I was looking to make easy online reservation for a place in town that could accommodate 6 of us on a Saturday night. We wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been. Rigby Yard popped up on Resy. The menu looked like it had enough variety that everyone could find something to eat and prices weren't crazy, so we decided to give it a try. The room was spacious, with many large 6-top tables and a separate glass enclosed private room that looked to hold 15ish people pretty easily. Accommodating groups can be tricky in the Old Port but this place could be perfect for large family dinner, bridal party, or something of that nature. We started with beverages. They had lots of cocktails, wine, and to choose from. The blueberry margarita that I had was really good and a few other friends doted about the cosmo. They liked the flavor but also that it wasn't in the traditional glass that many of us tend to spill with (: The whipped ricotta appetizer was light and fluffy. It was actually served with enough bread slices for all 6 of us to share. The soup... the .33 cent soup... (Yes, you read that correctly) was a tomato based veggie soup that was well worth the third of a dollar! What a cool concept! We ordered a variety of meals, including: steak and frites, a burger, a chicken sandwich, the BLT, and shrimp & grits.. I personally had the shrimp and grits. For $29, they were very generous with 6-7 flavorful jumbo shrimp and the creamy cheesy grits. I tried a bite of my friend's steak and it was a good cut, cooked just as she wanted. The chicken sandwich was no frozen patty. You could tell that was freshly breaded. All of us were very satisfied. It was clear this place isn't just another Old Port pub. For a random pick, Rigby Yard exceeded our expectations! We are all looking forward to round 2!

This place was where I went on my first night in Portland. It is a restaurant/ bar located on a cobblestone street. It is a great space looks like it was industrial building. There are tvs to watch sports on and there are plenty of seating. We had a reservation and were able to sit at our table without having the whole party there yet. I had the chicken sandwich which was good. And the two drinks I had were called the Lavender Gin Sour. It had Gin, lavender simple and lemon in it. I am not a sour drink person and this was a good sour and I wanted to try it as I love gin and Lavender. Our waitress was great and took my food allergies seriously and she answered our questions. It did get loud in here though as we ended up coming here on music bingo night.

The service here was AWFUL. We had a group with a reservation and they couldn't seat us on time for our reservation. Once seated, it took them 30 minutes for a waitress to come by to take just our drink orders. We all ordered food and the shrimp and grits was inedible (picture attached) and the steak frites was cold. Never coming back here and would not recommend anything about this place except the carajillo

We went to Rigby Yard on a cold Friday night in January. We were looking for a place that had warm ambiance and fire place, which based on a little research, this place reportedly had both. The fireplace part is true, gas, not wood, but it is surrounded by couches and tables that seat 6+ and we were a party of two so sitting near the fireplace didn't work out. So we sat at a high top in the main part of the restaurant which felt a bit like sitting in a sports bar because of the very large tv screen right next to us. The service was friendly and efficient. The menu has a $0.33 cup of prohibition soup, and the menu does not describe what it is. I asked the server and she described it as a tomato soup with hearty vegetables (beans, carrots). She was exactly right. My expectations were low, but it was delicious...very warming and hearty. The cocktails were very good. I'm a fan of the classic old fashion, and they had a few different options...I tried the maple old fashion. The maple flavor was subtle which I really liked. They serve it with one large ice cube (the way it should be) that has RY (for Rigby Yard) molded into the ice. We tried 2 appetizers and one main. The appetizers were the chicken wings (we got the buffalo sauce), and the sticky ribs. The chicken wings could have been a bit crispier. They were really large wings so they needed to be cooked longer to crisp them up. The sticky ribs were amazing. I would go back just for those and the cocktails. We also tried the steak frites. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium. The fries were thin and crispy. The steak came pre-sliced which at first I thought was odd, but then realized it was cut in the perfect bias which made the steak more tender and allowed the chimicheri sauce to drip down between the slices. It was quite good. Although it didn't meet the "warm and cozy" expectations, the food and service were both good, and the atmosphere does have fun vibe.

Rigby Yard serves New American fare in an industrial setting (conveniently located on the cobblestone streets of Wharf Street). A solid cocktail menu, with appetizers, sizable entrees, and dessert, too. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating on their cobblestone patio, with umbrellas over each table for cover. Between the five of us (multiple appetizers and entrees, two drinks each, and a dessert), it was pretty affordable, and tasted good, too! There wasn't much of a wait, but it wasn't a ghost town, either. Service was solid enough. The prickly pear margarita (which is strong, to say the least), fries, olives, and tortellini are tasty. My rating is only as average as it is because there's no 'wow' factor to Rigby Yard. The food *was* good, but I could eat everything on their menu anywhere else in the country. There's nothing wrong with it, but nothing quite unique, either. Would go again but wouldn't make it a *must try* restaurant in Portland.

