On February 14, I felt sharp pain in my tooth. My doctor told me that I need an endodontist for my root canal. I called EmblemHealth and was given a few names in Brooklyn. I called Dr. Angelina Zavulunova office and asked if they accepted 1199 EmblemHealth insurance. They said OK and gave me my first appointment.During my first visit, I was asked to pay $330 as a cover fee. I paid by VISA. Upon receiving explanation benefits for both visits, I saw that insurance covered my visits and no reason for me to pay $330 by credit card. When I called the office, Dr. Zavulunova screaming on the phone told me that a second treatment was performed by out of network doctor and she told me that during my visit. But this is clearly not true, because I would go to another office if I knew about such case... To put it simply, Dr. Angelina Zavulunova is a Fraud and Thief. read more

Right when you walk in, you feel so comfortable! The bathroom is beautiful, modern and clean and I loved the paper towels and automatic soap dispenser which are crucial during this COVID time. The dental hygienist and x ray techs were so personable and knowledgeable and I have to say, I had the most thorough cleaning of MY LIFE! I went for a routine check up and absolutely adored the doctor. Right away we discussed our personal stories, where we lived, children etc and I appreciated that greatly-especially when most dentists are 'run of the mill' these days. This place is terrible. I was a patient for years. One day, the dentist was angry and took it out on me. When I stated how poorly I was treated, I was told, " You're mad because you're not getting drugs!" As a recovering alcoholic this is very offensive. I was hesitant bc her office is 45 minutes from my home but when you receive such a good referral for a dentist you go with it. I was warmly greeted by 2 front desk receptionists, given some paperwork because I was a new patient and seen rather quickly. Angela and her team first and foremost are the best around every time I go in either a root canal wisdom tooth pulled cleaning etc it's done fast and professional, I just had my tooth pulled 3rd molar and I have to say people say it hurts after the anesthesia wears off , but was not the case only for a few hours through the night, this is the next day and I feel great I can open my mouth move very little pain at all , that's how I know she is a boss ! This doctor seems friendly at first but can turn vicious and treats patients as lf they are her serventile employees. Any persistent question or, God forbid, you re-enter as soon as you exited the inside door. She berates you in front of other employees and patients even if others who work for her verbally gave me assurances about estimates of ordering an implant tooth which was the point of confusion and was why I did it in the first place, and because her receptioninist tells me to tha they will call me when the implant is ready without any further estimate of any time frame. Just simply 'go home and we will call you. But don't call us.' that simply does not fly with me. She is of very thin skin and illogical in many cases and explanations. She also promised up and down that she needs to cut away some of my gums to shorten the gumline and that it will all grow back. But none of it grew back. So she used that to try and get me to come back and re-cap adjacent teeth the root of which are now too exposed and that were capped by a different dentist just to create work. Also, almost every time I went there I saw different staff. Frequent turn around caused by the way she treats people. I have seen this before where owning a business with staff goes to one's head and they start treating people as indentured servents! Forget about this dentist and save yourself from mistakes that she makes that have no remedy. read more

