I posted another review about Josh's fantastic service for my boiler several months ago. When my…read moremini-splits stopped blowing cold air, I knew Josh would be the one to call. He fit me into his packed schedule (of course the units picked the first hot spell of the season to act up), diagnosed a refrigerant leak, and set about fixing it. If you're not familiar with mini-split systems, the difference between them and central air is that where central air cools air at the condenser unit then circulates it through your house, mini-splits circulate refrigerant, cooling the air at various "head units" throughout the house. The advantage is that mini-splits are easier and faster to retrofit into old buildings. The disadvantage is that there are many more places for a refrigerant leak to hide. Josh filled the system with UV dye and came back late in the evening to check for leaks. He found a couple of egregiously loose fittings---a sure sign of shoddy installation by the other company that had installed the system. At this point, he suspected there were probably loose fittings elsewhere. He's keenly aware of how expensive refrigerant is, and how bad it is for the environment when it leaks. With that in mind, along with the fact that the heat spell had broken, he suggested we hold off on refilling the system until he could come back and do a full system walkthrough. When he came back, he pressurized the system to its max with Nitrogen, so he could check for leaks without wasting refrigerant. It just so happened to be the hottest day of the year (so far), but that just made him more determined to get the system running for us. He worked thoroughly but quickly and got our system running better than I think it ever has. I'm profoundly grateful for his hard work and dedication. I cannot recommend him highly enough for any HVAC work you need done.

We were very satisfied with both the quality of the product and their workmanship, which is why we reached out to them again. This time, however, the experience fell short. We scheduled an appointment for a representative to come out and provide an estimate for a furnace (and potentially a full HVAC system, including central air and a hot water heater). The technician came to our home and gave us only a verbal quote--nothing in writing. As most homeowners know, it would be unwise to move forward without a written estimate, especially when comparing multiple companies. We specifically needed a written estimate as part of a real estate transaction that had already encountered complications. After the appointment, I followed up and spoke with our service contact, Joe B., who assured me he would email the estimate. Unfortunately, we never received anything, and because of the lack of follow-through and documentation, they unfortunately missed the mark this time. As a result, we've decided to move forward with another plumbing and heating company for this project. It's disappointing, especially given our positive experience in the past, but communication and proper documentation are essential, and this time it just didn't happen.

We received an in-home quote from another company that initially seemed almost too good to be true. After doing additional research, we discovered the proposed system had been sized primarily for heating, meaning the cooling capacity would need to be throttled back, potentially leading to increased wear on the equipment over time. The quote also included older, discontinued clearance models that used refrigerant scheduled to be phased out in the near future. That experience made us appreciate the honesty and expertise of Family Danz even more. John R. visited our home, provided a realistic and transparent quote, thoroughly explained the advantages and disadvantages of each Bryant system option, and allowed us to make an informed decision without any sales pressure. As a retired military veteran, I also sincerely appreciated the additional savings they extended as a thank-you for my service. Once we committed to the installation, everything moved quickly. We were scheduled promptly, and before work began, John R. and Residential Installation Manager Josh G. conducted a final walkthrough to verify measurements, answer every question we had, and ensure all of our concerns were addressed. On installation day, Grady and Kayden arrived right on time, listened carefully to our requests, and immediately got to work. Although an unexpected scheduling delay with the electrician from Mackey Electrical meant power wouldn't be available until Wednesday, the installation team adapted their schedule and completed as much of the work as possible in advance. They even coordinated an earlier start on the second day to get ahead of the intense attic heat. Throughout the four-day installation, Josh stopped by regularly to inspect the progress, answer questions, and make sure the crew was working safely and staying hydrated. Every member of the Family Danz team demonstrated professionalism, outstanding communication, and genuine pride in their work. Any issues that arose during the installation were addressed quickly and communicated directly to management, giving us complete confidence that customer satisfaction was their highest priority. The quality of the workmanship and attention to detail exceeded our expectations, and the finished Bryant air conditioning system looks and performs beautifully. Based on this experience, we have decided to trust Family Danz with all of our future heating and cooling needs, including servicing our boiler and hydronic baseboard heating system. If you are like us, having a central air cooling system is a major home improvement to not only improve our quality of life but increase the home value. It also does not come without a significant price tag which is why the value and longevity of the system is important to us. We wholeheartedly recommend Family Danz to anyone looking for honest advice, skilled installation, and exceptional customer service. They truly earned our 5-star rating.

Our 25 y/o furnace motor was giving out; Wyatt, the service technician, said we could repair the current problem (not cheaply) and not doubt a new issue would crop up. Jonah, sales person, came out the following day and gave us our options. The following day Shawn & Aidan carted away the old furnace and installed our new Bryant Furnace, which is noticeably quieter than the old one. The swept up all the debris. Every person we dealt with (including on the phone) have made this process easy.

Drains I kind of understand, but I tried to snake one once and it was a disaster. For plumbing needs, I call a plumber. The first plumber I tried came from one of the local Best of the Capital Region polls. And they were fine. But I didn't really like that the fellow who came out to look at the job and the fellow who came out to do the work were different people. Yes, I realize this is how a lot of home service companies work, and probably most consumers are fine with it. I'm fine with it too. I just like Chris better. Every time I've had to call on Chris, he could have taken me to the cleaners. Each problem had a potentially very expensive fix. But every single time, either through hard work, sheer determination, or just a keen eye, he's been able to get me out of the jam for much much less. When we left the area for a few months and had a family renting our house, I knew that I could call Chris and he would take good care of them. And he did. Most recently, we thought our water heater had died. We were prepared to buy one from him. But he told us there was nothing wrong with the heater. The problem was the circuit breaker box. But he knew a good electrician that he trusted. When a person of integrity give you a recommendation, it's wise to listen. And his electrician was fantastic. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. He's a friendly guy. Deeply knowledgeable. Dependable. Trustworthy. Really, I can't say enough good things.
