Ridge is an independent family-run business. Very professional and knowledgeable staff who take ownership and provide solutions. Microwave/wireless technology and communications is the technology of choice moving forward and with it one would benefit of all the progress made as the application space and needs grow exponentially. We had a relatively involved installation - primarily because of location. Verizon (now Frontier) was/is the only "wired" alternative at our location. As noted by many Frontier's service and network stability is at best spotty and very unstable and more times than not nonexistent. Comcast "offered" a $15k solution to bring their fiber-optic services located 300ft from our house. With a very affordable installation fee we are currently getting superior, fast and stable service and connection with Ridge and in turn supporting a local and very deserving business. read more

I had reached out to Ridge Wireless due to being unhappy with our current home WiFi and seeking to potentially have them come out to install their equipment. Mike emailed me back within minutes (this was a Saturday evening!) and asked some additional questions to find out what the problems were. After describing my situation, he advised that essentially our system just needed some tweaking and they he didn't think that their equipment was what I needed! He even went so far as to email me a link to the item that he thought I needed to buy, said that the set up was simple, but to let him know if I ran into any problems. I was absolutely amazed -- an honest businessman who turned away a potential customer with instead a suggestion of what I could do to fix the problem myself! Amazing service with Mike going the extra mile to help. We are purchasing a house the Los Gatos part of the Santa Cruz mountains that only had 2mbs speeds DSL speeds from Frontier. We researched other options and read the reviews on Yelp of Ridge. They seemed too good to be true. In fact they reflect the quality of service you get from Ridge and Mike in particular. He came out to our prospective property twice. The second time because I asked for more detailed info about attainable speeds. We exchanged emails Friday night and despite it being a wet and windy weekend Mike went out to the property and set up his kit and took photos and sent us readings to assure us of the speeds available. Even in bad weather and a really remote location Ridge could get 17 mbs download and 10 mbs upload. We can now be assured in making an offer on the home that we will get internet coverage to enable home working. Superb customer service every time we make contact. read more

Seriously, if I could leave 10 stars I would! I live in the mountains about 5 minutes from Los Gatos. I love our home and where we live. The one challenge we have always had was an ISP. I would have settled for an average provider, but all we ever seemed to get was bad service, real bad. I had Verizon then Frontier, HughesNet (Crooks, they will not throttle your connection when you reach your limit until you pass the refund period). I even had other wireless. They would start ok but the service would get worse. Mike at Ridge Wireless is extremely responsive. I work at home often, at all hours. If I email Mike, I get a response, always! He resolves any issues fast! I could not be happier with the service, I always have great speed and very little latency. As good as internet gets, and I should know, because I need it to support my family. My job title is Enterprise IPTV Network Architect - so believe me when I tell you I have an educated opinion. I've been a Ridge Wireless customer for a year now, and have absolutely, never complained. I endured Comcast while I lived in San Carlos, Verizon in Los Gatos...and now, having bought a home and setting up shop I've had the opportunity to shop Internet Providers. I searched for over a year and finally found the absolute best, without question. Moreover, the support is amazing, and the people are just good people - the folks we want to succeed in Los Gatos - as opposed to Comcast, or Verizon/AT&T, the latter of which we have no idea what the plan is given the AT&T merger with DirecTV; the odd acquisition by AT&T then and quick punt to Frontier. It's a shell game right now, and I certainly don't want to be a part of it. Also, please note that the major providers offer 7-zillion Mbps download, but many times a mere 512 Kb upload - that's the reason your Skype, Facetime, etc. doesn't work the way you expect or desire. The upload speed is how fast your own personal (not the remote party) video is delivered. Happily, It gets gorgeous on Ridge, because they provide symmetrical download and upload. You can download at 10Mbps, and upload at 10Mbps. Other plans are available, but this one fit our family, including my need to *upload* huge media files for work cost effectively. Anyways, if you are close to coming to contract end with any other provider, or can't find a good one - please call Ridge Wireless or hit them at www.ridgewireless.net. They're the real deal. Mike is on it. The service is great, works as advertised or better. We had torrential rains this year and it knocked out PG&E Electricity more than once, as well as the phone lines. The internet was back up at the same time or before Power. Where it took Verizon a month to get the phone lines back up. Also, so much faster than DSL. Any time there was any issue, live in the mountains, there are issues. Mike troubleshot it same day, most times same hour. Cant ask for more. read more

Mike saved us from dial-up with a service that is better than my previous Comcast service. The customer service is amazing (again especially compared to Comcast). We are consistently getting 25 Mbps up and down on the 5mps plan - often more (for the 5mbps plan you pay for the average usage). Works great for video calls especially - people keep telling me how clear the picture is. Also you won't be hit by the anti net neutrality practices that are sure to be coming soon from the big players. read more

After having problems with internet service providers, I started to search for a new reliable provider. Yelp came to the rescue when I found Ridge Wireless. Mike Lyon is very customer service oriented. He came to our home on time (NO 4-hour window...it was a miracle) and quickly sized up whether he could provide service to us. We were pleased that our location would work and set up another appointment for the installation. He arrived on-time for the installation and quickly set up everything needed. We live in an area that is not served by Comcast or U-Verse. We have had AT&T DSL for years and have never reliably gotten the bandwidth that they promised. Two neighbors have Ridge Wireless and recommended them. What a difference! For their least expensive plan we have reliable Internet for the first time (it even survived last week's storm with only a 4 minute outage compared to overnight for the DSL, and that was PG&E's outage, not Ridge's), and a guaranteed minimum with equal download and upload. No more having to schedule TV and gaming away from the regular evening slowdown. No more having to forget any Internet during heavy rains. This team has saved us from Frontier. I am an engineer who builds very related outdoor WLAN products. These guys are awesome. Super clean and elegant installation. It's hard to minimize the visual impact of a family pizza size dish on your home but they did it well. Very clean cabling as well. I felt our home was in the best possible hands for this installation. The installation team was expert in their product and their craft. The president Mike responded personally to our queries. Our bandwidth is not rate limited and is 100 times faster than with Frontier (they appeared to be intermittently rate limiting our netflix to 100K or so, non-functional). Our Netfilx is now awesome, Playstation is excellent, web pages load a snap. Support a small/local business, you'll be super pleased with the results and service. read more