There'a a couple of pretty bad reviews on here, but from my experience here I definitely have to disagree. I've been coming here since last June, I've had a cleaning done and an implant procedure. Dr. Angela was very patient and has great bedside manners. She remembers her patients and explains everything as she is working on you. I called one day because something felt weird in my gums with the implant in place and they told me to come in the same day just to make sure everything was okay. I've never had bad service here, I'm always seen at my appointment time, even earlier often when I go in earlier. It's a dentist office I can understand why appointments can run late depending on what is being done with the patients before me. Dr. Angela was highly recommended to me. I needed entailed extractions and a denture. Without writing a long story, the day I arrived for the procedure it was not done. She was clearly overwhelmed with too many patients which I imagine the staff didn't book properly. I was nervous because I waited 1 hour and 5 minutes to see her and probably was thinking too much. I have had a bad experience with a former dentist which also contributed to my anxiety. I mentioned that I couldn't tolerate the Novacaine that has a stimulant in it which keeps the anesthetic working longer. But if I take a low-dose tranquilizer I can tolerate it. I didn't take it because I was told by the desk that my "denture arrived" and thought that was why I was going there that day. Dr. Angela first said I should go to a clinic, left the room, cooled off and then came back to proceed, but by then I was scared and more anxious. Frankly, I don't know of one person who doesn't get a tad nervous going to a dentist, let alone a new one. I won't trash the woman because she was clearly overwhelmed. The office is modern and clean. Disrespectful. I've been waiting a month to finally complete my RCT from here. Now i can finally post this review. I asked the office before posting this and said I paid all my dues and owe them nothing. So now im free from them. I first went to the clinic a year ago due to severe pain on my molar which ended up needing a RCT. I came back 2 months ago because my tooth chipped. I honestly thought I would just need a filling since I had NO TOOTH PAIN. But the dentist said I needed a RCT, no explanation given as to why. I was stupid also and agreed. I SHOULD'NT HAVE. First session for the RCT went fine although I know my nerve got hit during injection since I felt stinging pain along my jaw. She noticed it since I flinched more than normal and stated what I felt was normal. I know it was not. Anyways, all went well and I left. A few weeks after, I went to have my 2nd session for the RCT. I asked the dentist a question as to if drinking cold drinks could be a reason why my teeth are not strong. AND I SWEAR TO GOD, The dentist just stared blankly and didn't give me an answer. I was apalled and knew this was going to be a long day. I also expressed that I had pain on another tooth and asked if I needed a filling. Without even checking, she already said what's up with your canals. The dentist kept repeating over and over again with a loud voice, "You and your nasty canals." Then i knew it was all business. SMH During that second session as well, she was working on me very rudely and at the end, I felt like I had a shower on my face due to all the water from the dental work spilling on my face. No care was taken to prevent or even lessen it from happening. I wanted to stop going to her already from then on but decided against it since they were going to do my crown. Now, an hour since coming from the dentist I can finally say I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. The dentist is very UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE AND IMPATIENT. As she was putting the crown, she asked me to bite and apparently I was not doing it properly. I told her I don't know how she means by it but she just kept SCREAMING AT ME. Telling me that if I don't know how to bite then she can't help me. DOC, EXPLAIN TO YOUR PATIENT NICELY WHAT AND HOW IT IS TO BE DONE. There is a reason why you are the dentist and Im a patient. GIVE INSTRUCTIONS. I am also a healthcare professional and I will never treat my patient the way she treated me. NEVER AGAIN. A few feet after I stepped out of her dental clinic, I HONESTLY CRIED because I NEVER FELT THAT HUMILIATED AND DISRESPECTED IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Also, wait times are CRAZY. You have to wait MORE THAN 30 MINUTES! Every time I go there, I always have to wait 30mins or more. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT ONE. read more

I never write reviews but I had such a great experience with Dr. Angela and her team, so I wanted to share it. I've genuinely never had a dentist that cared so much about her patients! Dr. Angela went above and beyond to make things work for me. I needed to get a root canal but my work schedule conflicted with the endodontist's availability. So one day, she calls me out of the blue and figures out a way to accommodate my work schedule. I've never had a dentist put effort into making sure that I get my dental work done. The office and her team are professional and have a relaxed atmosphere, I'm constantly joking around with them. I had such a good experience with my root canal that I switched dentists, and I'm now having her office do the post and crown. Dr. Angela and her team are amazing. I started seeing her in 2013 (i lived up the block from the office) she's extremely friendly great bedside manor and might I add super stylish. Fast forward to today 2017, I'm now married with a baby and i moved to staten island. It was hard to find the time to go to a dentist let alone find a new one. So I commuted to see her and I'm so glad i did. Not only did she remember me she remembered my husband and what we both did for a living. I even recieved a complimentary whitening kit. She is an example of a malpractice dentist. So rude person and unreliable. All of these reviews are fake. It was a terrible experience visiting this place. Angela is the worst doctor in the world. She has no ethics at all. I do not know how she became a doctor. It's all about making money. Once you go there you will start your journey with teeth major problems, because she will cause the problems to get paid. In my case, she convinced me to do filling in a molar tooth and damaged it. I was suffering for months from pain. every time I told her I have pain, she screamed on my face telling me the insurance does not cover root canal, which was not cover by my insurance to pay her from my pocket. I could not eat on my right side for months. Then, I went to another dentist who told me that the nerve was dead and infected, and I need a root canal and crown which cost $1800. She used all the routine visits including Emergency visit. She supposedly not charge the insurance for visiting her to finish her damn job. When I went to another dentist I had to pay $50 from my pocket to cover the visit. When you go to your appointment you have to wait for more that an hour. She's rude many times I went there for my appointment and she got busy and didn't want to see me, because she's overpocked. It's not my problem!!!
