After being a customer for 15 years and spending over $14,000 on a new natural gas boiler and hot water tank at one of my properties they refused to service my boiler during the below zero weather in 2026 for at least one week. The reason was they must take care of their oil and propane customers first because they make recurring money on them . The lady in the service department was also nasty. We purchased a large propane tank from them when we purchased our house in Esperance NY. They made all these promises. So when we needed to fill our propane tank recently, they told us NO, because we haven't had it filled since purchase of tank - we have a woodstove that heats up our house the furnace was our back up and this winter the furnace was used alot with the woodstove, anyways the only way they would fill our tank is if we got on an auto delivery schedule. We said no, and they said they couldn't help us. REALLY! We PURCHASED THE TANK FROM YOU and YOU TOLD US YOU COULD FILL OUR TANK WHEN NEEDED AND BECAUSE WE DIDN'T WANT TO BE PUT ON AUTO FILL AT LONG ENERGY SCHEDULE YOU WOULDN'T FILL IT? WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS PRACTICE IS THAT? These companies who we use all the time for our utilities are nothing but greedy peeps. You sell a product, we are the customer, maybe our one time fill isn't alot for you but seriously, your company showed poor judgement in this weather. I went in very excited to be part of an interview for Long Energy. That was until they told me that we are NOT allowed to use any vacation time from October-March because of the busy months. Which I find ridiculous because if National Grid ( which is WAY bigger) can let their employees take off any time of the year, then this company is trying to seem bigger than their britches. Do not apply here if you have children who have winter and holiday week vacations, cause you won't be able to be home with them. read more

I called on a Sunday, as the heat had gone out Saturday. Within 30 minutes I had a return call from a technician (Jordy?) who said he'd be right over. He was here in about 70 minutes (fair enough, I live ~30 minutes east.) He was polite, efficient, corrected the problem, and gave me sound advice. Despite the several negative Yelp reviews (I called Long because the Google reviews were mostly positive, and because they are specialists in the Heat/air system we have.) I am quite glad I was able to see past the many negative reviews (though, knock on word, my furnace didn't require a significant repair.) The person who initially took my call, also, was very polite and professional. Btw, the charge per hour on a Sunday, was $225. I am not made of money, but I thought that was quite fair (have you ever called a plumber on a Sunday?) I am likely to become a regular Long Energy customer. read more

During a very cold SUNDAY this past winter, we experienced a "puff back" (A puff back is a misfiring in the furnace that can send soot throughout your home, covering drapes, bedding, furniture, cabinets, walls, and everything in between. It requires expensive cleaning and restoration in addition to repairs on your heating system). We called Long Energy. Within an hour, The owner was here and temporarily repaired our heat so we could stay warm until Monday when a full team of technicians came and took over to begin the process of determining exactly what went wrong and how to repair/replace. The service people, the office staff and the owner took great care of us and also worked out a problem created by another company Family Danz. They really messed up a simple water heater installation that caused a ripple effect of problems. I highly recommend Long Energy. read more

First the good part. They came out to do repair work when other companies were to busy to, unless I was a current customer, which I was not. Next, the service technician was very friendly and helpful. Now for the not so good part. The average price markup on parts for this type of company is about 100%, which I expected, however, Long charged me 500% on one part and 400% on the second part. I asked them what the average price markup on their parts was and they said about 100% average. When I asked to have it reviewed as to why is was so much higher than 100%, they told me they would check into it. A week later they came back with that they could not help me in any price reduction whatsoever, with no explanation of why they had gouged me so much. It's sad that they had no legitimate answer, except that this is what happened to me and they were sorry. Yeah, right! read more

I asked Long for a quote on a furnace. I received one. Upon calling back to move forward with installation, I was told the furnace quote was contingent on becoming a fuel customer. I had my propane tank filled this week for at least $0.60 less than what Long was quoting. That would easily add $1,000 to my fuel bill for the year, which they were looking to lock in. At no point, until I was ready to move forward with the new furnace, was I told about the requirement to be a fuel customer. This company wasted my time when I desperately need a new furnace for the winter. read more

We called Long Energy yesterday because our current propane supplier was no longer providing reliable customer service. (We were nearly out of propane.) We spoke with Mike R. who was extremely helpful. He arranged for a team of his to replace our previous vendor's tanks with theirs and deliver the propane that we needed with a total turnaround time of less that 24 hours. We have several neighbors (and a relative) who also use Long Energy as their propane supplier and are very pleased. We are as well. Clearly, this company understands the importance of good customer service! read more

We just moved into a new home and purchased the credit the previous owner had with long. Well long made us fill out their credit application and said they would transfer the credit, never did and then sent a check back to the previous owner who had already been paid that money at closing. After that without being told or ever asked if we wanted autofil they filled our tanks when we did not want them filled. Told my husband they would not take us off autofill and that he was lying about the rate he said the previous owners contract was locked in at. When we then had their tanks replaced by a different company Long came and picked up our two FULL tanks and refuse to give us the money back for the propane in the tanks. They have been nothing but nasty, rude, unprofessional and they are thieves. I suggest to everyone I know and come in contact with to NEVER use this company. read more

Let me start off by saying how highly satisfied I am with Long Energy. I couldn't recommend them enough. From Mike Russel the sales rep to the customer service center that answers the phone calls down to the techs specifically Jody ( hope I spelled that right) are AMAZING. I met Mike Russel a few years back with another company that I worked for and managed mobile home parks. Mike was always fast and efficient with getting the new mobile homes we were installing hooked up and ready to go. We now use Long Energy in our Central Square senior community on Central Ave in Colonie. Not only did Mike give our residents a great price on propane each year but works with them to unhook their old companies tanks and install new ones. On numerous occasions Long Energy has found safety issues like leaks and other hazards that the other companies disregarded. Now that I have bought a house in Sloansville NY Which is on heating oil with an old boiler their service contract covers parts and labor for only $377 per year which includes an annual check up. This has made the issues that have come up with our boiler a breeze to work through. Prior to our appointment we received a text message the day before confirming our appointment, this was around 4:30 when they close. I text back and asked if it was okay to leave a key out and that no one would be home. I received a text back at 7AM the day of our appointment from the owner himself confirming where the keys would be and that the tech could let himself in. The owner himself responded back before the office even opened. Top notch service. Jody their heating tech that came on 12/1/2020 knew exactly what was needed for our call prior to fix the problems with our garage furnace (propane), our boiler (heating oil) and our regular water lines! Where else can you go for all of that in one place? He even called because he saw that I left a new thermostat in the package sitting on the floor in front of the old one which I forgot to ask them to install. He called to ask if I needed that installed. I said sure if you have time it's not a problem. He also asked if I needed my 4 boxes of Amazon crap brought in from the rain. The service he provided is second to none. The packaging from the thermostat was taken away with him and not a single speck of dust was on the floor from him screwing the thermostat into the wall. The service was impeccable. He told him he was waiting on pets to arrive to finish up the water long work around 3:15 by the time I got home at 4:45 he was gone and the job was completed. We trusted Long Energy and Jody to come into our home to perform the work without us there and he far exceeded our expectations. Three time promised delivery and three times company was a no show. Always say "your fuel is on the truck for delivery tomorrow" and then do not show up or call. Bob Juliano, the sales manager, promises great prices and service but delivers nothing. If you want fuel actually delivered when they say they will, use someone else. read more
