I contracted with Tri Star to repair some major issues on two exterior walls. Both have continued…read moreto leak, and Tri Star told me it was a roofing issue. I contracted with a roofer, and when they came to do the work, it turns out the walls were not completed properly: there is no plywood nor wall wrap in the leaking areas (which is itemized on my contract with Tri Star). I contacted Tri Star to come and redo the work, even sent pictures of the problem areas, and called to make sure they received the photos. That was on March 12, and I have not heard back. Additionally, they took almost four times as long as estimated to do the work. And even then, the work was not completed as contracted, and I have now paid Tri Star more than $10000, and my walls still leak, and the work I have paid them to do is being damaged because the work was not done correctly. There are other construction companies in Denton: find one of them.

They have additionally let us know that they have scheduled a meeting with their staff to ensure that everyone knows how to handle this situation should it arise with any other customers. We are pleased to see the speed with which they have worked to address a frustrating situation for us and their dedication to ensuring it does not happen in the future. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The springs on our garage door broke. We had a copy of the Lifetime Guarantee information on our garage door that was installed by O'Brien from our home's previous owners, so I called to get it fixed. They found our home in their system (under prior owner's name), updated to our information and sent a tech out the next day (the only good thing they did). While I noted in the fine print that the lifetime guarantee only covered parts and not labor, so I expected to pay labor costs, when the tech arrived and inspected everything, he told us that they were not able to honor the lifetime guarantee and that we would have to pay for the new springs in addition to the labor. We were not able to get a straight answer as to why this was the case - we were told there was new ownership and they didn't accept the guarantees, that their records show only the motor was covered and not the springs (the guarantee certificate very explicitly states that 2 high lifecycle springs are covered), that maybe the install was done by someone else using their name (even though they told us they had records covering the motor). They offered us a discounted rate on the springs, but I am very disappointed that they are using such shady practices. I will not be using their services for our garage door ever again, and recommend everyone stay away.