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after window shopping downtown just looking for some lunch. Got a seat at the bar. It was the bartenders first day on the job but he was super nice and helpful! We ordered lattes, the veggie burger, and the turkey BLT. The fries were perfect! Sandwiches were also really good and a good size! We weren't drinking but the drinks the bartenders were making looked good. The space had a variety of tables and seating and was really nice, I'd come back. Prices were good too!

    Cheers!

Good vibes!! There alot of options on Wharf Street. We grabbed an outside table and took it all in. I highly recommend the Whipped Ricotta. It was topped with honey and honeycomb. Delicious-ness!! Oh- and we tried the prohibition soup for $0.33. You can't go wrong! It's a tomato base with beans and veggies - very good!! My turkey BLT was very filling, I only ate half. The salad was fresh and flavorful. We didn't have room for dessert. Love the area!! I would recommend this spot!!

Please note, this review is based off of our experience on New Years Eve, where we purchased a "NYE Experience" and they were not at capacity (or even close -- half the seats/tables were empty). We were in town for a few days and couldn't really find much going on for new years, but I did run across a NYE Experience at Rigby Yard. It was $50 for a reserved table, a clear view of the ball drop on a TV, appetizers, dessert sampler and a glass of champagne for a midnight toast. It sounded a bit much for only one drink included and not knowing the food situation, but figured having a table and somewhere to go would be good since we didn't know the area and are "old" lol... As far as the staff and service -- they/it was mediocre at best. The hostess who got us settled in was not super friendly, but appreciated that she moved us to a table from the bar like our reservations stated. However, once we were sat, not one waitstaff visited our table or checked in for almost 15 mins. There were maybe 20 people in the entire place and I saw at least 6 people working so was a little confused that no one had at least greeted us. Our waitress was nice but was overly pushy and continuously asking (until we would say yes) about bringing out the apps and desserts. The "experience" mentioned an appetizer and dessert sampling. The appetizers consisted of 3 shrimp and 1 steak crostini. The steak crostini was good, but cold. To say I was underwhelmed by the appetizers is an understatement. The dessert was ok, but again not overly impressed, especially the strawberry filled with whipped cream. I've included pictures so you can see for yourself. We didn't get our free glass of champagne to toast until almost a minute before the ball dropped. It was just felt very thrown together last min. I also was disappointed when I saw several people getting fancy looking espresso martinis, but when I ordered mine it came in a weird beer /brandy glass and no garnishes. I get that it's on tap but not sure mine didn't look like everyone else's. It just seemed compared to reviews I had read it was all around a disappointment. And I will give them the benefit of the doubt as it was a special event, not regular service... But still, I feel like with an experience like that and less capacity that service and experience would be heightened. I would say if they do this again, make sure your staff is more aware/attentive (especially if it is 1/2 capacity) and either up the food experience or add a drink or two. 10/10 would not recommend for a special event like this, but would probably suggest checking it out on a regular day as most reviews at this place were good and the regular food menu looked good.

Great outdoor experience enjoying the Buffalo cauliflower, whipped ricotta, salad, $.33 soup and the Burger! Drinks and service were also great. If you want an enjoyable evening with great food and happy hour that STARTS at 7 come here

I felt the atmosphere stuffy. I did not feel a warmness, we visited on St Paddy's day so that could have been the issue. I just wanted tea and dessert and felt as if I was a bother. Waitress was more focused on others unfortunately. The dessert took for ever to come to the table, I expected it to come out warm and gooey, and was barely warm and dry. I would like to try them again as it could have just been an off day due to the holiday

What a snuffy ambiance. Sat in an overstuffed chair by the fireplace and it was super cozy!! Ordered a decaf cappuccino at the bar. Service was pretty slow but my drink was tasty.

Beautiful interior!! They have a huge screen to watch games. Outdoor seating is comfortable and very dog-friendly. Food was just ok and very expensive. I had the rooster chicken and just consumed 3x the maximum daily allowance of sodium. It's worth visiting if a game is on and you want a clean and comfortable place to relax.
