yrs plus to ride their own electric bike. They have family bikes where younger children can ride behind an adult. The two person family bike reached 20mph - the single rider bikers a bit faster. Beautiful paved path along the coast for most of the route South. We did have to go along the busy highway for a portion of it, so if that makes you nervous then skip trying to get to front street. Great service and instructions from the staff here. A fun way to spend a couple hours with the family! read more

Sorry I have to even leave one star but it's required. Nate at ride smart is a total butt head. We booked a tour for our vacation in Maui. When we showed up for our reservation we found the office location as sent in our confirmation email, closed, empty and under construction. As we were there on time it was obvious the business was no longer there, I called the phone number in my email reservation. Nate was both very rude and a jerk. He said I should have known the new address but admitted he had just moved. Maybe he should have notified me. Since we didn't have a rental car and had booked there because it was across the street from our hotel it made sense. When we showed up and the place was vacant, I called and he informed me they moved a few days ago to a new location three miles away. As we did not have a vehicle and we were at the start time of our rental there was no way we could get there. Nate's response was 'to bad-no refunds'. Best part of our trip! So glad I found this place because they have so many varieties of ebikes. They were able to accommodate our group of 10 and had family bikes and smaller bikes for our teens. Other places we called didn't have enough or didn't have any options for kids. We would have had to leave a few of our group behind. But with Ridesmart and their family bike we took a 6 year old along and the teens had comfortable and safe bikes. Great family fun! We rode the trail they recommended and stopped for some swimming and lunch too. Staff was super nice and helpful. Sam even called later in the evening to follow up with us. Wow! What an incredible experience. I went on a self-guided Kaanapali Coffee Farm tour the first day and loved it so much that I came back again the following day to ride south past Lahaina. The Operator/Attendant was a no show. I booked a 2hour session for my family of 3 on 5/25 at 10:30am and no one was at the location at 2530 Kekaa Dr. Lahaina. We waited 15min, called 3 times and texted twice - no response. Pictures attached to prove we were there. My daughter has Autism and LOVES to ride bikes - she was upset all day because she was so excited to ride an eBike. Shame on RideSmart!! You cannot count on them. I'm trying to get a refund, but the mailbox is full in the business phone, so I can't even leave a message. No response to my texts. Booked a day with my father and brothers in law. 7 in total. Called ahead 2 days before to verify the details. Showed up and he only had 6 bikes. So my father in law decided to follow behind us in the car. Then 4 of the 6 bikes had serious issues. One wouldn't shift gears. One had the brakes go out completely. One died because the battery overheated halfway through the day. And one had the rear brake fail (spinning brake rotor). Nate Graham did not show up for us to return the bikes, he just told us to lock them up together. That was the last we have heard from him after asking for a partial refund on the bikes we couldn't really use. Poorly run business and rude staff! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE First off, the application they use for maps is horrible. The routes take you through parking lots and you need to jump gates. On the way back, most of the route is on the highway which is not very safe. Second, make sure you purchase the $10 rescue package if you decide to go through with this nightmarish experience . If you pop a tire, which apparently is "very common with these bikes", ugly will pay an outrageous $60 rescue penalty. I'm not sure how they settled on $60 but I think that's outrageous! I hadn't ridden an e-bike and was visiting Lahaina. Really enjoyed my half-day rental of a hybrid road bike. Ed helped me customize the bike and to learn how to ride an electric bike. He provided suggestions for my ride route which made it more enjoyable. And he answered my call when I was out on my ride. It was a really fun day. Our family of 7 rented bikes for 4 hours. We came to test drive the bikes a few days prior to our rental. Clint was great on fitting us on bikes and giving us instructions on how to use the bikes, gears, app, etc. It was also great working with Saman when we had to reschedule our reservations because of the weather conditions. The day of our ride we dealt with Lee. Lee was rude and had a negative attitude when assisting us with our bicycles. When we requested a couple bicycle changes or had questions, he seem like he was bothered and we were asking too much of him. I didn't realize he was the owner until after we rode. I was going to rent a bike to tour this side of the Island and at first was unsure of an electric bike in fact I had never ever heard of one. But Lee let me try one of the Fat Bikes for a few hours and he even took me on a personal Trip into Lahaina. I quickly realized how out of shape I was and that I was happy to have the Electric bike there to assist me when I needed it. We went along the Sugar Cane Train Trail and even stopped in at a local brewery for a quick pint. Price for the rental was reasonable and after we got back I chatted with him for a bit and could tell he is totally passionate in what he does. After we were done chatting I even bought one of the Juiced he had for sale as I truly believe this is the best way to tour Maui and its totally healthy reduces the carbon footprint on the earth and reduces pollution. read more

Service was helpful and friendly, the bikes we got were ok, definitely not what you see in the pictures when reserving, these were very "well seasoned" bikes and even staying in the lowest e-setting we pretty much drained the batteries after a few hours.
