I always try to support local businesses, but Riding Plaza cleaners makes it hard for me to justify the hassle. For starters, I dropped off 4 pieces of clothing and was told it would take three days. I was unsure why it would take long, but I didn't question it because I was in no hurry to get in back in time. When I picked up my laundry, I had stains on two of the garments. These stains were there when I dropped off the garments,but nothing that was so critical that it couldn't come out. I pointed out the stains and the owner stated that she washed it twice and it wouldn't come out. I just found this so hard to believe because I am sure my washing machine would be able to get it out. Again, I didn't make a dig deal of it. However, when I noticed that my ribbon off a blouse was undone, I was becoming a little agitated at all the "issues" I was having. The owner agreed to sew it back on and for that I am grateful. The price tag for all this worry and aggravation was $37.50. First and last time at Riding Plaza Cleaners. read more

Family owned. They have done a phenomenal job with our dry cleaning the last 10 years.

So far they've handled my dry cleaning OK, and take care of minor alterations without too much trouble - in other words, basic service. But getting a new blazer tailored to fit is apparently a bridge too far. Went to pick up and it had been taken in *way* too much in the upper back and shoulders, to where I couldn't cross my arms or raise them in front of me without really binding. Second try was as if nothing new had been done; the third time was a little better, but the shoulder seam parted the first time I wore it. So I'm taking it back again, although I'm concerned I'll ultimately have to take it elsewhere to get it all fixed. read more

My husband uses this dry cleaner religiously for his dress shirts and slacks. Not only is it convenient, but he is pleased with how his clothes turn out. Shirts and slacks are always perfectly clean and pressed. I will admit that on the rare occasion he manages to stain his shirt, I pretreat before taking to the cleaners. Not to say the cleaners could not get it out, but why take a chance? I have brought some of my clothes in on occasion as well and have always been pleased with the results. The owners/staff are wonderful. They are always able to accommodate schedules if we need something quicker than their average turn around. I'm sorry for the other reviewers that have had lackluster experiences here, but our experience has always been good. I'm sure most of the time these guys do a good job, but in my case, horrible experience and customer service. I dropped off a brand new (worn once) $600 suit for dry cleaning and after picking it up found what looked like a burn hole in the left shoulder area. Really stinks because it's NEW. I brought it back to address the situation, and their OWNER told me that it could not have possibly happened there and that it was "not my problem". I sympathized with her saying I understand how you could think this never happens, but it happened. How else could that happen from the time I dropped it off to the time it came home wrapped in plastic? I asked if she could fix it... she said she could, but for $60. I suggested they should cover that fee since it happened at their store. She said no, they wouldn't do that, not their problem. She even pulled up my account and implied that if I was a more frequent customer she would help us. We just moved to the area a few months ago... so I haven't been there more than 3 times. Very very poor customer service. Not to mention ruining a $600 suit that she could have fixed at very little cost to them, if only to keep their customer happy and coming back. I even had another bag of clothes to have cleaned there with me. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and urge others to do the same. UPDATE - I brought this to another cleaner to see what they thought. They said it probably wasn't a burn from the cleaners, but was probably snagged on something like a hanger or sharp edge. 1 star is too generous for this place; I wish I could give 0. They ruined a sheepskin coat, tried to give a rebate for a future dry cleaning, which then ruined a kimono. They told us they could clean both. Don't use this place unless you want ruined clothes and rude service! read more

I LOVE this place and the owners! We have been using this place since we moved to the area 3 years ago. Typically I am bringing in 20 + dress shirts of my husbands to get cleaned and pressed and I always get them back within 3-4 days. For that many shirts and how busy they always are, i think thats great time. Also, the lady who is usually running it is SO nice!!! I usually have my son with me when I go to pick up/drop off and she is always so helpful (opening the door, carrying my bag in, or helping carry the shirts out). Similar experiences to the other reviewer. Small hassles, I got pants hemmed and had to take them back because they were still too long. Re-hemmed for free, but it was a hassle. Also, everything takes forever, but like the other reviewer I was never in a hurry. Looking for a new cleaner after they wouldn't clean a skirt suit at the same price as a pant suit. read more

If you value your clothes, avoid Riding Plaza Cleaners. I dropped-off five dress shirts and four of them came back with obvious yellow spots that were not on them when I brought them in. The owner repeatedly insisted that these new stains were not her fault and refused to fix the stains. Then she vehemently refused to refund the cost I had already paid to have these shirts cleaned. She returned the shirts to me MUCH dirtier than when I dropped them off. The stains were the exact same yellow color as the old, clunky steam machine's padding she uses to press shirts... and the stains were in the exact same location on all the shirts. It was obvious the stains came from that machine. These were new shirts and had only been worn once. She told me I should be more careful while eating in dress shirts because she said I drop food on myself often... but I had not eaten while wearing these shirts -- and the stains were scorch discoloration. She repeatedly said it was all my fault and that she was NOT to blame. I now have to buy four new dress shirts to replace these because the stains from the Riding Plaza Cleaners are so bad. I had heard other horror stories about this dry cleaners -- but decided to give it a chance anyway because it is local and because they say they are "organic." I would have been better off washing the shirts myself -- or going to any of the many other dry cleaners in the area. I used this dry cleaners twice, after the second time I will never go again. This morning I put on an expensive sweater from Banana Republic that I had dry cleaned a few weeks ago. Low and behold I found (so far) 3 large holes in the sweater. They are not in unnoticeable places, but in the middle of the arm or around where my stomach is, I will now have to throw out a $80+ sweater because of no fault of my own. Total dissatisfaction! Shirts were not pressed properly and when I tried to discuss where they went wrong they play the language barrier and act like they did nothing wrong. They will NEVER see my face in there again. First time/Last time. I also brought up why everyone else can charge $1.98 per item and my three Items were over $12.00, now they REALLY didn't understand what I was talking about! Enough Said!
