This company is sneaky bottom line. We were in escrow for a property that didn't appraise and had to pull out. Mind you this was early in the process, and I was sent a docusign in order to get our deposit back. No one ever disclosed that we would be charged a $350 cancellation fee. I blindly signed the document trusting that my full deposit would be returned to me only to find out after the fact. This escrow company was picked by the seller, I was a buyer. And they made our lives so difficult. They sent our opening package to the wrong address -- twice! We called and told them the correct address multiple times, but our agent had to go out and pick up our package and deliver it to us, and then I had to drive to bring it back to them. Then, they tried to charge us for the courier fees for the failed deliveries. We were able to close escrow a day early, and other than the delivery failures everything was fine so I am giving them back one star (though we made sure they were never involved in sending anything or anyone to us again -- we preemptively drove out there for everything). read more

I'm a mortgage loan officer and I have worked with many escrow companies before. I have to say that Ridgegate Escrow is by far the best I have worked with. My interaction had to do a lot with their escrow officer, Courtney Black. Throughout the transaction, Courtney was always quick with her responses. She was always available whenever I called! Not only was she assessible, she was very thorough with her emails and worked in a way that would quickly closed the transaction. We had a couple hiccups during the transaction, but since I was able to easily reach Courtney, we were able to easily overcome it. All in all, it was a pleasure working with Ridgegate Escrow. I was schedule to sign docs in prep for escrow closing. My loan officer suggested to arranged for mobile notary. Ridgegate. Stated they want to use their own mobile notary. I was busy reading 100+ pages doc that they sign the day before the suppose to be signing date- a saturday. Note: all docs should be sent 72 h before signing to give signers time to review. I was waiting for an email confirming the time and place but i lost tract of time trying to read what i have to sign the following day. Saturday came. No email to text no call! No mobile notary was arranged! No signing! And nobody answers call at this company during weekends. My 30 day notice is coming to an end soon. I already arranged to have a day off so thats the day after "signing" the docs the final walkthrough can be done. Now i dont know how can it be done because mobile notary was not arranged by ridgegate who insisted on arranging it using their own mobile notary. All of you out there if you ate buying a property and the seller want ti use ridgegate walk away for your own sake! Unless u just sit around at home waiting to read and response to all email they send you. They do not follow up with any phone call not even a follow up email. They sent an email we ( my agent and lender), just to find out they sent it to the weong email and blame other people for "giving them the wrong email. All email address they need are in the document! Duh!!! So if you are a very busy person like me. Run away fast from this company. You could risk loosing your deposit with this company. Had i have any choice i would choose other escrow company . Who are efficient and understood that people are busy thats why we need from efficient and reliable people. This escrow company was chosen by the seller, I was the buyer. Let's me say, these guys are terrible, but pretend to know what they are doing. They definitely lack necessary competence, and if I wasn't checking every single line item and every word, it would have been a disaster. There were ton of mistakes made along the way that I caught and had to bring to their attention, from not being able to spell things out to correctly to completely omitting items from the closing statement. The lender was even baffled by how bad these guys at their job. Early on in the process, I called them, and asked to speak to my escrow officer, she picked up the phone saying "What is it?" Hahaha, needless to say I lost my shit on her. She was very polite after that. Anyway, bad service, many mistakes along the way, and to add insult to the injury and the reason I thought I need to write this review for sure, they misspelled my wife's last name (which is the same as mine) on the grand deed. I had to come back weeks after getting the keys to sign additional forms to get it corrected. If you have an option, don't use them, they have proven to be very unorganized and incompetent. read more

I am a real estate agent who represented buyers on a sale transaction where the lender was very difficult to work with. We had a deadline to close no later than December 31st (the busiest day of the year to close an escrow). Ivonne Goodrich and Shawn Hudson went above and beyond the call of duty in taking the extra steps to facilitate all the final procedures and then Ivonne personally went to the buyers' house at night to sign loan documents so we would not lose additional precious time. Although all lender requirements were completed by the 31st, normal County recording regulations would not allow recording of the final documents until !/4/16. However, Ivonne suggested a little known procedure involving the title insurance company representative and buyer personally recording the documents. We followed the instructions and all went perfectly with the closing occurring on the 31st. If not for the extra help with work flow and suggestion as to how to do a "special recording" we would have had major problems.
